Sorry for the Twitter quality shot, but I just had to share this one since it may as well be the best pic my Prompto took in my 8:30hrs of playing the game:

Welcome to the Twilight Zone. Here's mine lol

I enjoyed Kingsglaive today and started FFXV. I do feel like there are WAY too many sidequests and they have little to no importance. I might just go through the story.

Plus if you wanna save up EXP you're gonna be wasting time at night too

Fast travel at night unlocks at 30. Don't bother saving up until then + when you have Chocobo. And there's a 3x EXP place much later. E: You also want EXP boosting food.

Yes you should go through the story first.

Someday maybe we can jam to this in the dune buggy on the central continent. And those mountains will be THIS beautiful.

I just got to Altissia but I decided to do the Umbra thing and (spoilers I guess)
time travel back to before I went to Altissia. I'm getting this questline about earthquakes or something. Is this the post game questline people were talking about that is apparently really good?

Anyone else getting insane loading times after beating the game?

It was bad before but tolerable, now it's utterly ridiculous.

So finally got to the location for a photo quest buut it was nighttime. >_< Which, of course, was the perfect opportunity for me to take a break and get some food while 8 in-game hours passed -- ahh man that sunrise is nice.

Nice ahaha. I like that they aren't exactly the same still. Different lighting, positioning is different, Prompto's face is slightly different too.

Whatever system they use for the Prompto pics is really cool. These seemingly random shots are sometimes quite good.

I only have the minimap and button prompts off, but yeah, it already makes a big difference to me. I'm sure a lot of people don't have that issue, but I always end up playing looking at the minimap instead of the game. So having such a quick map button on R3, I can play without it with no issues at all. Loving it.
Yeah it's the same with me. Been going back and forth between all off or just the basic HUD with map off.

The on HUD elements always end up taking most of my attention, even if I'm trying to ignore them, so it feels less like a journey somewhere and more like a countdown to my destination.

If you could have the health and tech bar turned on as a passive for when you get into battle while also keeping the waypoints and other indicators off at all times, that would be amazing.

I spammed dual/quadcast Fira (I think) while chugging potions to beat them. Just focus on spamming techs and keeping everyone alive between casts.
Yeah, they hit very hard. You met them at a dead end canyon? It sucks, cause you have no space to maneuver and they're quick as lightning.

I had trouble killing coeurls even when my level was higher.

You have to be extra careful to not warp into them when their whiskers is brimming with lightning.

Prompto's techniques that weaken enemies should come in hand.

Magic packs a punch too, iirc they're weak to fire.

When using magic, try to use Ignis's Regroup first, so your party is away from the magic when you cast it.
A Couerl alone is waaaay easier than more than one, though. You can basically just get behind it and keep wailing without it even doing much to you.

When there's more than one you can't just do that because the other one is running around doing it's damaging AoE. The insta kill move is devestating to the AI too. While you can be smart enough to not run at it while they sit down, the AI blunder in like fools.

Either way, I recommend tanking up with defence food and getting some Phoenix Downs just in case your team mates go full retard. Also make sure you just watch out yourself that you don't run into them while they're charging up the insta-kill.
Thanks for all the help everyone!

Now to go kick those oversized house cats straight to the moon.

Iris: "The breeze feels so good!"
Noct: *disgusted sound*

This guy can't even pretend to be likable. Why can't she be interested in literally anybody else?

The animation Iris does when
you do a link-strike (or was it blindside??) with her and she gives you a potion and you pat her on the head and then she spins around
was so stupid...but cute.

Just finished the game at 35 hours, did over 50 sidequests (wish I hadn't).

I have never seen a game absolutely crumble in both story and gameplay quality as chapter 13 of XV. The ending would have been somewhat decent but
the rapid decline in plot/characterization made me completely stop caring about the story by then
.

Overall a 3/5 game for me.

I'm up to Lestallum and am enjoying the exploration at this point, but I really don't feel attached to the characters at all. Hopefully this changes as the game progresses.

Oh yeah, you have a phone, but for whatever reason you have to go back to tell people in person that you've completed a quest.

It's funny how for a game that's only really been in development for a few years, many of the design decisions certainly feel a decade old.

Is there any trophies tied to difficulty level? If I was to drop it down to easy.

Just one boss. You can change the difficulty back just for that (repeatable) fight.

That's like the definition of a bandaid instead of a cure.

Want to use magic? Regroup!

Want you allies stay out of danger? Regroup! (if you manage to cast it before the attack)

Want to cure your allies after a strong attack? Regroup!

Want to reposition your characters? Regroup!

You don't get it? The game offers a wide selection of movility and management options for all the needs the game throws at you. Git gud son! /s

It should be RGB if you have a B6... not sure with other TVs

What's the reasoning behind this? I don't see a lot of consensus on which is best when searching about the topic.

Some are saying that RGB is 8 bit and YUV420 is 10 bit, which means far more colors in the YUV420, but RGB make look a bit sharper?

Really hard to make sense of all this.

Finished it today. Took about 45 hours, with a max level of
55
. What a super weird game. I'm glad it exists, and I loved it, but it is very uneven and fragmented. I'm actually amazed the game came out and is as good as it is. Really an accomplishment to be proud of.

My favorite stuff is by far the dungeons. The dungeons in this game are all really great with the exception of maybe one or two. The one
by insomnia
was my favorite, even though it made me rage a bit lol.

R1 + R3 is permalock but even that is pretty unreliable.

Very true. You helped me with this last night, but so far I haven't been 100% sure on whether I locked on or not. The other annoying thing about all this is how often I open the map in the middle of battles. Why on Earth did the devs decide to enable the goddamn world MAP in battle? (might have made a pun, totally intended)

I'm now about 6 hours into the game, and the battle system is just a huge mess to me. God, I miss Bloodborne. :(

Don't get caught up in sidequests. Blitz through the main story and come back to them later.

I think I decided to try this, but seeing how I barely know what I'm doing during fights, my boss battles have been extremely anticlimactic.

can you manually use Libra in Active Battle ?

Also why does the game reset libra for every battle ?

Heck, enemies of the same type in the SAME battle do not share Libra.

Very, very weird,FFXIII did Libra way better.

People hyping up Regroup too much. More often than not enemies will swarm you or Ignis will have everyone gather up right in the middle of enemies lmao. I just stopped giving a fuck about my allies and cast whenever I want. Although the noises they proceed to make especially Prompto are annoying
