We just spent 10 min trying to find a trailer for Halo Wars2 on the games page. Didn't exist apparently but waiting for 4 minutes of loading screens was fun
Very disappointed so far with the Xbox One S. What's going on here?

Same thing going on with a lot of others apparently. I'm pretty tech savvy. There's nothing abnormal on my network or Xbox One atm. I just got a 446MB or so update today so I don't know of if something happened or what. I don't remember the store being that bad, but I last used it a week and a half ago.
I was going to purchase a BC game or two but it was so bad that I just started playing Recore instead.
Also, Rise of Iron must be listed as a separate game? It's not in the DLC lost for Destiny on the store.

Halo 5 and MCC have horrible UIs. Very laggy.

First I am hearing suspend/resume being borked. Mine works fine as I turn it on and load right into Fallout 4 every night.

Because a lot of these issues are not widespread, or they are opinions.
I have been a member here over 3 years and only have made 2 threads, one in good faith for a disingenuous OP of another. I use my PS4 full time and the Xbox One heavily when exclusives come out that I want so it is on the sideline for months at a time sometimes. That said, the OS hasn't always been this bad. It was far more confusing before, but it was much faster. I still prefer the new one, just have to get around certain quirks. Also I'm not in Preview.

My XB1 has basically been on 24/7 since launch. I use it for TV functionality. I've never once had to power cycle it.
Just skimmed the OP, but I did catch the part about it not controlling the tv to change the channels. I must have an ideal setup because that stuff has always worked great for me. So much that my wife now can't live without voice control and I'm worried that Scorpio won't have that functionality. If not I'm still going to have to run every thing through my XB1.

Yeah...this is why I main PS4. I had the same problems.
My X1 performs fine, as does my Wii U, my Vita, and both my gaming PCs, etc, etc.
Snapping stuff works fine. Almost everything comes up instantly with voice commands and navigation for me. It turns on my TV, shuts it off, etc.
The only performance problems I see is when the system hasn't had a reboot in days. The system is fine, I do think they need to work on how it uses memory and resources over time though, it seems to build up.
Nothing worth calling BS.
Edit* Do any other consoles/systems let you suspend Netflix, Fallout 4, music, and another App at the exact same time?
I think that may be the suspect at times.
I have had issues since Day 1 with my OG Xbox, my H5 LE(ie rip off and terrible sound effect) and One S with the OS. I don't feel the need to make a complain thread about stuff like this but I'll post if someone else does. Slow response, downloads stopping and very slow store loading aren't opinions in the least.
MCC may have issues. But calling Halo 5 a "not well developed game" is pure bullshit.

I've had an Xbox one since day 1 and don't suffer any of these except for slow snap sometimes as well as party chat drop ohts in the first few months of release. I also find it hard to believe 3 people would have the same problems on 3 different xboxes when I and most of my friends are on Xbox and haven't had any major issues with the cobsole since they started patching everything early on in the console's life cycle.

Don't use MP but the UI is very cluttered and feels slow; it seems appreciably slower than the PS4 UI but then the online elements take forever to load on the PS4 as well so that aspect isn't unique.
SP games seem to work fine. Since the XB1S doesn't have kinect this wouldn't be usable but voice command really helps get through some of the UI drudgery; and it works quite well.

each system has their own USB 3.0 with WD 7200rpm 64mb cache black drives. 1 has 8TB one has 4TB and my One S has 16TB.

People having issues with the os' s speed, layout and responsiveness are not opinions.
They are legitimate issues for alot of people even if they dont affect you personally. Look at things from the perspective of someone who isnt you for a change.

People also found it hard to believe that others had DS4 thumbsticks peeling, the system sounding extremely loud and the Wii U taking 2 minutes to load into OS. Doesn't make it not true.

These backhanded shots at Xbox One owners just need to stop. I think there is a general consensus in this thread that the Xbox One UI is sluggish and needs improvement, I mean that we can agree on I think. Compared to UI on the PS4 I say we can also agree that it falls short and that PS4's UI generally feels snappier and more responsive.
But all the stealth shots are just dumb and silly and not warranted. I have both consoles and I mostly play on PS4 but I'm just sick and tired at all the shit slung at Xbox.

As soon as this thread popped up I posted that this was gonna be another shit on the Xbox one UI thread and sure enough people jumped down my throat. And sure enough I was right.
I posted as much. It's undoubtedly 100 times more attractive. The PS4's dash looks bland as all hell in comparison, no matter what theme you choose. If pins were right on the home page, maybe at the bottom and used that ad space as something more useful, I would never have to navigate away from home and wouldn't notice a lot of the problems.

people complaining its slow make sure your network is good speed nat the works also if possible use fast external storage and this is the big one , TURN OFF CORTANA!! use the Xbox commands if you have a Kinect. Note turning off Cortana kills commands thru the mic.

I'm the same way but it only takes a few times to get the muscle memory. It just boggles my mind that Games and Apps isn't a bigger deal on the OS when it should be the most important button. It's moved from left(with pins) to down to now on the right side of the home screen, but it's literally the smallest tile on the while page.
You know, I think the whole carnival of stupid in No Man's Sky threads is ridiculous. You know what I do? I don't open them anymore. You don't have to fight every battle on the forum. If there were one of these a week, you'd have something but there aren't that many threads about the issues overall. This is a tiny topic on this forum compared to:

How, when we're detailing our own experiences, which means we've given MS our money and support and most still currently own systems? I have had 3. A Day 1 console, An overpriced Halo 5 LE and the 500GB One S. I have a right to express whatever distaste I so please within bounds and I've likely supported Microsoft this generation far more than the majority of defenders.
I actually spent 20 minutes trying to find the games with gold section last week and ended up just pulling out my laptop and doing it through the browser instead :/

You don't have to unplug anything a restart from the side menu COMPLETELY reboots the system.
as a side measure you can go into the bluray settings and clear persistant storage then reboot if that makes you feel better.

