Just experienced the blood moon for the first time, and man, the effects that the landscape goes through as it approaches are really creepy. I was really confused until the cutscene started.

2 divine beasts down, about 40 hours on the clock. Lost track how many shrines I've done, probably not even 50 yet, and a whole bunch of memories still left to find.

There's a guy who will give you hints, but otherwise, you're just supposed to look at landmarks and work it out.

When that dude looked at my last picture (bottom right) and knew where it was, I wanted to call bullshit. Motherfucker, it's just trees in that picture. How did you know.

Luckily I had a lot of that kinda food on hand. I got him down now anyway. My method
was to just run until the lightning has discharged again. It's surprisingly easy to avoid just boosting with sprint out of the way as he starts to move.

You could use the Magnesis to hover a pole over his head. The lighting will struck it and knock him down, leaving him open to be attacked. I died so many times during this fight I think Zelda gave me the tip.

Thinking back about when the game was revealed. Its funny some were worried about the lack of People or Towns.

This game has very charming NPC's. They started running for cover when it started raining

Are the Expansion chests on Plateau?
The DLC ones? Yeah I found them near the shrine where the decay Guardians were

So I'm only about 6 hrs. in as I'm playing slowly and methodically to take it all in...it's crazy how much it feels like I've done and seen already and I've barely dented the Great Plateau, let alone the entire game lol...

It's almost too daunting but in such a good way....the scope of this game continues to amaze me every time I pick it up. Something or someone new around every corner, this game has enveloped me like almost nothing before.

I can't even begin to imagine what I'll see and find as I put more hours in....

Trying to max out my champ tunic and my god farming Naydra horns is a huge pain in the ass compared to farosh.

I can only imagine Dinraal is going to be even worse.

First dungeon spoiler

So I got inside the first dungeon after fighting the thing while riding on that Zora's back....

Cool sequence but I've got to say... Having to aim with right stick to then let it go to hit A to break the ice is really annoying. I wish we could use one of the trigger or bumper.

63 shrines and only 47 korok seeds, I'm ashamed of myself.

It's not like I intentionally avoid them either, and I climb plenty of places!

I think I'm done with the game. I respect the game design choices, but it's clearly not for me. I really disliked playing what little I did of the Souls games, too. It's not a flaw in the game design; it's just not my style of game. I just don't to be tested in every single action I make. I don't want to worry about my weapons breaking after almost every enemy, running out of arrows before I even finish one of the enemies off, not being able to go to the snowy area right now after my 10-12 hours because I can't survive for more than a minute or so, or not being able to swim a hundred feet to a location I see out in the water.

The gameplay is not approachable at all. I have no doubt it's rewarding, but I just like more approachable games and I guess I had hoped not every single aspect of the game would be so difficult.

I respect the heck out of the game world, though. They did a splendid job on filling it with interesting landmarks, people, and things to do.

You just have to let go of the right trigger to shoot an arrow. Have you been hitting A this whole time?

So you can grab mini golems and throw them like the skeleton heads (might have to cool/heat the elemental ones before though). A Lizalfos actually showed me that trick, by throwing one at my face.

Funny thing too, I was being chased by a guardian when
the first zora telling you to go to meet sidon showed up.

I was like "I'm a little busy here!"

Hmm. I met some coward on top of a tower who told me about Sidon. Glided all the way to the tower where he was. Cutscene activated as though I'm on the ground lol. First bits of dialogue he's talking to the ground.

I think the whole "shock and awe" part was lost on me when two happened literally seconds apart from each other, and then one more occurred about five minutes later for good measure.

There are like zoras scattered throughout that marshy area pointing you to it.

Found some pics of the amiibo outfits. Going to force my friend to let me borrow his whenever I go back to the game to finish 100%

I mean, I'd LIKE to say it's fine, but I spent $60 on it so I wish I liked it more.

I feel of two very different minds with it, btw. I think there are INCREDIBLE things about the game. I just get so frustrated any time I have to deal with the survival or combat aspects of it.

But yeah, 2017 has been an embarrassment of riches so far.

I used arrows for all that. Figured the area dumped them on you for a reason.

Gotta hoard them arrows...see

Bummer, it was certain to turn off a few people. I would suggest maybe looking up some hints, tips, tricks, recipes, etc online and see if you can make it through the main story as the divine beasts are really fun. Most things can be approached multiple ways and it sounds like you may not be using everything at your disposal, this isn't supposed to be a brawler/fighter.

i.e. swimming to a far out location. Why not use Cryonis and hop your way out there? That's how someone got to Eventide.

For cold weather, cook up some elixirs, carry a torch, a flamesword or just wait until you find some cold gear, plenty of other things to do. For weapons, try using your skills more. Bombs to harm enemies, Magnesis to toss things into them, lure them to edges and knock them off, etc. Skip some fights, I do it all the time. Smash every ore deposit you find and sell the jewels so you can buy more arrows and/or cooking materials. Don't hoard resources.

The weapons get better and become more frequent/last longer as you progress. I'm finding that I'm actually having to leave weapons behind at this point.

Anyway just some positive vibes to hopefully help you stick with it.

Remember people. If you want to try some rather risky travel methods just time stop an iron cube, pick a direction you launch and hit the cube, then climb on the side.

And hope the landing doesn't kill you.

Sometimes I forget I even have cryonsis.

I didn't like the Thunder Plateau, I solve puzzle that in the jankiest way possible. And I'm not even talking about the shrine itself

Thanks bro. What are elixirs by the way? I see the word in the descriptions of the a lot of the items, but I don't know how to make one or how to use it or how long it lasts or anything.

There's just so many layers to the gameplay that it's BEYOND overwhelming for me. This is probably heresy to many, but I REALLY wish there was an easy mode, where stamina lasts way longer, weapons last way longer, arrows are much more prevalent, etc. ARGH, now I just made myself mad thinking about it because I would adore the game if there was something like that.

besides selling stuff are there any other trial type things to get some quick rupees?

been doing the bird-man thing at Ridgeland tower which nets you 100 rupees for going 600m (well 80 since you have to pay him 20 to do it) and didn't know if there was another trial type thing elsewhere you can do for some easy $$$$.

Elixirs are what you get when you throwsome monster parts into a cooking pot with a bug or lizard.
