Simple. A number came out for PS5 that was lower than everyone was guessing, and so it puts people like Matt and Klee is a bad situation. Do they go along with the leak and then get called out for saying PS5 was slightly more powerful than Xbox, or do they say it's wrong and risk looking like fakes if the PS 5 does release with a 36 cu GPU.

It's not entirely accurate or doesnt give a complete picture is what I gather from Matt's post and the unwillingness of other insiders to corroborate it.

He never said it was incorrect. He's talking about the github being a confirmation of anything.
The funny thing is everyone expects there to be two Xbox systems, but also everyone seems to assume there is only one PS console.

There's nothing to indicate that Sony will have two consoles, this is why I think $399 is what they're looking at. We not getting 12+ tflops for $399. Everything will depend on what price Sony is looking at.

No they didnt lol. Sony went down to 399 , @599 it was getting butchered.
PS3 was behind 360 for most of the generation. Sure PS5 could outsell Xbox at $399, but can it outsell Lockhart if it's $299? $200 difference is a lot. They might still win in the end in terms of overall sales, but Xbox will surely be a big winner and attract a huge chunk of casual market with such an aggressive price. I don't know, the $499 PS5 doesn't make too much sense to me.
Could be 499 and xbox 599. I think xbox will be 100 dollars more w/ 2 or more tflops

Yea, I've read they are being conservative with their clocks. Bandwidth issues aren't necessary either. Would hinder game performance significantly.
I get that, but what I'm saying is that Sony cannot afford for there to be a big gap between PS5 and Lockhart's pricing. If Lockhart is substantially cheaper than PS5 then it will eat a lot of its market. Sony don't have two SKUs so they have to be careful with how they price PS5.
