Dead Rising |OT| Chop Till You Drop Remastered

I have the same problem, but not as frequently.
Though I had that problem on 360, but I always thought that was due to a faulty controller.

It's really strange.

Hey, i've tried with another controller : no more problem ! Not a single unwanted roll in more than one hour.

This is weird because this controller work very well with all my other games, Rocket League included, and it use 100% of the left stick all the time.

Thanks for making me think about a maybe faulty controller.

Yeah, got the Zombie Genocider achievement. Took me around 35 ingame hours, so 3 hours in real time.

Now I feel...strange.....that was fucking torture,lol. I was faster than 2006 though.

I did that back in like 2007.

Almost worth it for that megaman blaster which just basically 3 shots bosses.

I beat the

and got the medicine back to

... only to instantly fail the next case because I apparently missed the window for it. Oh well.

Yeah I'll use it to kill all the psychos.

Restart with your lvls intact and wreck everything in ur path

I suddenly understand why people said "get to lvl 10 and restart".
I don't mind it. Getting a feel for how the mall is laid out and where the useful items are is pretty satisfying.

You can still try to kill psychos and rescuing survivors for fast level ups. Then restart and do story missions or wait until the game ends (you will get bonus PP for psychos and survivors) and start NG+

Soccer ball was recommended earlier for clearing large waves. Can you give them a mannequin?

I'll try the mannequin when I pick it back up later tonight. DR2 was my first DR title and I got so used to the NPCs being able to do their jobs. I guess this one just has a different play style where clearing waves is more viable than just running through. A little frustrating at first, but now that I'm leveling up, holding specific items for that purpose seems to be a reasonable thing to do.

This game really reminds me of Resident Evil in a way, where subsequent playthroughs cement certain sections of the game in your head until you just "know" what to do and blaze through the game. So much fun though, even if the first attempt is kind of frustrating.

I'm assuming this is a no, but can I cloudload my Dead Rising 360 save to my bone or is this classified as a new game?

Anyone notice the item icons glitching and flickering on PS4?

Yep. Only happens occasionally but it's a weird bug.

I'll give it another shot and then I'll probably follow your advice. It's not like the main missions are very difficult when you've found a solid strategy to defeat the bosses anyway. Thanks for the tip!

Man, I want to say that AI has come a long way in games since 2006, but this was the year FEAR came out, and no game has come close since.

Anyone have some tips for making my group of five survivors not get stuck on every zombie I just walked around? And even then I'm not looking forward to the final lip between the elevator and the security room.

Got 2 bars of speed after bringing back a bunch of survivors. Amazing how much of a difference it makes.

Yup. That was a life-saver for me getting the first speed-boost.

Just played a bit of it. Everything looks and runs nicely, and it's always nice to remember just enough about the last time I played to grab the hidden Uzi in Paradise Plaza just before heading out into the park at night.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL they went down my first try. Must be the old muscle memory.

Just to be clear: There are multiple endings. You have to get at least one of the endings to get bonus PP for killed psychos and rescued survivors afaik. I may be wrong though.
The easiest way to get an ending is to wait at the heliport at the right time (when the helicopter arrives).

The best and easiest way is to use the small chainsaws to clear the path imo. that's what I did. I don't have any problems with A.I. or survivors as long as I use the small chainsaws.

And you have to unlock the shortcut of course.

Edit: double post, sorry.

Tips for the
clown
boss? Tried going with melee but got obliterated. I still didn't run into any guns yet other than a couple of pistols and the minigun from the psycho car. None available at the moment.

So decided to push through Overtime mode and now I've completed the game for good and seen it to its true ending. Have to say, I'm pretty burnt out - I'm glad I only picked up the first, I don't see myself jumping back in until Dead Rising 4's PS4 release.. hopefully a lot of the frustrating mechanics will have been rightfully updated by that release.

There are zombie cops around that area that carry pistols.

Go to the north plaza, and pick up some swords from Ripper's Blades. Just keep your distance from the boss and wait for him to finish an attack, then run in and slash once or twice. You can get pistols from the zombie cops. Use one to shoot his balloons and stun him whenever he fills one up.

They'll certainly have completely stripped out all of the interesting mechanics, sure.

Just looked up some Dead Rising 4 gameplay for the first time and holy shit.. what a travesty. Here's hoping Dead Rising 3 gets a PS4 port, really want to play a more up to date version of the series, but from my brief time with Off The Record on PS3, I don't think that or Dead Rising 2 are it.

