The situation with this game is going to be so different in 3-6 months, I know the FOMO is real but if you don't like how it is now just wait. I am sure this game is going to be paying the bills at DF HQ for a long long time.
Haha vrr excuse will be gone by December 27 lol . You won't be shilling vrr anymore lol
A new low from DF when mentioning the marketing deal with MS as an excuse for the 2 modes available on sEx.
Ps5 has higher resolution in 60 fps mode . And higher fps mean in this mode
Excuse? It's a feature that makes your game better, in this case a LOT better. Sony should implement it as quickly as possible and then you can all come back and agree it's a massive win.
I can't even tell if half these people in this thread are serious or not... We are comparing one of the worst optimized and buggiest game ever, where one console had undeniably much more effort put in than the other. The PS5 is just an unlocked PS4 Pro version, Xbox Series X has two modes, enhanced graphics and different resolutions compared to Xbox One X.
Glad I'm playing Series X at higher settings with VRR, that's the best 60fps experience. If you want the best visuals then Series X quality mode with higher settings and big resolution increase. Nice to have the choice.
Still not playing this on console until next years next-gen patch hit, lots of games to keep me busy until then.
Nope.nope more crowds in performance mode at 7.45
Xbox Series X has two modes, enhanced graphics and different resolutions compared to Xbox One X.
Why is that "a new low" ?
They just guessed why there's the option on Xbox and no option on PS5, cause it really looks strange.
This game isn't 120fps. It's also a buggy, blurry mess. It's nothing to do with marketing. Look at the Warzone comparison, Series X is much better than PS5 because it's far easier for Devs to tweak BC games. Microsoft just did a better job than Sony in this regard. Also Rocket League and Star Wars Squadrons, no marketing deal with those but same result.
That is only about quality vs performance mode.Just watched it . Yea They said cause it uses the higher setting of x1x vs ps5 is using lower ps4 pro setting .
Nope.

60fps modes are equal.
Only 30fps mode in both Series X and Series S does have increased NPC/Vehicle density.
That is only about quality vs performance mode.
Performance mode uses the same settings in both.
Performance mode locks to 1080p and runs with an unlocked frame-rate up to 60 frames per second, but curiously, it cannot match PlayStation 5's raw output. In like-for-like tests, it does drop lower while areas that do not have any slowdown at all on PS5 can have some minor issues on Series X. However, city density in terms of NPC and vehicle count sees Series X clearly running with higher settings - it's not a like-for-like comparison.
Yes, READ.Nope.

Haven't watched the video but does this take into account the patch released literally last night on PS5? Because things did improve quite a bit there.
And since videos usually take a day or two to process and edit and upload, I'm guessing that's not the case.
Well John had to throw that fanbase a bone. And he's technically not wrong the PS5 holds 60 slightly better but I'm with you I would prefer a more vibrant and alive world with slight dips on XSX.John says go with the ps5 version for performance mode but the ps5 version has less people and cars than series x in performance mode.
That's stupid!
Crowd and cars is what makes it fascinating going around the city.
Nope.

So basically PS5 only has one mode, and it handily wins it. Higher resolution and fps in performance mode.
Correct, but it could also render this comparison invalid and untrue if things changed last minute; thus the validity of the question and relevance to the discussion. There will be a dozen patches down the line.
don't think VRR can save you in this one

You keep repeating this VRR line but it seems like you don't know what VRR actually does.
VRR is not a substitute for stable frame rate performance and doesn't remove the effects of slowdowns.
It has just the main purpose of avoiding tearing and judder when frame rate fluctuates and other solutions like v-synch are not enabled.
XSX doesn't perform as well as PS5 in performance mode, that is all. Just like PS5 lacks the quality mode.
Why december 27th ?Haha vrr excuse will be gone by December 27 lol . You won't be shilling vrr anymore lol
Has anyone seen this happen? I've played 8 hours now and haven't seen any issues while driving on the SX

They say the best place to play the game on consoles is Xbox Series X Quality Mode.
Considering you're comparing a 30fps mode on XSX to a 60fps one on PS5, bragging about crowd density doesn't even make sense.
No, they actually don't and I just quoted you on it.
Thanks fixed the summary."Xbox Series X also offers more than just backwards compatibility. While it does seem to share a bunch of features from the Xbox One X version of the game, it gains the ability to choose between quality and performance modes - a choice you don't have on One X. Performance mode locks to 1080p and runs with an unlocked frame-rate up to 60 frames per second, but curiously, it cannot match PlayStation 5's raw output.
