Ah right.. forgot they already changed Burst Bomb in the first game, it was around the time I stopped playing. Yes it was a bit too good back then that I can almost use it as a main weapon.

I did just that. Also throwing them at your feet to dance around the stage/enemies. Them's were the days. ;-;

What does it mean when your rank passes an "Ok" mark?
If you pass the ok mark and get 4 cracks you will not drop down from your current rank, but will reset so your your current rank instead. For example if you hit the ok mark on S rank and get 4 cracks you will hav to restart S rank not drop down to A+

I finally got a chance to play tonight. Even better, I persuaded a few friends to buy the game, so I had my first-ever Splatoon-with-friends experience. It was a blast. Can't wait to pick up some fresh threads and get back our there.

SplatNet has a Tenacity version of the Takoroka Mesh hat. It's Takoroka, which means Special Charge Up is its common ability. Special Charge doesn't seem as integral in this game, but I kinda want to make a Supercharge hat. That hat is so good, though, I don't wanna do Bomb Defense on it.

My guess is that you can probably get three with enough Ink Saver Sub.

When the first game came out you could throw something crazy like four at base. But they were indeed smaller. They changed them at some point in a big balance update, giving them the larger explosion radius, while reducing the amount you can throw. It turned them into a way to claim ground or get out of a sticky situation if you manage your Ink, instead of a panic button that you could always rely on.

That was the update where everyone kinda realized Nintendo wasn't messing around with how they were balancing the game. I hated hated hated hated expertly climbing all the way up to the sniper perch, just to get Burst Bomb'd to death by the E-Liter. One of the most humiliating feelings in the game.

Making them bulkier was such a clever fix.

Cool. I like the way they're handling ranking in this game. You really feel like you earn it, but it also doesn't feel horrible when you lose.

Man the final boss was a let down

dj octavio degraded to being just another repeat 3 times bosses

Callie just being brain washed

Off the hook not even being relevant to the story at all

Even the final segment with the rainmaker was lame when it should have been bad ass. I was expecting a fight on rails, but the rainmaker was inferior to my gun for shooting his fist back :|

Outside of the final boss I thought splatoon 2's campaign was vastly improved over the first game. More challenging without being too difficult, levels for every weapon type, better replayability, and better elements to create cool gameplay.

Fuck. I purchased the $60 for $50 at GameStop today and my code is scratched off. I didn't even scratch it that hard in my opinion. Of course, it was the $50 card. I was going to use it to buy Sp2, but don't know what to do. Can I call Nintendo and show them my receipt and card and have them pull it up? I sure as hell know GameStop won't help. This was my birthday present for myself, too. I really hope Nintendo can look it up or add it to my account.

What can only be called irony, I got B- rank in Splat Zone, which was my least favorite rank mode in the original Splatoon. Oddly, I tend to do the best in this game (getting first or second), probably because it's like a more intense version of Turf War which is almost all I played in the first Splatoon. I like Rainmaker, but I utterly sucked at it, go figure.

Seems like all the upcoming Salmon Run sessions are 24h. Starts once every two days. I'm in the EST time zone:

What's a good weapon for someone who can't aim for shit? I keep coming in second with like 2-3 kills, all from bombs, and I can't help but think if I could get a few more splats I wouldn't be 15-35 in my last 50 matches:(

Rollers and the buckets. Very little aiming necessary.

Try a Blaster; their splash damage is nothing to sneeze at and they cover some impressive turf as well!

With regards to the shirt you get (among with the other rewards) during Salmon Run, do you guys think we will get other clothing items from the Grizzco line?

Rollers/Brushes/Buckets are all less relied on aiming to some degree, or you can go chargers to force yourself to learn it lol

I believe I read somewhere that it refreshes each month.

So annoyed. I am on this six game losing streak, all because my team sucks or they always screw up at the last second by overextending themselves.

They must have just changed this, some of those were showing as 12 hour shifts just a few hours ago.

They matchmake according to the weapon you use, so you can swtch weapons, just not when it's actively matchmaking.

People keep saying this, but I don't believe it for a second. I've seen enough teams with 3 rollers or 3 aerosprays (with only 1 or 0 on the other team) to think that this is something that was said once as an assumption and everyone else just ran with it. If it's true than the matchmaking algorithm is totally fucked because it's not balancing for weapon types at ALL.

I finished taking the NY bar exam yesterday and today I just played this game for about 8 hours straight. Didn't even mean to, just kept saying 1 more game until its 1:40 AM in the morning.

It was glorious.

Wow there's people already level 30 (not that surprised about this tbh) AND with specialized gear. How? lol. That almost notstop playing

I'm almost there! Just 14 more levels to go! To be fair, I was absolutely crushed when I saw that you could go past 30, I think I'm gonna hit the brakes lol

Just went against a team of japanese players who synergized to the point of being able to herd my team with a Sting Ray into a Splashdown trap.

Well played.

Yup basically my thoughts as well. I feel like
they streamlined DJ Octavio's first part to enable multiple weapons to be used.

But the could've easily made it a level you progress through just like Splatoon 1 or just a completely different fight in general. The last part was fun as heck though.

I feel like a lot of people were holding up the first game's boss battle as an all time great one. So it's not THAT much of a disappointment that they couldn't hit that high of a bar again (to me anyway).
For what it's worth, what it lacked in gameplay it made up for in presentation by far. I'm biased though, I was won over when they remixed Bomb Rush Blush.

I really hope there's some future story content that does more with Off the Hook, outside of the two scrolls, there's is NOTHING about them in that story.
