If this turns out to be true, all I ask are for two things to happen (which are pathetically easy to do):
1.) Have more female characters: with an incredible roster to choose from on Marvel's side there is literally no excuse to have only 3-4 female characters, or even worse, exclude any more from showing up in future updates.
2.) Rival Schools does not equal Batsu: There are a plethora of characters in this fantastic game and if you choose the Ryu-esque lead over people that have abilities ranging from 60 yard grand slams to styling concertos then you are missing the point as to why people are asking for reps from this game.
Besides Eighting or Iron Galaxy.... I wouldn't mind seeing CyberConnect get a stab at making MVC 4. Especially if they want a truly epic story mode... just get the Asura's Wrath team on it. I think they could also definitely deliver the best looking version of MVC 4.

As much as I love my Naruto and Asura's Wrath, I think that's a horrible idea. They are amazing at making epic 3D fighters (especially when it comes to cinematic boss fights) that are friendly to casuals but their gameplay mechanisms and depth of combat is very shallow.

Okay finally caught up on this thread in it's entirety.
Nevermind. #TeamReal after picking up on some breadcrumbs I missed not reading the first time. I know it's real when it brings people like MTHanded out of the woodwork
and me
to get hype lol Nothing is as strong as the MvC hype train with how many Marvel fans are on this forum
except Smash Bros. probably, s/o to the Smash Community's passion.
I don't know if I have the stamina for this anymore y'all. During the MvC3 hype train I was procrastinating studying for my undergrad exams and bathing myself in urley hype instead. Now I'm in waist deep in grad school and barely have time to play games anymore let alone post about them but I really want to join in on the wishlisting and arguing based on nuggets of half-truths on character inclusions and in tweets all over again
Now that it seems like there is some rumour vetting going on and it might actually happen, there are so many things I'm excited to learn about:
What artstyle will they use and how will they use more powerful hardware to embrace it?
The Marvel Games people are way too savvy and MvC-fans not to let MSS and X-Men character staples in, right? There hasn't been that much turnover in recent years for them to not go out of their way to ensure that the series' integrity is respected in the roster, right?
Will MvC4 give us a peek into the future of properties Marvel wants to push the same way MvC3 was disturbingly prophetic about?
Has Capcom learned from their MvC3-specific mistakes? Specifically:
Will it be supported as a service, thus avoiding a lot of the patching and content issues that arose post-launch for MvC3?
Will there be safeguards for exploiting histstun deterioration beyond reasonable amounts and will the game achieve a sweet-spot for the upper limit of how long combos are?
How will they evolve X-Factor into a new mechanic that can create the same dramatic momentum shifts but be a bit fairer and make the outcome of the match less dependent around this mechanic? I'm sure Dahbomb and Karst and co. have more to add here. Of course this is assuming that X-Factor stays, but I think more generally we all will expect some sort of "comeback mechanic" that defines the flow of gameplay moreso than traditional fighting game mechanics.
How will they address the lack of story mode [promises] in both MvC3 and SFV and what format will that take?
How many characters, and what is the proportion between quirky picks, series veterans, fan requests, and characters to help promote other properties? This is an absurdly fine balance that simultaneously manages to fulfill people's dreams and disappoint, but ALSO, without fail, always manages to breed new favourites in characters (i.e. Spencer) you didn't know you could grow to love. It's always fascinating to see how new fighting games approach this. I find myself valuing a higher proportion of quirky picks (for some reason they're always missing from roster wishlists too even though it's quite explicitly MvC tradition?), for instance, but I also don't really hold high preferences for certain characters to be in vs. not in.
What will be the concessions they make this time around for newcomers? Will it be in controls? Specific character difficulty (i.e. Spider-Man & Iron Man easier to play than they were in MvC3)? Modes?
Oh god what have I done, I've stepped onto the hype train without even knowing it.

Japan has RF and Cross as top 8 finalists. They also have Takumi as a really strong player plus they have strong talent there who don't travel. Their scene is surprisingly dedicated for a non arcade game.
Hell even top SFV players like Mago, Kazunoko, Eita, Momochi flirted with the game for a while. If there is more monetary incentive and sponsorships not forcing them to practice SF instead of Marvel they would play the game more.
If there's a Marvel 4 and it's fully supported by Capcom Cup then the game is going to explode internationally. Latin America is damn good in it, hell they won an EVO which would have been unthinkable before.
To be fair, Wolverine hasn't been featured in a new (post-CoC) game for almost 2 years now, so it wouldn't be unheard of. Hopefully it won't have to come to that.
I would honestly prefer it...especially if they are tying in the Avengers Infinity War. It just makes sense. The gems are what make MSH stand out and why I still come back to it from time to time. Also could you imagine the lineup? 40 character all Marvel game made by Capcom? Yes. Please.
Would love to see Marvel Super Heroes 2 but it is pretty unlikely to happen.
I'm more of a Marvel fan so a new marvel super heroes game would interest me more than MVC4.

I really hope Capcom give this game the best chance of success possible and put it It on Switch and Xbox One as well. Given how poorly SFV performed, Marvel would do even worse were it to be a PS4/PC exclusive.

A timed exclusive would make sense, too. Sony gets the hardcore audience early but they don't have to miss the Xbox potential. Especially for a US focused game like Marvel where the Xbox One is actually really strong.
Cloud805 is my favorite player as well. He got me interested in the game from watching him on PeacfulJay's 24 hr UMVC3 lobby stream. He was just styling on people.
But now Captain Marvel is getting her own MCU movie, & Ms. Marvel is one of Marvel's biggest new heroes (& one of, if not the, most popular Inhuman that Marvel has right now).
We'd already have Chun-Li & Black Widow voiced by Laura Bailey. As much as I love Fetch, do we really need a third Laura-voiced character (& recasting Fetch would break my heart)?
I will say that the chance is better than 1% which for Marvel fans is more than big enough since a lot of people had given up on Marvel 3 after Marvel 2.
Who was that player on a stream that had 3 fighters left and started fooling around and the opponent caught him and took out his whole team to win with his lone fighter? I know zero was on the team and Captain America was also present.

I was going through an old UMvC3 thread of another forum I go to, and there was something that caught my eye once the game was officially announced alongside Strider, Ghost Rider, Firebrand and Hawkeye. Apparently Lupinko was told about the rest of the roster & the stages and well, here's the list given:
Capcom:
Vergil (DMC3)
Yun (with Yang in one of his hypers)
Asura
Franziska Von Karma
Marvel:
Quicksilver
Psylocke
Venom (the new one, with the guns)
Ultron
The other 6 stages are:
Court Room (with Phoenix and Edgeworth)
Mastermold's Sentinel Factory
A canyony desert similair to a level in MvC2 with Amingo and Ruby Heart in the background
Inside the SHEILD helicarrier in the command window
An Asura's Wrath inspired stage
Aboard a WWII HYDRA themed super zepellin.
There's also the fact that Marvel would of course have final say in the Marvel roster. Given how hard they're pushing both Captain and Ms. Marvel, they would be sure to make it in. Let's just hope this game is what it sounds like and not a card battle game for mobile platforms.