This plus grab the book in the bookstore on the upper level for criminal biography if you have the space because it makes the swords last longer. When I did it he got in a loop of his fire so I could go in, hit him twice, move back and Dodge fire, repeat.

It's nice to be reminded just how much fun it is to strap on a servebot head and inflict pain on everything in your path. Man, does it feel good to play the original again... Saves only from restroom stalls, and sofas... Having to micromanage each section ones shit just starts getting crazy... Trying to rescue everyone you meet, though more often than not just letting them die because time is running low lol.

This game was so damn memorable at the time and it just feels so damn good to replay it in HD all over again. It's even better when you luck out against the convicts outside and they get stuck on a tree lol.

Just can't wait to beat it again so I can just let lose in Infinite Mode.

DR3 is terrible.

Tried rescuing a slow limping grieving woman for an hour, she always get eaten by zombies in a gruesome way which is awesome, finally finds out I can carry her, maneuver all the zombies lika a ballerina, get to the elevator and a flock of zombies swarm out, headshot them all in a crazy smooth way on the pc, got her to the safe room, pick a new mission, heads back to the elevator, new swarm of zombies there but I see an opening to the button, gets eaten from behind, realize I forgot to save :/ Game is brutal haha

OMG I'm loving coming back to this game (DR1).
How the hell do I remember all these things about it? Locations of weapons/drinks, triggers/locations for sequences and survivors, boss strategies. It's frightening. lol.

I've got the collection and enjoy it but I really believe DR3 is the best one. Loved that game.
For me personally, it's pretty much just a generic, mindless zombie-killing simulator with no depth or challenge, and way too much emphasis on "wacky" weapons. What DR1 could've ended up as in the hands of a different developer.

This is why I still call Dead Rising 1 survival horror. It's just like Resident Evil.
It's more about item management, dodging enemies, fighting difficult and memorable bosses, knowing item placements and managing save locations. It's like an open world survival horror game without puzzles.

Dead Rising 2 and 3 are completely different. It's just action and combos. It's so obvious that DR1 was made by a different team.

What a douchebag move from Capcom not putting them all on one disc and selling as a complete remaster. Like why put out the first two into retail doubling production runs and miss the third as well?

I like having separate copies and not just one disk. I do wonder why OTR didn't get a retail release though. I wonder if it did poorly and they just decided it wasn't worth it.

It's not a bad game on its own, just a horrible dead rising game. I played the hell out of dr3 and enjoyed basically all my time with it, but it's clearly no longer dead rising and just straight zombie warriors.

Just like Dead Rising 2 to be honest. It's pretty much Dead Rising 2 in a small town/ city.

Do we know why Capcom changed the developer/team after DR1? It doesn't make any sense to me. And does the original DR1-team still exist?

Did the screen tearing became stronger during day 2 and day 3 (more zombies showing up) or did it remain rare and a non issue?!

Wait, wut? How?

This game is fucking brutal

I love it. I've already lost a couple of survivors vs my first go on Dead Rising 2 where I didn't miss any known survivors.

Just like Dead Rising 2 to be honest. It's pretty much Dead Rising 2 in a small town/ city.

I respectfully disagree. At least there wasn't *quite* as much of a focus on the combo weapons in 2. You still had to go out of your way to get the ingredients to craft them each time. 3 is just like, "fuck it here's the most OP weapons in the game that you can grab on demand" and turns into a musou game. 2 also had more thoughtful map design like the original. You can see the beginnings of them forsaking the DNA that makes the first so good in 2, but it wasn't until 3 that they decided to make a completely different game and slap the Dead Rising name on it.

Oh man, I forgot how brutal the case 2 run was. Good way to teach players how much timer management matters in the game, though!

God, I missed the mini-chainsaw so much. So broken, yet so fun to use.

I completely and totally forgot I pre-ordered the 1st one from Amazon when these remasters were announced (only $15) so it was a damn nice surprise to come home to it. Just have to find the time to play it. Still working on RE4 and now I have Recore which I am digging, so going to be hard, but looking forward to once I do have the time.

Yea 2 is very clearly in the same series as 1. If 3 wasn't called Dead Rising, you wouldn't know it until late into the game. The timer was crucial to the series because it forced a lot of design decisions. The map could only be so big. It's clear they wanted a bigger map for 3 and 4 and so they basically threw the timer out the window. And with that they decided to change a lot more conventions of the series. DR3 is fun, but it feels so different from 1 and 2.
