Yes, the flying drone helps a lot since it scouts more easily and can get you a better sense of the layout and can hack some stuff itself. You can also more easily plan a route for your RC car if a physical hack is required and the quadcopter can more easily get out of view

The stealth is broken due to high detection speed but its definitely pretty manageable using your hacks.

I think its high because you could counteract it by causing distractions on the guards.

Douchebag. Yes, me.
I am enjoying the game, but there seem to be a few things bugging me.

- Gun combat mechanics seems to b a massive step backwards from WD1. Feels kinda sloppy. Definitely not as solid as #1.
- Did they remove thunder storms from the game?? I loved the storms and the lighting effects that WD1 had.

Edit: And let me turn off the fucking reticle when walking around and driving. It's annoying and distracting.

No thunder storms... but also, San Francisco has a thunderstorm once every 10 years if that. And it's usually only about 5-10 lightning flashes.

Is there a way to knock out guards for good if they are temporarily knocked out by blowing an electric box?

They completely redid the rain effects to something much less impressive than WD1. Reminds me of the transition between the rain effects of AC4 and AC:Unity.

Ah that is true. And I believe every single person has that option for when they are hacked so it does make some sense.

I'm pretty sure I've seen them get up on their own several times if hit with an environment-based knock out. If I melee them, they never wake up.

This is correct. They can get up on their own after a certain amount of time. I think the game also mentions this as a tip at some point. Probably on loading screens.

They only wake up if someone else wakes them up.

Not true they will have 3 Z's on their body just like MGS and after some time they wake up on their own. Same with the stun gun.

Sadly there is no way to take them out for good short of putting a bullet to their head.

They don't wake up if you melee them.

The devs even had to say they are "sleeping" because it was ruining some people's non lethal ways.

Never had them wake up on me despite being knocked out with 3 Z's :/

It's impossible to win kart races, right?

Its harder without the "Engine Override/Overload" ability but not impossible. Can't remember the exact name. But your vehicle boost applies to karts as well. Pick your timing of when to boost and you should be able to complete them.

Do pedestrians have a nasty habit of jumping into the way of your vehicle as opposed to jumping out the way? Its really getting on my nerves.

Yep. I've had someone jump into me driving at a high speed. Guess I was too close to the sidewalk or something

I bought the silenced pistol from the printer... It sounds like a regular handgun without the silencer... Wtf?

I hate that it has a scope as well. Just ugly. Does anyone know if there will be a normal silenced gun in the game like the 1911 from the first game?

Jfc, I redeemed the code, but never downloaded it.
Thought I did.
Ugh. I'll go slap myself.

The second code from Amazon was just for 1000 Uplay credits:

1,000 credits redeemable towards in-game content, Watch_Dogs merchandise, and epic experiences.

If you're wondering what the rewards are, there really aren't many. There's 2 vehicles, an outfit (Defalt), and a drone skin. The rest of the rewards are physical merch (2 different t-shirts, some temporary tattoos, iphone 6/6S and Galaxy 6S phone case).

It's a more realistic silencer, that's basically what they actually sound like. If enemies are close enough they will hear you use it.

As for the appearance, I don't care for the scope either but it's good for getting headshots. Paint jobs are cheap!

I absolutely loved The Witcher 3, do you mean WD2 side-missions are as compelling as TW3's ? If so, WD2 is already mine.
I mean, you know the quest in Blood and Wine where you have to find the missing testicles? There's a lot of silly stuff on that level which I liked. The missions are quite short though and without twists.

Eh, no biggie then.

Has anyone found any references to Abstergo or the Assassins in the game? There was a pretty important interaction between Aiden and Abstergo in WD1.

I don't remember what that was from WD1 but one of the earliest side quests had you hack Ubi and there are specific references to names of AC games, so there seems to be a break in continuity there.

I really need to start doing some main missions, I think I've done one since the game came out, lol. I think I'm at 12 hours played too.

The Driver SF missions are a ton of fun. They feel literally like playing the side missions from Driver San Francisco (one of my favorite games from last generation) but with a different main character. I wonder if the writer was the same person.

Good lord, that Eye For An Eye mission.. That was crazy.

Fucking Horatio, man. I always expected him to be a mole for Devon, considering how he's never around during team activities and stuff. but after this and the Nudle mission, he was just working really, really hard while being treated like shit. Feels bad man.

Think I'm going to sell this, get Titanfall 2 in the HMV £20 deal, get something else and then buy it again at a later date on PC. I don't know but I just can't get into it at 30fps with really, really overpowering motion blur. The high FOV is also just not great for my setup, it's one of the only times I'd wish it were lower.

Still, what I played I did enjoy; but I just won't finish it on PS4.

Man some of the data packs are intricate to find, just did one where
I emptied an entire site out, then had to a boost jump with a motorcycle up some containers to get the pack, whew.
Probably could've done that with the rc jump upgrade, but eh.

Oh and the finale to the
Trush mission was amazing. Getting high up with the cranes, then Don't sweat the Technique starts playing... finishing off with a zip ride off the roof.

Amazing game I'm not getting enough of this. The big moments aren't that in your face or bombastic like GTA, but they feel a lot better.

I like it, but I don't love it. It's a good game that threatens to be great but never quite gets there - so far.

At times it really does flirt with excellence but again... it doesn't make it for me.

The gadgets are cool though and I do feel I'm starting to become fairly powerful.

I picked this up on Saturday after reading the hype on the first few pages of this thread and I absolutely love it.

I got the first game bundled with my PS4 and made a fairly large dent in it but I only finished it a few months ago.

This on the other hand, I have not been able to put down since I installed it. I love everything about the game, the punk soundtrack (pretty much a Punk-o-rama comp), the attention to detail (the leaves that land on stationary cars and blow off when driving), the hacking (larger scale, augmented onto the world) and it's the first game in a while whereby I can do stealth correctly!

The variety of missions is brilliant and I haven't gotten bored of any of the side quests yet, I'll definitely be revisiting after I complete the main campaign.

Just finished the Stanford U tower for the data piece. What an awesome puzzle, utilizing a large three-dimensional space. The drone really gives this game a lot of verticality where most open world games stick the ground.

Last night I did a mission from in the
Galilei facility
and holy shit it was fun. I had a fantastic time scoping the location out and, after slightly flubbing my egress I just restarted and ghosted it perfectly. Incredibly satisfying to use all my tools like that, hilariously the thing I spent the most time agonizing over was passing the one last guard standing at the entrance to the secure part of the location on my way out. I spent 5 minutes trying to jump around the guard's area and eventually got ready for a complex timing maneuver but when I hacked the
robot in the lobby the guard went out to see what the problem was, so I was able to disable the alarm and saunter out behind her.

I used the main factory lift to get me to the other side of the complex of course and then it was pretty standard but methodical RC and drone shit to get the mobo, but I loved using the scissor lift to get me back up to the factory crane thing and back to the start. Very satisfying when you can take some extra time and guarantee no one will ever know you were there

I realise it's pretty early and was enjoying generally wandering about not really doing anything until the Cyber Driver stuff, but then Duran Duran - Planet Earth kicked in. Oh man.
