Sony, we know the quality the studios currently under their umbrella are capable of. A lot of Microsofts haven't shipped a good game in a while , some of them ever. The bethesda studios are a boost but still we are yet to see what comes from them after Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo which are both still exclusive to Ps5

Who said they were my dreams? Don't give a shit about this console warring crap. Up until last gen I owned all systems from all parties. Only went XBox this time because I liked (past tense) Halo and haven't had the free time like in the past. Going PC this gen and maybe XSX and PS5 down the road if I see something I want and likely will get a Switch next gen for my son in a few years. Already got NES and SNES mini. I play what I like and don't care about this console warrior bullshit.

Look at what studios and IP's they've acquired, there's a distinct pattern. And its not one that says they are trying to broaden their appeal beyond the same sort of thing that was their bread and butter back in the early 360 days.

The last game I have played from one of those studios is Fallout 4. I was bored after about 10 hours.

I think the most interesting studio is Tango Gameworks. But again I didn't even finish TEW1.

For all of Microsoft's acquisitions, I am much more excited for games like God of War 2, Demon Souls, HZD2, and Final Fantasy 16.

Sony just has games that make me want to drop $500 on a console. Microsoft currently does not.

Hasn't Sony overdone the 'narrative' experience with the endless cut-scenes? Zelda BOTW is not like that and it's old 17 million copies. People just want to play the game, not watch a movie.

The point is for Sony fans they always keep citing those Big 4 studios: Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica & Guerilla Games as the 'holy of holies' studios that can do no wrong. XBox needs several studios are talked about in such hushed tones of reverence.

Out of 23 studios, only 4 to 5 interest me. The rest outputs garbage (Compulsion Games), boring RTS, PC only so far, broken, unfinished games (Grounded) or the same ones since 2001.

Bend has potential to grow to AAA this gen. I would consider Insomniac a big studio too.
Japan Studio has almost shrunk into being completely irrelevant, but I could see Sucker Punch grow into a 2 team studio.
Since both ND and SSM also have 2 teams, I think Sony has more than enough output (counting smaller studios that make non-AAA games too).

This acquisition was absolutely massive, MS is now in a very solid position when it comes to First Party Studios for sure.
However, I truly dislike this type of practice as I would rather see them (or Sony or any other company) actually building studios and IPs from the ground up.

When people talk about winning a generation it's almost always about who sells the most hardware. Nintendo are performing better at the moment but PS4 is on its way out. They might be outpacing PS4 but maybe they will plateau? We don't know. All we know is they haven't won the generation because they're still at about half of PS4's sales.

At this point it isn't even a competition Xbox has a significantly superior studio line up, on top of a far more premium stable of iconic franchises. Sony went from being the undisputed market leader with their infrastructure and franchises to now just being a participant in next generation, talk about a fall from dominance.

They lost the console power, the services, and now they lost their edge in games.

When people talk about winning a generation it's almost always about who sells the most hardware. Nintendo are performing better at the moment but PS4 is on its way out. They have some good studios that make games like DOOM and then they have studio's that make stuff like FALLOUT 76
Never really been a fan outside of DOOM and TEW but I heard so many bitching threads about them for years I find it funny people are praising them all of the sudden
