What has actually been debunked? I read the "debunked" narrative from the twitter feeds of both journalist and those tweets do not debunk their reporting of the XBX preview units running considerably hot. One in standby and one while in normal use.
No one has claimed (other than in drive-bys from non-serious post), that during those regimes normal operation of the console has been affected. At least not on Gaf. On twitter yes, on other podcasts piggy backing for clickbait views - Yes. That sort of reporting miscounstruing the journalist experience suggesting that such regimes affect operation are what has been debunked - because it's simply not true. But that is outside of Gaf. There is quite a gulf to claim that the crazy narratives running outside of Gaf that have been debunked somehow debunk their reporting on the XBX units running considerably hot. The two are not the same thing. That is still the constant. Which I'm sure anyone not dumb understands very well and I'm sure some posters are in bad faith pushing forward to bait a mod into thread closure.
No amount of "debunked" shouting will change that constant. It's that constant that to some may be worrisome given the adjectives used to describe them and should be subject to discussion without constant accusations of FUD, insults and the like. Mods do have their work cut out of for them, specially with some folk that hang with them on the off-topic thread.
