The overall quality of amiibo has increased in recent years.
The significantly lower weight of the pro controller compared to the gamepad definitely bugged me when starting out but I absolutely refuse to play on anything other then max sensitivity.
Its nice that you can play gyro while being kind of lazy in your posture with the smaller pro controller and the higher sensitivity but its also annoying when I keep putting the controller down on my lap to type something or answer a text and it falls off ;(
And doesn't revive you either, even when you call for help.
Luckily you can just move to where they're shooting paint so you come back to life. Would be really frustrating if a player had to press a specific button to revive you...

So I'm in the US and bought the UK digital version yesterday- am I stuck in UK splatfests?
Bought and downloaded this morning. Filesize was a lot smaller than I expected. Was able to get it DL'd in the time it took me to take a shower with time to spare. Good on Nintendo for keeping that shit in check.
Stuck at work though, but I'll get in on the freshness when I get out at 5. Not sure if I'll go to single player or just say fuck it and get right into multiplayer.

There's definitely an increase in difficulty at one point. As I said there was a match where there were a shit load of bosses on screen at the same time, fog and the tide had turned so the map got smaller.
Ultimately I think they should have more than 3 rounds, with difficulty increasing with each round. Maybe double it or something.

Can't wait to play this later! I'm dying for some impressions over here. Where are all my hardcore Splatoon 1 players at? Give me the details! How does this "feel" in comparison? I haven't even had a chance to play any of the Splatfests so I'm itching for details.

There were some differences on Wii U. The most unique was Japan though. They put straight up ads into the Splatfests there.

Hmm... I'm at 7 and it doesn't want to give me a second piece of gear. I didn't use it until I was maybe level 5 though.

Yeh, so this game is amazing. Love everything about it.
It's a more polished, fleshed out Splatoon. Visually impressive, Salmon Run is amazing and I really hope they do more with it, gameplay feels faster but tigher. I do hope they extend Salmon Run as so far it's only 3 waves from what I have seen, I would love to see new environments and waves. Huge potential here, but I feel like right now it's more testing the waters than really being pushed as a gameplay mode.
Speaking of, the single player campaign in the original seemed short and like an extended tutorial, it looks like they actually went in and had a good go at the campaign this time round which I really enjoy as the originals single player mode I felt was a massively underrated component of the game that deserved more praise.
Only gripe is the 'Reach lvl 10' before unlocking ranked mode as Turf Wars is my least favourite mode and not being able to change weapons between rounds. I still don't understand that one.
So yeh, it's a bigger, more polished version of the original that looks and plays brilliantly, Splatoon has seriously become my No 2 Nintendo franchise, I love this game (nothing will ever overtake Zelda).
Really enjoy the app too. Like checking it out and seeing the stats etc. Good idea imo.

I don't have any Splatoon-toting friends, so I don't know if the same is true for local multiplayer.
