congrats and i hope forward to see you taking 999 screenshots :messenger_beaming:

i am not sure if the in-game tutorials but i saw this from japanese twitter user

Press L + R button together to take a screenshot instead of the capture button and the screenshot will be HUD-less
NotMyProblemAnymoreCunt NotMyProblemAnymoreCunt for your information as well

P.S i have tried and tested it myself but the compression techinque is not high res
Thanks! I've barely done any captures on the Switch, so that's good info to know.

I have a USB type c mini hub connected to my PC, and it should be pretty easy to transfer all the screenshots by just plugging in the Switch.

I guess we shall throw the WiiU version in the garbage now.

That is what kind of annoys me about these remasters.

It is like, "Welp, your old game is shit now.".
Yeah, it does feel like they've kind of ransacked the WiiU and retrospectively stripped it of the great experiences it delivered.

With that said, I genuinely think the gamepad second screen was really useful in the WiiU version of XCX. I'd still take that over the Switch version.

Some games just work better on WiiU than Switch because they were designed for it. Splatoon 1 is a good example. Having the simultaneous interactive map during gameplay was so much better than the single screen compromise they brought to Splatoon 2 & 3.

I guess it's just the times, but I thought this game was $70. What a nice surprise to wake up this AM and see it at 60 :messenger_grinning:

Switch 2 running this at 60fps looking more and more likely

Dammit, Switch 2 should’ve launched today with XCX as one of the launch titles. Oh well, I already decided I’m not waiting to play this. I really hope the other Xenoblade games get some kind of enhancement from Switch 2… I feel like it’s time for a Xenoblade 1 replay in the near future.

My physical copy has finally arrived. Going to start the game in a few hours after I'm done with work.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I forgot how slow the level-ups happen after you hit about level 12

Wow, so turns out my local Gamestop (where I preodered from) just closed shop last Saturday, 6 days ago...😑

Good thing the 2nd closest Gamestop is still open and reallocated shipments from the closed store to their store.

Managed to secure a copy, sans the $20 I put down on preorder 😑 Can't wait to jump back in later this evening!

pro tip for the character creator: for some dumb reason you can’t just put any hairstyle on any character. The different base models have different hairstyles available. So be sure to try them all out or you might miss some sexy options like that one ^ or the cornrows which are only available on the old looking dude for some reason.

It's just like the Wii U version. Same deal with face type. Choosing your preset is important. Also worth noting if you care is that small size characters have more childlike or teenage proportions and max size is mature adult like proportions. All relating to all humans inhabiting synthetic Mimeosome bodies.

I don't remember enjoying the combat this much in the original game until I got to use overdrive.

Quick cooldown feels pretty OP. One of the tips in that video is that quick cooldown meter refills for every battle and it doesn't just let you use an art in cooldown. You can use it on an art that's ready to go and it will give you its secondary cooldown effect. So arts can do bonus damage at the start of a battle that way and end battles quicker.

I got a question

What's the best Division to start out with?
Curator. You get bonus DP for just picking up blue collectibles/items. Interceptor if you like fighting or farming enemies. And later Prospector when you have multiple data probes that tick at intervals for resources which will give you DP. So late game Prospector since you can get DP just by being AFK/Idle.

If you want to raise Blade level at a great pace while you play I'd say Curator. Ultimately it doesn't matter.

I just reached NLA and realized the mimeosome stuff is already mentioned from the start lol

Anyone remember how to auto-run? Not the run button, but you press something so your character runs while your thumb isn't on the stick. I can't find it in controls

Press in the left stick.

Got the game today while at Wally World. Didn't even make it to NLA yet. I'm doing some level grinding right now. Game looks really good on Switch and if the FPS thing going around means Switch 2 could run this at 60 FPS that would be an awesome upgrade.

Got this and am pretty happy/impressed with the way it looks in handheld mode. I think its ironically the best looking game in the series and maybe one of the best lookers on the Switch full stop. They seemed to have improved the image quality in handheld mode.

Xenoblade Chronicles Def edition and Xeno 2 deserve some type of patch for Switch 2 as they look kinda bad

True that. Quite a few games actually took nice advantage of the gamepad. Mario Maker, Wind Waker, Star Fox ...speaking of Wind Waker can't believe we never got it (and Twighlight Princess hd) on Switch.

The Wii U was actually a great console

Interesting, it has a hidden 60 FPS mode that doesn’t work on Switch. It’s possibly related to a Switch 2 enhancement
Nah im emulating it with 60fps and the problem is that the game speed is tied to the fps, 60fps = double game speed, unlocking fps on my 240hz monitor and the game goes into ludicrous speed.

You guys have stronger will than me, there is no way in hell I can wait that long.
Not that I mind the 30 fps since I'm playing on my older Bravia TV instead of my new OLED TV, so the inherent motion blur of the LCD panel hides a lot of the downsides of playing at a low fps. However, I do wonder if Monolith Soft will patch XCX Definitive Edition to work at higher fps when played on Switch 2 hardware. 🤔

If they do that would be great and if they don’t it’s not end of the world, all the Xenoblade games run at 30FPS but it didn’t really get in way of my enjoyment.
