Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy |OT| N.Teresting and N.Tertaining N.Fographics With-N

People are really having issues with Crash 1, huh? I played the original game on PS3 and beat both Native Fortress and Road to Nowhere rather handily...and that's with the input lag that comes with the PS3's emulation on PS1. Is the remaster considerably harder or something?

I'd say the remaster is easier if anything.

Crash 1 is Uncharted 1.

A rough as fuck game that's only here to lay the groundwork for much better sequels.

I'm still gonna beat it though.

Road to Nowhere reminds me how some elements of these games are hard for all the wrong reasons.

Other than that this is a pretty warts-and-all remake, even though it's certainly a heartfelt one. As someone with some nostalgia for Crash (mostly Crash 3) this is enjoyable.

Nah, game controls considerably better.
I think you're better at this game than most of us here.

Game doesn't seem THAT hard.

I'm in that underground tomb right now.

Are lots of people giving up already around this point? Does it get much harder?

So you guys had the even easier version all along.

European version is the "hardest" but i wouldn't really say its that much harder lol
American version is the usual.
Japanese version is the easiest. Well, AkuAku gives you hints all the time.

Oh and let's just say the HD remaster annoys me that it gives too many hints that are basically just "how to do it" not a hint lol

oh and the 3 flame bounce pads in native fortress could be jumped across without stopping in the original, and now its too hard. thats why people struggling.

road to nowhere is just.. road to nowhere being a bitch!!

Geez, Road to Nowhere is that bad? I don't remember it being that hard when I was a kid.

I have vivid memories of suffering. Whenever I thought I'd miss a jump, I'd freak out and start jumping about trying to correct myself, which always made it worse and put me on edge. The entire stretch between Roo and Kong was a big jump in difficulty as I recall. Plus, I was using the code inputs instead of saves, so I was starting with 4 lives each time.

Glad to see people are getting the authentic experience :) You haven't seen anything yet.

Native Fortress is BEATEN

OH GAME DON'T YOU TRY TO MAKE ME FEEL BAD ABOUT NOT GETTING ALL THE BOXES I DON'T CARE

And here I thought I'd just walk through the door as an older, grizzled, more capable adult and potentially crank through the first unlike in my younger years. Reading this thread, it looks like I'm so wrong. So dead, dead wrong :(

Hah, I beat Road to Nowhere. That level was hellish... until I discovered you can WALK ON THE ROPES!!! All you have to do is jump diagonally into them, and then it's smooth sailing. Much easier, lol.

NATIVE FORTRESS IS FUCKING BRUTAL.

BTW you can get some really easy gold trophies if you use Coco. Five spin attacks on enemies gets you a gold, drop kicks in the second game gets you another gold...etc.

I gotta say, Im kinda surprised about how difficult people are finding Road To Nowhere that hard, even withouth using the ropes I didnt thought it was that hard, pretty standard

High Road tho, no way I can do it without the ropes these days.

Is anybody locked out of the Crash themes?

I have them in my Select Theme folder, but there's a lock, and it says I have to purchase them from the Store. When I go to the Store, it says they're purchased.

Okay, finished Crash 1. Now I have to make the decision if I want to jump straight into Cortex Strikes Back or if I go for the 100% which will completely destroy me. I mean, especially the relics are gonna be a pain the ass.

Go to Settings then PSN Network account then hit "Restore Licences" the PS4 will redownload all of your digital content licenses. That should fix the problem for you.

Is there any benefit to getting the relics in Crash 1 or 2? Is it just for completionist sake really? It's not like they get new endings or such right?

So am I just that bad getting 2 game overs for Crash 1 (Want to play by release order). Is crash 2 and 3 easier than this.

Nah man, I'm getting regular game overs per level now, and I'm at the last island.

I thought the same. U r not e

Native Fortress is BEATEN

OH GAME DON'T YOU TRY TO MAKE ME FEEL BAD ABOUT NOT GETTING ALL THE BOXES I DON'T CARE

well to be fair you need a coloured gem to get all the boxes anyway so don't worry about it just now

WHAAAA????

Getting the colored gem on The Lost City is brutal.

Yeah, f**k that. Coloured gems seem like a fool's errand so far =/

It's not that bad, but strangely I just kept missing the first turtle jump no matter what >_<

So yesterday as one of the earlier players in the thread I made this statement based off my first experience with Native Fortress.
(I'm guessing Native Fortress was a kidslayer, and it can be again!)

