Steam Winter Sale 2016 thread of hoping for better deals elsewhere

I have been playing the Metagame of selling all my cards but I cant idle fast enough even with the glitch as it doesnt work all the time and you have to clear inventory at 100.

Up to $110

So yeah Batman Arkham Knight is in a much better state than when it released, no? I'm not expecting amazing performance but at least playable. I really enjoyed the previous Arkham games and have yet to play this.

Usually, I don't bite on games that aren't at least 67% off, but Ori (50% off) and Hyper Light Drifter (40%) seem pretty damn tempting to break that rule. Been meaning to play those ever since they were released. Still have enough on my plate to push it back until the next sale though.

I wish you could put in the maximum you're willing to spend then I wouldn't have to click through 100 pages to get to my cheap ass price range lol

Just like last time, my wishlist quickly went from 5 to 50 games since the sale started.

Just like last time, I'll eliminate games from it over the next few days until it has 5 games again.

Just like last time, on the final day of the sale, I'll choose a single game for purchase.

Just like last time, I'll play it for 3-4 hours and deeply regret my choice.

I love Steam sales.

theres only 3 rpg series better than the FF series

and thats Persona, Shadow Hearts and the mainline SMTs

thats factual

No RPG like Shadow Hearts 1 and 2 can take my top spot in RPG excellence.

What are some good online co-op games?

My buddies and I are scattered all across the country so we're always trying to find new games to play. We've gotten our competitve fix with stuff like Overwatch and various MOBAs but now we're just looking for something we can co-op in.

Big, meaty games that we can take our time with like Divinity or Borderlands are ideal. Also 4 or more players is preferable

My wishlist is zooming towards 250 games, I can't even fathom having one that low.

Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight
That is where you start

Welp, Project Cars, Ikaruga (I didn't even know it had a pc version. I've always wanted to play it) and Satellite Reign.
Pretty good first day, I think.

Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human is much much worse than I expected it to be. It's a big empty annoying world, and the whole game is just frustrating boss fights. Surprised at how little I liked it. I would strongly recommend against buying.

Castle in the Darkness is a hard Metroidvania that I liked a lot. Your sword's radius gets longer later, so just suffer through the first 15-20 minutes when it's excessively hard and frustrating. Totally worth it in the end.

Lovely Planet Arcade is currently available for cheaper elsewhere. I believe it's less warmly received than the original Lovely Planet, but still well liked. I haven't played.

Broforce I liked less than most. It's certainly zany and maybe if you had someone to play it with you you'd like the cheese, but I found it just OK and a little lacking in variety. I wouldn't recommend against buying but it just didn't do it for me.

Does Abzu have a story or is it more of a "swim and enjoy this beautiful artstyle" kind of game?

As far as I understand, think Journey. In that it's basically a linear experience, not a swim and enjoy the world kind of thing, but the story is abstract and not heavyhanded.

a lot of games aren't even matching discounts they've had many times in the past

seems like it's better to just wait for random normal sales during the year to get better deals

I just got a USB SNES controller. Any games that would be great for it on sale?

Why the hell is Chrono Trigger not on steam?!

I beat Abzu in two hours and struggled to stretch out my play time to reach that. Anyone could beat it in 90 minutes without really trying. Game is absurdly short.
I explored trying to find those fish ponds and shit, so that's how I got the extra hour in.

It has a lot of lore hidden in the scenery that you have to put together yourself. I enjoyed it for what it's worth.

Abzu is great if you are into that sort of experience and enjoy looking at fish and swimmin'

It's fun.

also 75% off lovely planet arcade is enticing

Broforce!

Towerfall is great if you like Gang Beasts for the gameplay and not just the ragdoll stuff -- there's also an 8 player version on itch.io if you'd prefer that.

OVERCOOKED

It's not co-op but Starwhal has become a regular party hit at my place.

Cool thanks for the suggestions!

I guess I didn't necessarily mean co-op, just 2+ player local party games.
