Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Two steps forward, one step back, Game Freak.

Like, the move thing I mentioned just leaves me baffled. Why remove the confirmation prompt? Poeple like me get screwed over. I was just lying in bed playing and the game slipped slightly in my hand and then whoop, no Razor Leaf. I'm sure it doesn't matter overly much in the long run for Rowlet but it still annoyed the hell out of me.

And yeah that move releaner is also equally baffling, especially when the move deleter himself shows up in what, the first city? Why even have him so early if you then put the relearner separately at the freaking end of the game?

And I'm still po'ed about apparently charjabug only able to evolve at a specific place on the fourth island. I wanted vikavolt while playing up damn it.

Razor Leaf is Rowlett's best grass stab until, well, I've still yet to get a replacement and mine is level 42 Decidueye lmao

So how does the Island scan work?

I got something on Route 3, now I just wander aimlessly in the grass hoping I run into it before the time goes???

Question for those that had their first visit to Aether Foundation
You can't catch the UB then, right, lol?

Is it possible to revert pokemon names back or re-name them from wonder trade? Got one i would like to use but the name makes want to trade it away.

Man, what were they thinking making Battle Royale so difficult. I'm against properly EV'd megas and stuff with my in game shitmons. And it's gonna stay that way for a while since this is the only way to unlock the tools to raise anything better.

Pokemon Sun & Moon's name rater can be found hanging out in Heahea City, which is on Akala Island. Look out for the Alola Tourist Bureau. You can change the name there.

Y'all are nuts, this game ain't hard. You must be using trash mons like Yungoos and the Toucan or something.

If you don't use the broken tools the game gives you (exp share, affection perks, possibly Z moves, etc) some fights--especially totem bosses--can be pretty tough. I play with a ton of restrictions so I guess my perspective is skewed but I use the same restrictions on every game and this game has a lot more tough fights than recent ones even with restrictions.

I'll judge its difficulty compared to the rest of the series once I'm completely done.

I'm not using affection or exp share. Y'all are nuts. Stop using trash Pokemon like Charjabug and Pikipek.

Anyone finding themselves never using Z-moves? I totaly forget about them during battles even tho there a giant button. Whoops.

I keep forgetting they're a thing until opponents catch me by surprise and use one. I'll likely do the same thing with Z moves as what I did with megas and avoid using them.

The move deleter is now useless, that's why. There's no HMs to delete so you can just replace any move.

The move reminder is much better now and can allow Pokemon to learn any move that it gets at any level, not just certain moves. That's why it's at the end of the game now.

Don't get why they can't just allow those additional features to be locked off until later in the game so a basic reminder is still available. Ugh.

I'm on the third island and I haven't used one once. My pokemon haven't had much trouble outside of a boss or two, so I don't feel like using them.
Why won't any of my Pokémon eat any pokebeans?

They're probably full. If they have five filled in beans on the screen you see when you switch between them, they won't eat anymore.

It's not like you have a lot of options at that point in the game if you're only using new Pokemon.

Charjabug isn't trash. I'm pretty sure that fight would have been much easier had I actually used one.

For those who have a bunch of older Pokémon caught in Bank or in previous games, how are you handling the capture of Pokémon this time? Just catching the new ones?

Is there a good way of knowing which Pokémon you already have in the Bank?

Been playing the Japanese version on an off the past two days and have clocked up 4hrs I guess but the game still feels like I'm in the tutorial.

Yo this lady is specifically running away from her boyfriend and taking delight in watching him search fruitlessly for her when all he wanted was a romantic day at this meadow.

Imma throw my Metapod at her head.

I'm catching them all. Since Bank won't be available to January I decided to challenge myself and see if I can get a full living Alola dex before then.

Is there a go to place for TMs in this game? Specifically Thunderbolt since my Raichu is still using garbage like thundershock.

I have a feeling if I keep on trying to catching with the amount I usually play, I won't be able to finish the game or finish the actual Alola Pokémon. Want to be efficient.

Considering I was consistently underleveled at every stage of the game after the second island with EXP share off. I can see how people can struggle if they don't use it.

I mean fuck, I was 5 levels under when I got to the Elite 4, and I fought every trainer. I know because I completed every side quest, lol.

That must have been great. One of my fondest memories in the series is fighting Cynthia in D/P with Pokemon nearly 10 levels below her Garchomp. Needless to say I was very disappointed when I got to her in Platinum and saw that they had lowered the levels of her team members.

At first i think i would beat Wishiwashi in 2 turns but then it called a alomomola that kept healing it, it almost beat my Dartrix by atrition

Just starting off. Is the Mystery Gift Munchlax worth keeping in my party in the long run? I have one if those cool Alolan Meowths too.

Who decided they're allowed to make starter Pokemon this cool?! From the leaks, I started off a little sour on Incineroar, but man, now he's easily in my top 3 favorite starters.

Sounds like my Totem battle with
Lurantis
. At first, I thought its partner was harming it by using
Sunny Day
, but then I realized
Synthesis
gets stronger
in the sunlight
. That was just a dumb battle lol.

No wonder I thought the fight was easy. The one I fought only called in a weaker Wishiwashi. I just left it alone and took out the Totem while keeping up Light Screen with Magnemite. The little Wishiwashi was practically useless. An Alomomola definitely could have caused problems.

So how does this game handle getting Hidden Abilities Pokemon?

Friend Safari and Hordes were not a great solution IMO.

ORAS did it much better.

The main point of
Sunny Day
is to insta-charge
Solar Blade
so it can spam that move every turn.

Incidentally that move absolutely tanks the framerate on an original 3DS.

When wild Pokemon call for help enough times there's a chance that their allies will have Hidden Abilities. It means you usually have to check their abilities manually via Skill Swap, but it does mean that you can find the HA on every single wild Pokemon. Chained Pokemon also have better IVs and higher shiny rates.

The shortest chain so far that has gotten me a Hidden Ability was 19.

My dartrix killed the little one with razor leaf and missed the totem.
