Horizon Zero Dawn - Preview Thread [Up: All Previews Live]

Well, there aren't many ways to fuck up a "flat delivery" when it's purposeful. Besides all of those times when he DID show emotion through his voice acting, though. But whatever, I'm making a point here. I wasn't actually bothered by the delivery.

As to the scene we're talking about, it isn't actually badly animated. The animations are fine, if a bit discordant with what's happening. But all in all, fine. The voice acting isn't top-of-the-shelve, but it isn't absolutely horrendous either, and it definitely wouldn't be out of place between those dutch-sounding basterds and random-guy-in-the-woods in The Witcher 3.

This literally looks like the result of a misplaced and forgotten keyframe.

For the case of Deus Ex HR specifically, also understand that we had access to the first eleven hours of the game six months before release, and had a good idea of what that game was going to be. With MD, we had the assumption that it was more Deus Ex HR.

Horion is a new IP and is unproven. I hope it's great.
Horizon is also developed by a company who has never made a game like this before, lets not ignore that fact. W3 and Deus Ex are well-known and well-proven RPGs, they have time and experience with multiple games behind them.

For a first attempt at an RPG from a primarily FPS driven company, I think what we've seen is pretty damn good, character clearly has mental illness so of course there's going to be awkwardness to the whole scene. It could have been better, but it wasn't that bad IMO.

That's my opinion on the matter anyways, I too hope it turns out great.

I feel like people are missing the forest from the bad cutscenes. The combat looks great. The open world looks like an amazing playground for hunting robo-dinos.

On the other hand, EVERYTHING should be amazing. This is Sony's new big AAA IP, that voice acting and those animations are unacceptable. Literally felt like I was watching the sequel to The Room.

Haven't seen any of the new media/Pro footage. But by the sounds of it, seems you guys are good with it so I'm good. Can't wait to play this baby on the Pro.

3. Discover campfires for save points and quick travel

Campfires need to be unlocked through discovery, but once you’ve done so they double up as save points (quick or manual save for alternate save points) and fast travel points. The game will also automatically save during quests.
10. Humans aren’t as endangered as you might think

The Nora tribe. Bizarre cultists. Violent bandits. Cocky strangers. Travelling merchants. Pockets of humanity are hidden in multiple locations across the map… and they’ve usually got a side-quest request.

You're right and like I said, if gameplay is great, this doesn't matter in the least in the grand scheme. Previews seem pretty positive so far.

Looks insanely good. I am literally considering buying a PRO for this game.

This is primarily why I bought mine. Well, that and the fact that I sold my original PS4 before it was announced that the "Neo" would not have a UHD player anyway.

Yea everything should be perfect on the very first try.....man some of you and your expectations. Wait for the uncharted 1 to uncharted 2 jump. This is just laying the foundation for a new ip.

he criticizes Sony plenty

nice try warrior
what?

i'm not console warrior-ing, i quoted a person who said that expressing concern about a poor cutscene is "naysaying"

do y'all not remember what happened with no man's sky? blind hype isn't helpful.

fallout 4 got roasted for shitty animations. people roasted me:andromeda for shitty animations. we shouldn't give this a pass.
