What's the deal with that box? Is it a special edition? My US copy doesn't have that Z! logo on it.

My biggest problem right now will be assholes who put major spoilers for the new content in their youtube thumbnails, those will appear in my youtube feed for sure. That's how I learned about Rex's extremely efficient family planning for the future
Yeah I'm going have to avoid YouTube Home Page in regards to Xenoblade Chronicles X Spoilers too

I use an extension named Hide YouTube Thumbnails with Vivaldi and Firefox. It works great if you wanna avoid spoilers from YouTube thumbnails.

Here is a video I made of my surprise encounter with a new character after chapter 5. New content so if you don't want any spoilers don't watch.

I just googled pics of torna box, I think it's the shop or gaming website that showed it

I might try that extension. Other thumbnails help me make informed decisions about how to waste my time on youtube so I'm in a bind either way

Monolith Soft are wizards, managing making RPG with this scale on underpowered system.
And adding more content and compressing the file size even further. 22 GB on Wii U and now 13.4 GB on Switch. Looks better and adding more content while decreasing in file size is huge.

Meanwhile you got all these other devs who are just going lol 100+ GBs why optimize?

This game needs it, it has complex system and it needs to ease player in to it.

XC2 in my opinion was great game with great combat system but lot of people couldn't get in to it because of its horrible tutorial.....Even myself I had to learn how the combat works in Youtube instead within game itself.
XC2 was pure chaos ahah, was the game patched later so it would have better tutorial? I remember someone on here at Neogaf explaining the whole concept. I was like, ohh that's not what I was doing at all! Game is awesome nonetheless

This is why I don’t agree with people for blaming Switch for Pokemon games looking bad, no thats purely on GameFreak….Monolith Soft managed make game like Xenoblade not only looking better but also has bigger scale on same hardware.

I think with update you can review the tutorials on on the menu.

It's Gamefreak. They are just not very good. Pokemon would be in better hands if they let Gamefreak set up the framework and let Monolithsoft do the rest. Kinda like how Monolithsoft worked on BotW and TotK. I've disassociated from Gamefreak's games ever since Sword and Shield. I think the series peaked with Gold and Silver.

Pokemon Champions I feel is likely going to feel inferior to Pokken Tournament. And that was developed by Namco.

And my god Little Town Hero just lol

Best of all the screens not blurring up all the time. The overuse of dynamic resolution is the bane of the series life on switch. Especially bad in XC1DE and XC2

What do you mean?
nothing really. characters don't go away or anything. But you can advance story a bit and get cool stuff like mechs and overdrive and have them to help level characters. You also meet new characters you might want to use like Celia

except there is one character who does leave. I never got to finish his personal quests on the wiiu, a dude called Lao. Not sure if he is gone forever still after a certain point in the story in the definitive edition

I'm giving up on this game. I don't really get it. It constantly sends me to distant areas where the monsters are much stronger than me, and I can't cancel the missions (Affinity Missions). The combat system feels odd - everything seems to happen automatically, and I don't have much control over it.

Two questions for veterans:

1. What do the exclamation marks on abilities mean? I assume you’re in the correct position.

2. How does stagger trigger?

It means there’s some bonus damage from using it. Could be that you’re in the correct position, or e.g. the enemy is toppled and that move does bonus damage against toppled enemies.

2. How does stagger trigger?
Elma’s Shadow Strike move does it. Not sure what other moves do it.

What exactly dont you get? Maybe try putting more than 4 hrs into the game?

It's the kind of game that opens up and constantly has more and more to show. Have you even gotten to the portion where Online opens up?

If you absolutely hate MMO style combat they ok yeah, maybe not the game for you, but the combat opens up the more arts and skills you get and when you get your Skell. The more you put into the game the more you will get out of it, but to judge it with less than 10hrs game time is doing it a huge disservice.

1. It means it's a good time to use that art. You are either in the correct position (to the side, In front, or behind the enemy) to do major damage or that skill will trigger the next debilitating phase for the enemy, i.e. stagger-> topple->launch->smash

2. Stagger is associated with certain arts. Look for an Art that triggers the stagger phase.

Auto attacks are as stated automatic. You have full control over position and have control over weapon arts. And it requires knowledge on resistances/weaknesses and positionals. The more you play the more possibilities that open up to you. This is a slow burn MMO kind of game. Once you understand how the game plays you as a level 3 can take out a lvl 92 enemy. Since HP doesn't matter as much as Accuracy and as mentioned Resistance and exploiting weaknesses. Not to mention all the multipliers in Overdrive. Or the Stagger/Topple/Break systems in place that stunlocks enemies.

Yes, but I am playing offline.
It's actually very fun and it's one of those "passive" online games. Here are some quick pro tips

1. Try to upgrade your arts and skills often.
2. Update your collectopedia often as it's a good way to earn BP and upgrade those arts and skills
3. Put money into the Arms Manufacturers so that they create better gear.
4. Do plenty of quick side missions from mission command as they can be a good source of money and/or gear
5. Put down as many probes as you can and be sure to install different types of probes like mining and research ones (they provide you with frequent money influxes and other bonuses)
6. Go off the beaten path when possible. There are tons of secret areas/caves/etc.

Like I said the more you put into the game the more you get out of it.

And to anyone reading this comment, please don’t spoil it if there’s some new stuff in the DE that connects it to the other games, I’d rather leave that as a surprise.
This is why I won’t visit the OT often because other people just play games way faster than me.

It takes me long time to finish games.

Yeah I’m just waiting for some pedantic dipshit to respond to my post like

“Uh well akshually
Bunch of stuff that no new Xenoblade player needs to know about but I’m spoiling it for the sake of being technically correct, also here’s some spoiler filled headcanon that’s not even in the game

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
33 hours in, unlocked the skell at the 28 hour mark - so the old "it takes 60 hours to get the mech" argument isn't really valid for this version. I'm doing tons of side quests and whatnot. Man, the more you do, the more that opens up.

My total survey percentage is like 17%. Damn this game has some things to do.

What activities do I have to do to get the Skell?

You get the option directly after finishing the Chapter 6 story mission.

You're given a list of 8 tasks to perform, one revolving around each of the game's factions. So it's stuff like "go kill this monster", "go plant this probe", "go find these items", etc. By the time I got the tests, I had already inadvertently finished about half of them.
