So, uh, how exactly do the not-Miiverse posts work in this? I just spent hours making this one, but I'm not seeing it show up anywhere in game?

I even checked my husband's game after playing a match with each other and it doesn't show up for him either. My Inkling's in his game by the Lobby but it doesn't show a post at all. I submitted it via the "Splatfest Post" option, not the "Draw" option, so I dunno if that might make a difference or what...
 
after looking at the pictures again i actually just think its going to be a random spin on just something random, it doesnt really look like anything in particular and the fact that it changes every splatfest leads me to believe its just anything


glad to see they didnt take the easiest way out and just put in a random splatoon 1 map every splatfest as a 3rd, or they can and just make it look all rave like lol
 
Played slamon run a lot last night.
That was fun!

Nothing like the shit compared to two days ago. Who in the dev team thought those weapons would make the mode fun? Also you go up super slow after you lose a lot.

They have no need to cover it up. Nobody gives a splat except the Squidbeak Platoon. The Squid Sisters are agents and news reporters and even they hardly did more than report the incident and recruit Agent 3. Squids be lazy. It's a wonder they won the Great Turf War, though I guess a single motivated Inkling can take down the entire Octarian army single-handedly.

Yep. In spite of being much more difficult, it is still easy faster getting points once your at higher difficulties like Profreshional

i mean cover it up for the octarians in particular, the ones that would be skeptical, i honestly just think the squids are a disaster as you mentioned lol

its something i wished they did more with but who knows i can only assume, these new maps could even just be what it was like if the war never happened or something lol

the Judd stuff is where it gets weird and sends my expectations into the wild
 
Is it me or lore scrolls in this game are kind of crap compared to splatoon 1. Im only halfway story mode with every scroll up to there, and the only interesting scroll was the first one with the concert thingy.

I dont give two craps plastic needs to be burned to make more comfortable clothes.

Man, when you start hitting A+ and S- ranks 1 in 2 players are Tri-Slosher users. It's kind of boring at this point. I mean, much of them are try-hards who've cottoned on to it being the best weapon and aren't necessarily that good with it, but the good ones are frustrating as anything. It doesn't really have any downsides - great killing power, good range, good speed. There's no 1v1s it is losing at anything except the longest ranges.

Fuck thats bad, I was wondering if it picked up from the middle.

Its sad it seems they really didnt give two fucks anymore, I always found the lore of the first one super interesing, even if it was only little snippets.

And its strange when the twitter was showing more fun things with the background story. Why does something tell me they went the stupid sakurai way of thinking that people would not go after the story locking it in the game while everyone can enjoy it if its open in the internet.

Well unlike the Inklings, the Octarians seem to be aware since great numbers of them took part in that incident. I think the the scroll is written from the Inkling's perspective and meant to emphasize that Marina is a bit oblivious (which makes her fit in with the Inklings, lol). The Squid Sisters reported that the Great Zapfish had returned but pretended that they didn't know where it had been. They may have also called it a concert to cover up their secret identities.
 
Tri-Slosher is very useful but is it OP? I don't know. I don't find myself getting annoyed with tri-slocher users the same way I do with rollers in Turf Wars.
 
The charger with scope sucks dick balls in salmon run. I suppose the devs needed to put a shitty weapon just to fuck around. A normal charger would have been better for this mode.

i hadnt considered it being written from their perspective, mostly due to
octavio being so readily present there
but considering the sisters are readily mentioned as well i suppose it can be a thing

i think the true push for the oblivious squid theory is the way pearl acted during the whole thing lol

the last one is a pretty big one but without context i cant make much of it

that tweet they just sent out is pretty much my only potential context and ill still probably never be sure of anything lol

basically shit is weird, i hope in the next game or at least the anime they green lit some stuff is brought to light

this got weird in the same way fargo gets weird
 
Gotta fucking love it when you lose in the first round of Salmon Run because no one has a clue how to play Goldie Seeking and you have the splatterscope so it's not like you can show them easily.

i've literally never used a sniper in all of my splatoon time ever

we died first wave lol

Snipers being useless against flyfish SUCKS. at least put a point i can target in the middle or something

Over-achiever is the new Part-timer. Once you're there, it gets hard to get back out again.

I must admit, the weapon choices in Salmon Run can be really frustrating. Sometimes when it's a really inefficient set I just get put off playing because I suspect I'll just drop down because my team won't know how to handle it.
 
I'm not even sure it's possible to play a "good" blaster in Salmon Run, you can just be less shitty. The range, fire rate and power is just complete garbage at accomplishing much of anything.

For what? Your range is too bad to stay back and snipe, but if you try to go to the front lines, you're probably gonna die because you have no way of quickly clearing a path for yourself or taking care of even the weakest enemies.
 
a blaster is like a fast moving mid-range splatterscope user with splash damage. make super quick paths, dodge and weave, don't even need to aim really well
 
I play the Blaster like the Heavy Splatling - you provide cover and support. Your rate of fire is too slow to respond easily to the frontline, but you can help protect the guy ahead.
 
yeah the blaster will die one-on-one to a splattershot user, but hell, i lose most 1v1 battles. but splatoon is about making it so fights aren't 1v1 lol. or if they are it's because you found someone from a direction they didn't expect

i really love a straight up blaster dual though. that shit is fun

Eh. I mean, I would say you want to avoid getting into 1 vs 2 for obvious reasons, but if you're confident in your 1 vs 1, then getting into them is good, since you can keep the other 3 team members free to do other tasks while helping cut down the other team.
 
even in a 1v1 it's all about flanking and making yourself enough cover to get around your enemy and surprise them from an angle they're not expecting

i mean not to discount your stragtgy or anything
 
I thought the tri-slosher was rubbish.

It's really imprecise in covering ground and as far as killing goes the regular slosher seems more effective.
 
Unless you're bad at shooting, or the other person is especially good at evading, the person who gets the first hit should almost always win a 1v1 battle.
 
I don't understand how the ranking works. Sometimes I have the most kills, conquerd the Zone, defended it and did everything I could, but I am at the bottom of the Scoreboard.

Indeed when I realised this I started climbing up the ranks. In goal oriented modes It can be a great help to break away and flank to support your team. Buckets and tentatek splattershots are great for this.


I went back to S1 and I am incredibly salty that the win poses in that one are a lot better than the ones in this game. Guntypes had this really cool throw but now we get a lame fist pump.
