I'm deeply regretting choosing what I like, rather than going with Mayo knowing full well it was likely to do much better.
Like people should not be allowed to level up to Ketchup King/Queen if you can't turf over 500p with an aerospray while I'm out doing you with a bucket...

I switched to the RG for a bit to see if I was missing anything and was averaging at least 1000p every time. XD

Does anyone know whether the MMR/Ketchup level factors into the rewards you get?

It's only used for matchmaking and at the end of Splatfest ranking people (top 100 from each side)

Outturfing bucket users isn't hard. Buckets are all about those kills. Getting more kills than one means they're doing a pretty shitty job though.

This is with me mainly using the aerospray too.

Matchmaking was so weird for the games I played last night. I had a huge winning streak at the start, then a huge losing streak in the middle, and then a huge winning streak at the end.

It wasn't a very good matchmaking experience.

Wow @ the lobby splatfest. First time and I love it.

First thing seeing going towards the stage dude has "if mayo wins I'll throw my Switch in a lake" lol cracking up here I can feel the stakes and I better help ketchup win now or a Switch will be hitting the water.

THIS ISN'T A GAME PEOPLE!

Is there a chart with how good each of the power ratings is? I have no idea how well my 1800 holds up.

When will we know the results of the splatfest?

Heh. Looks who like Splatoon 2 now.

Only need 40 more points to King but I have work all weekend. Ah well, played what I could! Shame the Splatfest isn't a bit longer. It's basically 24h yeah? Too short!

The inability to spontaneously join your friends (or vice versa) is a pretty big bummer.

It's fun playing with randoms and all, but most of the joy I get out of the game is playing with people I know. Finding an obtuse outside way to coordinate a team is the single biggest downer I hope they eventually patch.

can you tell me what the 100th person got?
i'm trying to get into the top 100.

It's not my picture so can't unfortunately. Also I'm pretty sure Japanese will have higher power level average so it can't be used as sole indicator of what will be the cut-off for top 100 in west.

Just got this game a week ago. Been having a great time, I feel like it's improved quite a bit from the first game, even if it is a tad too iterative. Been really enjoying Salmon Run, strangely enough. Definitely needs more stages, though.

I always managed to miss the original Splatfests in the first game by some consistent bad luck. Are the 1750s decent for Splatfest power? I got really close to 1800s a few times but dropped. Got to Ketchup King, so I figured I wouldn't try my luck anymore. I kept getting battles with teams like 200 points above us, and those always seemed to turn out poorly.

Also, the connections need to be fixed right away for next Splatfest. The amount of disconnects both in-match and outside of it were downright insane for me.

Whew, got to Ketchup Queen.

I started getting a lot of connection issues near the end. Not cutting out during matches, but communication errors at the end of every match and some things in the lobby where people would cycle in and out constantly for minutes on end... I ended up exiting out of the game twice to get our of the lobbies that happened in. There REALLY needs to be an exit lobby option. It's also a shame I couldn't drop into friends' teams like I could regular turf war mode (provided they chose the same team lol). Try to get four people together was not possible.

But it was fun! Had a money up booster on the majority of the time and I'm swimming in it now :p

As dominant as Mayo is, there are still some...questionable players at times. It really sucks to do well the entire match but the moment you go down, the moment you do, your team just derps and screws everything up.

It feels as if you can't die a single time without your team just completely getting decimated.

communication error, communication error...

anyways I'm halfway to queen. I never really liked splat fest it's just a grind. If I can make it to queen tomorrow then I'm done right afterwards

Splatfest shouldn't just be turf wars

o shoot splatfest ends in 2 hours? it used to be the entire weekend. Oh well not making it to queen. I'm actually tired of the game lol

I'm retiring for the night with a splatfest record of 22-26, although the majority of those were ketchup mirror matches.

I started strong before hitting a devastating string of losses, and I was beginning to turn it around by the time I was too tired to go on.

Team ketchup, please avenge me.

Isn't it done in two hours?

If you die without killing anyone else, you should expect your team to get rolled over 4v3.

If you get great K:D ratios because you're cleaning up 4v3s others created, you are not carrying the team despite the stats.

If you die while killing one, it is expected to be 50/50, so your team should lose pretty often, and the dumb way memories work just make you remember the times it doesn't work. It is often even less than 50/50 since it's more likely you killed their worst player instead of their best player. Purposefully one for oneing their best player does make the chances better than 50/50

You should expect them to win if you get two for one, but a lot of things that seem like two for ones actually aren't, because your teammate's death set up the kill for you.

I have to remind myself all that constantly in any team based game because otherwise you do get in the mindset of thinking the matchmaking is conspiring against you.

I don't think the matchmaking is dealing very well with the fact that Mayo has less members. Most of my (solo) games against Team Mayo earlier today were lopsided in terms of MMR. They had a lower power level, usually by quite a bit (100+).

Guess there's not really much they can do to solve that though.