I mean, it was a hunch...

Holy shit, this is so much more difficult than I remember.

Native Fortress just absolutely ruined me!

Native Fortress is still a very difficult level!

Holy fucking shit at Native Fortress. I don't remember this level being this hard in the original. I've already lost like 12 lives and I'm not even done.

I'm also struggling on Native Fortress. Think I must've died 15 times now, it's really difficult.

holy shit Native Fortress is killing me

You guys jinxed me

what the fuck is up with Native Fortress D;

The Native Fortress level is just ugh. I can never tell where I am supposed to be jumping at because the depth is all weird and I ran out of lives because of those shield people. Time to jump back to Crash 2 for a little bit before I go back into it.

Native Fortress felt like it went on forever.

The Lost City is some bullshit though.

Native Fortress was... wew. Tough.

After spending six years on Native Forest I started to notice that it felt like Crash's model was stuttering quite frequently. Has anyone noticed something like this?

wtf Native Fortress is quite the difficulty spike

That level is ridiculous. I must have gone through 15 lives trying to finish it.

After 2 hours of death I finally beat Native Fortress

Holy fuck

Yup, the difficulty of Native Fortress is real. Well, the difficulty of certain sections, anyway. I wasted about a dozen lives trying to get past the three fire-pots in a row jumping-section.
That's right, just because I have a Crash avatar doesn't mean I'm actually good at these games :P
.

Native Fortress really kicked my ass (as per usual) and I love it.

Native fortress 3 fire jump pads timing is different. The timing is CRAZY tight.
If you can do that stage without losing a life, props to you.

Holy crap I don't remember Native Fortress being this hard.

FUCK

NATIVE

FORTRESS

Native Fortress is kicking my ass, I honestly don't think I can do it.

Just demolished native fortress after 15 tries. My hand hurts after punching the pillow in anger multiple times. The controls are as bad as it was, not sure if I'm happy that they kept the bad controls.

Full credit to anyone who gets the platinum relic on Native Fortress, because fuck me.

Well, ashamed to admit I died so many times in Native Fortress the game gave me a pity checkpoint.

Native Fortress was a huge pain in the ass

This Native Fortress time trial is killing me

Native Fortress can fuck right off as ever. Spent ages stuck there when I first played through Crash 1, and now is no different.

Adoring the remaster in general though.

I just wasted like 20 lives on Native Fortress and I still haven't beaten it, I don't remember it being this hard. Forget time trials though when I can't even beat the damn level.

The Native Fortress struggle is real, WTF

Edit: okay, I think I just had a checkpoint dynamically added in Native Fortress. Either that or I missed it last time :lol

Holy fuck at Native Fortress! Most of my lives were lost in that fucking level. My OCD won't let me play Crash 2 before beating 1 lol, but I can't play too much today so that'll be it for today. Tomorrow though... we're playing Crash all day tomorrow!

Finally beat Native Fortress, only took 25 lives and a couple restarts! lol

I had to stop playing Native Fortress last night because it was getting so frustrating.

My Crash skills are so rusty.

Already got 3 game overs on Native Fortress.

Also why are lives and game overs still a thing.

Native Fortress is a sad level. Someone hurt it, and its lashing out at me as a result. I want to love it, but I just don't know how.

Really makes me wanna skip to Crash 2, like so bad.

NATIVE FORTRESS IS FUCKING BRUTAL.

Fortress
1. a large fortified place; a fort or group of forts, often including a town; citadel.
2. any place of exceptional security; stronghold.

Well that checks out, we all suffer toegether my friends.
I haven't seen a hilarious turnout of shock at a sudden stage difficulty spike since that Bat in DKCR.

My partner is complaining about the game bring glitchy.

Or, she's just bad at turtle jumps, you decide :p

I dont think you can call it glitchy, its just not the same as the original anymore. Just completed the game and The High Road is imo the hardest level in the game. Kind of feel sorry for the people who are struggling with the Native Fortress. It gets way harder.

Played the first handful of levels. Died a few times getting used to things since I've never played the game before but really enjoyed what I played. I actually got a gem! Can't wait to play more later.

Got one game over on Native Fortress, then beat it. The hog level before it took a shit ton of my lives. Couldn't get the timing down for some reason at one part. Didn't find it that hard, just annoying.