IDK, just trying to figure out what causes some of these issues. Maybe I just got lucky with both my original Xbox One and Xbox One S.
Does the Gold promo on the right side of the home screen not show up for you? It's typically always there for me, but maybe it's different depending on region?
I have configured the xbox with a static ip, dmz, and google dns servers. I now have open NAT. I will see if this fixes any issues.
When in the network settings, I noticed im getting my full upload speed (around 25mbps). However, I'm not getting my full download speed. A speed test taken as I type this shows 137mbps out of my 225mbps max speed. The details page on my xbox only shows 25mbps down. What's up with that?

I don't know think the headset thing is accurate on ps4 in all cases. I have the turtle Beach elites and it doesn't turn the audio off right away.

A routers QOS and other network conditions will do that i get half my speed when other devices are active on the network other systems pc's etc. If I'm home alone nothing running but one system i can hit max speed everytime. though i do not use QOS because my network and connection speed don't require that kind of hand holding.
I don't have any input on the xbox one s, but one of my friends had a bad experience with the original. The UI was really sluggish on his. He would press on a tile and it would animate, but nothing would happen until you press it 5-10 times. To finish things off, the disc drive went bad right after the warranty expired. My Dreamcast's disc drive is still screeching along 17 years later, there is no excuse for a failure on a 1 year old xbox one. Either XB1 has crap build quality/quality control or he had really bad luck.
Yeah, I had my own issues with the store before(not being able to download the 360 GWG games, bad UI, etc.) but nothing like this. This is a very recent change and it may have had something to do with one of the 2 updates I got in the last week and a half or so.
There are PS4 drives going out too. Pretty much every disc based console since the PS1 has had problems for some(not sure about GC/Wii aka the Nokia of consoles apparently).
Does not show up anywhere on the home screen for me, Japanese console, HK account.
The thing that always annoyed me about xbox is the installation experience for a new purchase.
On the same network a ps4 and xbox can both get a new game disc in the drive. On ps4 you can play after a minute or two and online later if a patch is required. On xbox it takes an hour or more for the installation and you are only able to play a preview chapter eg in bf hardline.
It is such a user unfriendly experience.

Eh? It's the third tile down on the right hand side of your home screen and its got a big tag that says GOLD in black on yellow.
Sitting here watching football and decided to record how it does in the middle of doing this. Here you go. Nothing annoying here..at least...that I see. I mean, unless like less than half a second (1/4 second/1/8th/10th/..hahanot actually timing it) or faster bothers you. The "slowest" part of the video is the snap apps appearing, but it's literally a very short time, and snapping the football game was fast. If I used Kinect I could have even said "Xbox Snap TV" and it would have done it instantly, no need to do it from that menu, but even the menu wasn't bad to use and I wanted to try it with a controller for once. The snapped TV (football game) runs fine too. Everything switched, navigated, even looked at my games, apps, and the store/tab section. Seems fine to me? No?
Granted I didn't test everything, but just switched through what I might do on a regular interaction. I like to snap sports and play Horizon.
This is OG X1 too, my time with the S seemed quicker this weekend. Maybe I have a freak X1, lol.

That's great for you, but you can't discount others' experiences just because you don't have them. I've personally never even bothered with snapping anything, as I use Fire TV and PS4 for all media, but I have heard before that it doesn't always work perfectly. Nothing widespread from what I could tell though.
Do you guys just think there is some agenda and everyone is making shit up? If so, I'm willing to avatar bet anyone and make a video of me going through the store and some apps.
Oh okay, saw your edit. I really think the last updates broke shit as its never been quite this bad for me. Pushing buttons on the OS is fine but the store and using apps has taken a sharp downward turn.
I got an XB1 at launch and I now have an XB1S and both machines the OS is slow as fuck and hitches everywhere. They are widespread and not opinions.
It's painful switching to the XB1 after using my PS4, it's almost a night and day difference.
I can live with it because I was forged in the fire of launch Wii U. You want to talk about slow. That was far worse than the Xbox One is now imo.

Fucking shit since it won't bitstream HD audio formats. Piece of shit.
Lets just say I'm fucking mad as hell about this since the only reason I bought this piece of trash was to play 4k films. Not only that but the RGB settings are FUCKED to all hell and the gamma curve completely destroys any dark scenes. I completely missed the goddamn intro sequence in ReCore where Joule is in the home base for the first time because the entire screen just went fucking black. Absolutely livid with this thing. For an "entertainment system" so far the games are aliased enough to cut my eyes on, the color is IMPOSSIBLE to correct for, movies don't support BASIC, nearly decade old audio formats, and the menu is a buggy, laggy, atrocious mess that's a goddamn unintuitive nightmare to navigate.
To say that I hate this system is an understatement. I hate this thing like AM hates humanity. There aren't words for it's offensiveness to common design sensibilities, or to industry standards. Every inch of me winces at this fucker's existence in my home theater cabinet. It's poison made plastic and silicon. It can royally go fuck itself.

all 3 of mine behave in the same manner. 2 day one units and an S model MY S is actually a tad faster then what your video shows.
