What a pointlessly dumb design decision. Did the first Splatoon do this?
It did it every map rotation.

Oh how refreshing this game is. Been glued to it all day.
Does anyone know if you can take hero splatbrella to multiplayer if you clear all stages with it?
That's Jeff Gertsmann's handiwork.
Gerstmann and his Knack message haven't left my Square since he posted it.
Whoops, I wrote that wrong. The further along in the story you unlock the weapon in story mode, the higher level you need to level up in multiplayer to buy it.
For example, you get the Hero Roller early in the game, so you only have to be level 3 or so in multiplayer to unlock it in the store. The weapon I beat every level with you don't get until late in the game, so I have to be level 20 to buy it.
How do you switch weapons in the single player mode? Couldn't figure that out after Sheldon explained it

Wasn't going to go the scumbag route with the Aerospray but it has the curling bomb launcher too? Come on Nintendo lmao
stay off the hook
i wish it had a goddamn fast forward button at least. I don't mind it at the beginning of a longer session but sometimes i only have x time to play a quick match
I think the new ones and the old ones go together quite well.
It's not really scumbag tho. I play mostly Aerospray and typically get killed pretty easily in a straight fire fight. Each weapon has it's perks and weaknesses.
It was one of the simplest weapons in Splatoon 1, but the vertical flick adds a lot to it. Trying to use each of the 3 flicks in the best situation (or the roll) makes it a lot of fun to use. Each attack has it´s pros and cons so the weapon feels like it has a lot of depth now. Unlike the rest of the weapons where you usually just want to stay at the optimal range, the roller is viable at different ranges if you can use all it´s properties. The sub and special each address long and close range and even help moving around. It uses a lot of ink though, so I´d recommend some ink saving gear to be more active.
Amiibos woo!

I've been greatly enjoying Splatoon 2, but man the voice chat app sucks, and I wish Salmon Run weren't on this weird timer schedule.
So many bad teams tonight, this matchmaking is wild
I love what they´ve done with the roller, it´s the most complex weapon to use properly but it has so many options:

I just can't play this game at all.
Every time it's me against one other person I always just get killed, and it usually happens shortly after respawning. I don't know if it's just because a lot of the people playing now have had 2 years of practice, but it's really frustrating and I die so quickly I don't even feel like I have a chance to get better.
Yeah, Carbon Rollers in S Rank were frightening. I like that for a weapon which is mainly based in mobility more thain aim, you now also have to use different shooting modes. It's the most fun to use in S2 atm IMO.It seemed so overpowered in Splatoon 1 until everyone realized you can kite it so easily.
It's not a bad weapon against newbies and can be a powerful weapon against skilled players if used well. I got lit up 4 times in 1 match by someone who was damn good with the roller.
Yeah, Inkjet users have been easy to kill thanks to vertical flicking.the jumping vertical flick letting you swat inkFLUDDers outta the air is a godsend. Just cos you a roller don't mean you ain't no threat no more

What weapon are you playing with?
If you go into the game hoping to get into fights, try playing more defensively and concentrate on covering the ground. Save up a special and then attack with that.
The popularity algorithm they're running for miiverse posts must be running overtime, i always see fobwashed, jeff.g, i saw a post by a anime VA today and needless to say all the meme stuff is ever-present
Probably isn't counting the win bonus, which is 1000pJust got round to checking my "battle stats" on the splatoon app, and they seem incorrect.
I've been getting over 2000p in a lot of matches but it's showing around 1000p. Am I missing something?
Not overly important but it should be accurate right?!

Jeff's kid's looking pretty fresh.
Dualies, since I feel like the dodge helps a bit. I guess I should use the Roller but I really don't want to, and don't feel like it'll help me get better at aiming much, which is my issue as I try to get used to these motion controls (I wish I could still move the Y-Axis with the joystick and fine-tune with gyro, like in BotW).
I've been trying to focus on covering the ground rather than getting in firefights, but then it seems like I'm not pulling my weight because we usually end up with just a bit around our spawn covered and if I try to branch out the bad guys find me and end me pretty quickly.
I guess I should get better at utilizing the specials, like you say.

Earlier today I jumped from a high place, killed an InkFLUDDer in mid-air with a VFlick, then used splashdown before touching the ground to kill the 2 inklings that had jumped to it's location. Awesome 3 kill-combo! It felt amazingthe jumping vertical flick letting you swat inkFLUDDers outta the air is a godsend. Just cos you a roller don't mean you ain't no threat no more
