Thinking that any aspect of a game should be above all criticism is even more ridiculous. When someone finds the story to be a mess it doesn't mean they're "hating" on it, it's criticism. The game has other problems besides its story anyways.

Witcher 3 is a more consistent game that has less problems with it, final fantasy has it's problems but the highs made me enjoy it more as a experience.

The problems with the narrative goes way beyond additional material provided in other formats. Is a mess from chapter 1 to chapter 15.

Chapter 14 finished -
Welp, there it is. Got through the credits and everything. I'm still taking it all in. That final battle didn't quite work for me. I would have liked it if the whole party got to fight Ardyn and then have it be him vs Noct. The ending......is a mixed bag for me. The final camp fire scene works for me, really well. And I liked the little touch at the end with the title card reveal. Thing is, a lot of it didn't feel earned at all. The stuff between the main four was absolutely great, and made the game worth playing in my opinion. But, and as someone who really wanted to love this game considering how long I waited this pains me to admit, I didn't give two shits about King Regis's death or Luna's entire existence. I don't know if it's because there was cut content or stuff that got lost in the sauce of development hell, but it feels like it's missing a whole lot. I wanted to give a shit about Luna and Noct, but we didn't get enough of anything to care about them. I've got so many other thoughts on this game, but overall, I'm glad I played it, but there's a lot of disappointment too, which pains the hell out of me.

Whoa, just saw an ad for the game on the Big 10 Championship game. It showed X1 footage. Don't know if that was a great look for the game.

I know that feelI have multiple Regalia car skins... even some DLC ones.... but I still jumped at spending 2,000 Gil for a new Regalia car skin. Now I barely have any cash....

I would say FFVIII, XII, and FFVIII were very threadbare and had so pretty bad way of delivering plot points and connecting them all together. I enjoyed all of those though, be cause the overall story was interesting.
Maybe b/c it's late and i've been playing for 3 days straight, but I lost it at that.
I'll say that FFVIII has a bad story but it does have the luxury of pacing that gives each plot point time to breathe and be filled out, even if it is all total nonsense. XV is bad in a different way. To me, it's the first mainline FF that has development that's felt extremely rushed to the detriment of the story.
I dunno, if you're only on chapter 10 then maybe you'll change your mind because that's right after the open world part, the best part of the game, and when they really just start rushing through.

Not hard at all but it took me
2 days (in-game time)
My playtime is 103 hours but most of the the time I spent pausing the game/sitting in the car for some AP, so it should be around 85 hours. And the hardest trophy for me is Faithful Heir.
I think the pacing really depends on how much stuff you use the time in between quests to do. I've been trying not to just rush to each chapter.
It might be tiny and irrelevant in the grand scale of the game but the simple things like driving along the road and then stopping when a herd of beasts cross the road puts a smile on my face. It's like a miniature Jurassic Park moment when you encounter the different herds that do it.
Yeah I'm breaking them. Guess I'm just unlucky.

Just had a crash and bug pop up.
Was doing the Pilgrimage quest to see the meteor (?) and rolled up to a blockade in front of it. The Empire walks out and we start fighting.
And it crashes.
I load it back up which the auto save was right down the road and I walk up to the blockade and it just says "The Empire put up a blockade" and nothing happens.
The quest is also gone from my quest log.
As we start down the road to another quest marker, the boys start chatting about how neat it was to see the meteor up close....
I'm guessing it auto completed even though I didn't do anything inside... is this going to bite me in the ass later? Like I needed an item from there or I needed the blockade gone later?

Gotta hold it uninterrupted for a while, probably about 4-6 seconds if I had to estimate. Best sprint to a safe spot first though..!!

While we're at it my chocobo refuses to sprint outside of races. Any advice?
It puts them in a Vulnerable state and lets you just wail on them for a while.

If I understand it right it does wonders for breaking their defense. You can get some real damage in.
I had this happen, although the game didn't crash, it just reloaded me back to the gate and no enemies came through.
I manually reloaded my save and beat the dudes. You're still unable to pass through the gate. Probably open up later during a story mission or something.
Square is the sprint button on PS4. The meter can go down. If you're not seeing that and the button doesn't work...maybe a bug?
I wish the car had an airlock so I could toss him out of it.
Seriously, a cutscene ever time I want to drive at night? Who thought that was a good idea?

Just finished. 40 hours on the clock. I probably could have done more of the sidequests and stuff but eh, I can do them later if I want.
I really liked the ending but it's definitely lacking the punch it should have because it doesn't build enough to make it resonate as much. The last fight itself was pretty lame especially compared to the fight just before it. There was also a lot of missed opportunities with Chapter 14 in general. Actually, that's the game in general.
That said, the game was pretty fun and there's a lot to like. I'm hoping the DLC is substantial and adds to the story but if that happens, I'd be kinda salty about it.

I forget what level I was but with high beams on the car he'll just drive as normal. Honestly with fast travel I tended to not encounter that talk with him even early on.
