No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again revealed (Switch, UE4)

He really loves Hotline Miami doesn't he? :D

You should probably look at this as some sort of tease as to what this new NMH is going to be.

Suda dropped all the hints in that small segment of the Devolver "conference" and this trailer right here.

Suda da gawd.

There's gonna have to be a lot of restraint not to use Hotline Miami as the final level considering the insanity that is endgame Hotline Miami 2.

While we're still talking Devolver, Serious Sam is an obvious contender. Maybe even Enter The Gungeon. But I wouldn't put it passed them to add some slightly more suspect games into the fold and not just ones that are gore em ups. There's always gotta be that one "out of nowhere" stage in these games.

Oh my god, I didn't think of that.
Oh my god!
OH MY GOD!!!

Hopefully, Marvelous is fast-tracking an HD collection of the first two games so that more newcomers can get the chance to experience the inspired madness of this series firsthand.

And that the first game is based on the Wii version and not whatever the hell they did to it on 360/PS3.

Hmm? What happened to NMH1 on PS3?

Someone hold my hype please
Even if probably will not be exactly in the same vein gameplay wise of a proper sequel I am hyped as fuck

Holy shit, what a wonderful super cool funny trailer, Suda 51 is finally back, hell yeah! I was surprised to see Hotline Miami and wait, it will be in the game in some form?! O_o

I would have like to played this on my PS4 instead of the Switch but I'm still in Day 1 nonetheless. I guess I'm finally buying a Switch next year when this comes out.

They really fucked up the game flow by making the normal enemies have way too much health and they overcomplicated the finisher prompts, making everything feel very, very, very slow compared to the Wii original. And that's on top of it somehow having a worse framerate and loading times all around.

Grasshopper had nothing to do with the port, and Suda has been pretty clear that the Wii version is "his" game the whole time.

Art style looks like GHM's other UE4 games, which I'm not a huge fan of. It reminds me a lot of Shadows of the Damned and looks too shiny in certain areas.

Disappointing, sounds like it's going to be a much smaller and completely different game than 1&2.

Not interested in all this indie game influence, I just want NMH3.

The 360 version was only released in Japan for some fucking reason.

>mfw we knew the title the whole time

I dare say there may be one indie world that doesn't gel with Suda51's style and that will be precisely the point.

It's never ever gonna happen but Travis in Undertale would be hysterical. Or takin' murder to the likes of Stardew Valley.

Undertale seems to be fairly popular in Japan, so it's a possibility. I don't know if Toby Fox would allow it though. As funny as he is, he can be rather protective of Undertale's narrative integrity.

Or he could think it's the coolest thing ever and just say "fuck it". It would have to be a genocide route though, unless they force Travis to not kill stuff, which would be kind of hilarious.

That's the most Suda51 thing they could do with that game.

If it has boss fights like in 1&2, it's going to be EXACTLY a NMH game.
If the indie games replace the pointless fillers, it's going to vastly enhance the experience of the game because they're going to be fun for once.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes from Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture: Seven years have passed since the events of No More Heroes, and The Bad is determined to exact his revenge on Travis Touchdown. Just like the original cult classic, players will have to battle through multiple punk-rock levels and defeat over-the-top bosses. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch in 2018. More details about the game will be revealed in the future.

There could be lots of potential for minigames too! Maybe that's part of the collaborations as well. The minigames in 1 and 2 were good fun.

I think it might be Bad Girl.

Also, Jeane!!

100% Correct guys!

I knew No More Heroes had a bunch of Blonde girls. I was like "It can't be Kimmy Powell right?" I was thinking we knew all those blonde girls names.

But how could I forget Bad Girl!

Makes perfect sense with the father's BDSM theme.

From the No More Heroes Wiki:
Other than speculation, Bad Girl is the only assassin given no backstory, identity, or motivation.

Ill wait until I see gameplay to judge what it is. I hope its very similar to No More Heroes 1 & 2 both just needed more polish and time. But for a game with less than a year of development many things can change and many shortcuts can be taken to hit a release date.

I'd have to assume 2, since Travis looks about 10 years older and that would line up perfectly with the timeline as we know it (NMH->3 years->NMH2).

Yep.

2007: No More Heroes Age: 27
2010: No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
Age: 30
2018: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Back
Age: 37/38

What other way can it be construed? "Just like the original" is pretty unambiguous. If they were all minigames, they wouldn't be called "levels" either

It could just be referring to the general notion that Travis has to fight through different levels and beat enemy bosses.

I'm going to assume though it's what everybody is expecting because it's easier on my sanity.
