I really don't understand why everyone are clamouring for a sequel expanding the world without Joel and Ellie. Their characters make up a massive part of what I love about the original, if you take them out, you are left with just another post apocalyptic zombie world.

The funny thing about great characters is that there are always more of them

It won't be out for a while, though. Probably no earlier than fall 2018 (Shawn said it was very early in development). By then it will have been 5 years, which is quite an alright separation imo.

E3 is going to be all Days Gone, GoW4, GTS, Detroit, RDR2, Destiny 2 and if they wont have a European showing prolly Dreams and Wild as well.
Not really expecting to see much more of TLOU 2 until much closer from release, not expecting it at E3 2017 imo.

Despite what people try to claim, their story was not wrapped up and finished. There is still a hell of a lot that can be told there.

Yes I really dislike that. The fact they didn't show gameplay at all means the game literally got greenlighted and this teaser is everything they have done for the game so far. Game will probably launch till holiday 2018 .

Name an industry where this doesn't happen. If there was a book, movie, or other piece of artwork that was as tremendously well received both critically and commercially, then there would be a sequel.

Just be glad that Naughty Dog is handling it and not someone else. With them at the helm, it's entirely possible that the game is as good as or even better than the first game.

Uh that's not true. Plenty of critically acclaimed and commercially well received books and films are standalone.

Hell TLOU's main inspiration is both a book and a movie and neither got a sequel.

Y'know, I'd thought we had the end of Joel and Ellie's story in TLoU.

But that game was Joel's story. Just his.

This trailer suggests that this time it's Ellie's turn to take the lead.

And I am so in.

My feelings were and still are mixed to an extent too, but you can't deny this point.

TLOU really was for a lot of it Joel's arc, with Ellie's, while integral, at the side.

If TLOU2 does it with class this could end up being one of the most potently fleshed pairs of characters in gaming.

To be fair, the fact that they're in the reveal doesn't necessarily mean the game will focus on them. For all we know, one or both of them could be the antagonist this time.
