Yeah, I think this is the best way to approach it. People are seeing certain flags and that's fine, but conclusive evidence is really required before making a judgment. We all know what to look for, but we have yet to see it for GoY after all.

If you're trying to make an authentic Japanese samurai game that represents that era as acurately as possible then your character is Japanese man, period. If instead you're using an NBA player or a LGBT woman, it's because you have an agenda to push.

And I think the GoT team leadership not changing is really important here. These new writers are taking direction from the existing leads.
The main character is a straw hat, not a samurai. I think that is correct anyway, going by the reveal.

Female warriors did exist in Japan, there's detailed records about them. I have some skepticism about this game too, but I'll need more information on agenda pushing than what we saw in the trailer.

Pretty sure, Sony made the call. Cannot imagine Sucker Punch was unhappy with the original writing team and thought, these are really good writers.
Could be they hired them before it was known how bad the writing in Veilguard is, but if they still stuck to these writers after Dragon Age bombed, I hope they have someone overlooking and approving the written material.

If it's done well and like design then I would say why not…..I don't care about the sex or the race all I care about if the character has good design and like his/her character development.

I also researched where each member of the Ghost of Tsushima 1 writing team is now:
- Narrative Director: at Bioware, currently Senior Narrative Director
- Principal Narrative Designer: at Bioware
- Lead Writer: looking for a job since 3 days ago, uses they/them pronouns
- Writers:
- 2 at Sucker Punch, the mentioned ones in the OP
- 2 at Motive
- 2 looking for a job
- 1 I don't know but recently deleted her LinkedIn page
- Minimum 3 other Bioware writers not credited in the game, looking for a job since 3 days ago
I also researched where each member of the Ghost of Tsushima 1 writing team is now:
- 1 Lead left to work in Netflix and as freelance, later became narrative director of the As Dusk Falls studi
- 1 Lead continues at Sucker Punch
- 1 Senior moved in 2021 Monolith (WB), now is Narrative Lead at Cloud Chamber (2K)
- 1 Senior moved last year to become Principal Writer at That's No Moon
- 1 writer left in 2020, worked in KOTOR remake and now is senior writer at Bordelands 4

If they left bioware on those dates they already wrote on Andromeda and vielguard. 2023 is way too late to 'disagree' on direction. They contributed to the writing. And seeing as their is not a single line of dialogue or section of story that is decent in these games, it's fair to say these two are part of the problemWe are talking about two people who left Bioware in 2020 and 2023. How the hell do you know what they wrote? As far as you know they left because they disagreed with the direction of the game. Do you care? They worked on Veilguard is all that matters, right?
