Yeah, that one sucks. They don't explain it beforehand, so all the matches I've played with it involve me and three people completely clueless on how to earn eggs. The penalty for going down a rank is harsh too.

for some modes yeah you need to back out and go to the equip menu

for others you'll be able to change mid match

The matchmaking in splatoon 1 took into account your weapon so it would try to avoid too many repeats. Thats why you need to leave the matchmaking to change.

Finding a match is definitely faster than during Splatfest but that whole setup somehow still feels clunky. :/

20 minutes is not enough time to break the muscle memory you've developed likely over many years. But if you don't want to use it, don't. Enjoying yourself is more important and if the hump is too much, don't worry about it.

I recall feeling that way initially too. I believe the lack of aim-assist is surprising for many people. Splatoon requires a level of precision (Mainly when fighting other players) that most shooters don't.

Ink Armor is sooooooo good. It's like the ultimate tie-breaker on those head-on encounters.

Really fun so far. Trying not to play too aggressively and spawn camp the new players, but am enjoying unlocking stuff again. It really kinda gives you an incentive to win those early Turf War games, so you can level up faster, though. Musselforge Fitness is so great how you can just keep doing this continuous loop around the map. Loving that map so far.

Does anyone know what that +3000 Fresh Bonus is? I got it once going between Level 3 and 4.

No, the problem is even though the right stick is supposed to be for left to right only, the motion also lets you do left to right, so I'm doubling up on the one axis and it's really throwing me off. And even minor tilts I seem to go very far.

One thing I forgot I really liked about the first game was exploring a new hub in the story mode trying to find all of the level locations. I really like chasing the balloons in this one for the souvenir stickers.

The solution for me was to remove motion controls and drastically decrease the right stick sensivity. I wasn't hitting online enemies before that.

Yes, that's correct. Local wireless play isn't restricted to server-timed events.
