Well, there aren't many ways to fuck up a "flat delivery" when it's purposeful. Besides all of those times when he DID show emotion through his voice acting, though. But whatever, I'm making a point here. I wasn't actually bothered by the delivery.
As to the scene we're talking about, it isn't actually badly animated. The animations are fine, if a bit discordant with what's happening. But all in all, fine. The voice acting isn't top-of-the-shelve, but it isn't absolutely horrendous either, and it definitely wouldn't be out of place between those dutch-sounding basterds and random-guy-in-the-woods in The Witcher 3.
Horizon is also developed by a company who has never made a game like this before, lets not ignore that fact. W3 and Deus Ex are well-known and well-proven RPGs, they have time and experience with multiple games behind them. For the case of Deus Ex HR specifically, also understand that we had access to the first eleven hours of the game six months before release, and had a good idea of what that game was going to be. With MD, we had the assumption that it was more Deus Ex HR.
Horion is a new IP and is unproven. I hope it's great.

This literally looks like the result of a misplaced and forgotten keyframe.
Those characters animation during cutscene though, looks extremely robotic.Or maybe it's intentional?
why'd you spoiler tag that...or do you know something lol
you mean greg miller, who runs the show "PS I Love You", said this new first party game from sony looks good?First thing Greg Miller says "it's fucking awesome". Forget all you naysayers who are judging the game on one scene.

I've played a few hours of The Last Guardian.
It's frustrating, antiquated, and pretty.
I don't want to go back to it.
Wow big words from Kinda Funny, really glowing previews.
EDIT: oh we still stuck on cutscene animation? lol
3. Discover campfires for save points and quick travel
Campfires need to be unlocked through discovery, but once youve done so they double up as save points (quick or manual save for alternate save points) and fast travel points. The game will also automatically save during quests.
https://blog.eu.playstation.com/201...we-discovered-from-playing-horizon-zero-dawn/10. Humans arent as endangered as you might think
The Nora tribe. Bizarre cultists. Violent bandits. Cocky strangers. Travelling merchants. Pockets of humanity are hidden in multiple locations across the map and theyve usually got a side-quest request.

Nothing wrong with animations in this scene.
Yeah, the same who shits on PS4 Pro.
Greg is often harsher on Sony and Sony products than many non Sony fans tbh, so...you mean greg miller, who runs the show "PS I Love You", said this new first party game from sony looks good?

Looks insanely good. I am literally considering buying a PRO for this game.
mine from Ars Technica: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/...awn-made-me-crazy-with-anticipation-for-more/
I'll be online to answer questions about my play. But, my oh my, did I like what I saw.
Yea everything should be perfect on the very first try.....man some of you and your expectations. Wait for the uncharted 1 to uncharted 2 jump. This is just laying the foundation for a new ip.I feel like people are missing the forest from the bad cutscenes. The combat looks great. The open world looks like an amazing playground for hunting robo-dinos.
On the other hand, EVERYTHING should be amazing. This is Sony's new big AAA IP, that voice acting and those animations are unacceptable. Literally felt like I was watching the sequel to The Room.
what?he criticizes Sony plenty
nice try warrior
