For anyone curious about what they should be doing to push into the 270s towards 280: All night I've been having blues and legendaries dropping in the 274-276 range, that was not happening yesterday, started my session today at the same power level I was playing as yesterday. Not sure if they did any behind the scenes tweaking or if the power scaling was bugged yesterday but it seems like you can press on ahead pretty steadily a lot easier.

Just basically had the exotic quests left on my Titan for the week to get consistent high level gear but I'm already 277, if I can't beat the raid tomorrow it's whatever, so I decided to finally start on my hunter and...

Man, what the fuck Bungie lmao. Arc strider is pitiful, probably the worst super in the game haha. I can't believe this is the "new" super hunters got when it's a reskinned blade dancer. At least give them the option to throw the staff or give them blink during the super, it's hilarious how hard this gets shat on by sentinel or dawn breaker.

Is there any effect to my progress if my lv20 friend helps me with campaign missions? Will their damage sync with mine or the mission's (making it easier to get through) or will it also affect my exp gain?

Put on the Raiden armor you get offered in the campaign. Arc turns into straight beast mode

After some milestones I reached 275 and then the drops changed to 267. All of then.

What ia that? Some friends with less power than me are getting more ... So weird

Yeah, they don't disappear until the daily reset. You get your tokens and glimmer upon completion.

They'll be sorta greyed out if they're completed, I think.

Nope. I'm 288PL and all my blues and purples come at 278. Exotics/powerful gear aren't capped at 300, either – a friend hit 300PL last night and has several pieces higher than 300. No idea where the top end is on either yet, but both definitely scale with you once you get beyond the soft cap.

Once you get past 275 the blues/legendaries from engrams start dropping higher light again (about 10 below your level). This was pre-patch too, you just didn't notice as you weren't high enough from 265 yet.

That's weird because I'm 271 and blues and legendary are all coming out at 265. I'm currently wondering how the hell im supposed to get higher without exotics (which you often need to swap with another exotic which is already high power so you gain almost nothing).

I don't have access to flashpoint on my second character. Is it account based or am I missing something.

You can only do it once per class. Is your second character the same class as your first?

Nope.
The reason you don't see flashpoint on your 2nd character is because you haven't finished the patrol quest yet. You have to first set up the patrol becon post story, then do 3 patrols and then speak to cayde. That will unlock Flashpoint.

We are so conditioned by Destiny 1 that this feels like they fucked up and any day now a nerf will be announced

It's rewarding you for playing. Yes soon the Dupes R' Us will appear in a month's time, but earning rewards by playing really keep the player retention going

Also each reward ties into another activity so your always moving from thing to thing
Don't feel bogged down or hamstrung into a few options

I wouldn't be surprised down the line Adventures from time to time get "upgraded" once in awhile, same for PTEs
Like today so and so adventure has been boosted to Power Level 260-280 (hypothetical), reward a Legendary Engram + more

Can't speak for him but I'm 278 and all of the blues and purples I've been getting from events, strikes, random enemies, etc. have all been rolling in the 274 range. Haven't been getting them from anywhere special, it has helped me get up a good few pieces that have fell behind in power.

Yeah, it's all a bit confusing. The EG list is sort-of right, but only up to 275PL. And the 270 faction reward cap they mention is just if you get lucky and get gear with a built-in purple mod – it's still technically just a 265.

For me, all blue and purple drops from all sources have been dropping at exactly 10 below my PL since I broke 275PL. Exotics and Powerful Gear rewards still dropping at or higher than my level.
