having "better assets" dosnt make your game looks like a ps4/5 game, its look like a ps3 game with better assets and thats it.

you see Doom Raytraced look way way waaaay better than the non raytraced version ( Classic ) but that dosnt make it look like a ps4 game ( tbh is looks better the MP4 )

Because there is an 18 year gap between Crysis and Metroid Prime 4, and yet Crysis looks better.

This is the equivalent time of having a PS2 in 2001 and going back to the Atari 2600.
Not sure what you expected from this when the handheld Switch profile is tangibly at the level of an Xbox 360 (and slightly worse, when it comes to memory bandwidth). Some of you must have forgotten how shit the SoC in that thing is.

I don't honestly believe the best looking Switch games look better than the best looking 360 games.

Nothing on switch looks better than Forza Horizon 2, Gears 3, or GTA V for example.

For Gears 3 in particular, the Switch can run UE4 which was out of the 360's reach. I am totally sure this was because of the 4 gb of ram however, X360 would have been able to do so with more memory almost certainly.

Those games are well behind the best looking Switch games graphically, they have lower resolution textures, older and cruder lighting/shading, more aliasing, etc.

Heck, Crysis 2/3 on 360 tops those, and the Switch versions of those games in turn trounces the 360 versions, Switch is just objectively more capable hardware.

It visually looks like total shit it's very dated washed out and lacks detail, Hopefully there will be a Switch 2 edition.

Before I get attacked I bet the game is great, Just being honest it's not a looker.

At this rate, you have to get your eyes checked, lol. Not only were you confused by the fake picture, but you also have zero ideas of how graphical clarity works.
Show me one Switch game that actually has a lot of things happening in the background at once.

I have a Switch and can't think of any.

Remember this, Gears 3 had a 5 v 5 multiplayer as well.

The lighting here is well below the better looking Switch games, with that typical 7th gen pre-PBR look where everything looks either like clay or plastic, something like Prime Remastered has far superior shading and materials and runs at twice the framerate and a higher resolution.

Don't get me wrong, Gears 3 is a stunning game for its time and hardware, but the Switch is just significantly more graphically capable than the 360.

Switch can do nice looking games. This game just doesn't look great - I'm sorry I don't know how people are giving it a pass. Metroid Prime was a powerhouse when it came out looks-wise

I have played Metroid Prime 1/2 and the remaster on Switch.

The remaster looks impressive for sure, BUT there is not much happening n the world dynamically.

That's the thing about most Switch games, the worlds aren't dynamic on average.

PS360 had some impressive looking games, with a lot going on in the background whether it be from multiplayer or the campaign of games.

None of those games are touching MP4 and XCXDE

The world's in these games are static as hell, I have XCX and beat it.

Forza Horizon for example is doing an open world with 16 players simultaneously doing there own thing and Gears 3 is 10 player multiplayer with 4 player coop, that is dynamic.

Forza Horizon 2 on 360

Switch games don't have dynamic elements.

If you want something with more action going on at once, the Crysis remasters on Switch do plenty of that while featuring a bunch of upgrades over the PS3/360 versions and smoother performance.

Not sure if serious it looks depressingly underwhelming.... this is coming from a huge metroid fan. It looks worse than halo 4 on the damn 360...metroid on the gamecube was a damn showstopper while even for the switches hardware this is just sad.

Perhaps you should've watched the video before posting it.

Why don't you understand what resolution is?

The game is meant to be played on a 720P or 1080P screen.

By stretching the image you're degrading the image by adding severe blur which would not exist when ran on the actual intended screen...

It's the same reason why retro games look bad on HDTV's in comparison to CRTs (SDTV).

This is what the 360 version of Halo 4 looks like when it's not stretched out, due to lack of knowledge on resolutions.

I hope the music is as good as it was in Prime 1. Never played any others, but I am looking forward to playing this and catching up with the other ones.

Dude, it was a screencap of a YouTube video running on 1080p; I even sharpened it on Photoshop to make it more clear, same as MP4 screencaps. Take a look at the text sharpness and compare it to the other resolutions.

I just installed Halo 4 on my PC; a direct feed image is on the way.

Please watch the Halo 4 YouTube video I posted, please.

It will do the talking.

What you posted was inaccurate, it's okay dude.

the fact that it's 60fps while looking like this is what's really impressive.

also, I see a lot of highly retarded takes in this thread

And IMO Xenoblade 3 looks way better than Xenoblade X in terms of assets and lighting since X is a pre-PBR game for Nintendo, even Xenoblade 2 is full PBR and shows big improvements in materials... Even so Xenoblade X is just clearly much better looking and complex than anything on 7th gen lol.

MP4 just smokes anything from PS360, it's basically a 7th/8th gen hybrid graphically, with all the modern techniques for rendering materials and lighting from 8th gen but reduced scope like 7th gen in terms of assets density.

And if we're talking about games like Zeldas with shitton of interactions PLUS PBR + realtime GI, volumetric lighting and so on and so forth, yeah, Switch isn't a PS4 but it's a clear jump ahead of PS3.

It just looks like a switch game, it's nice they got it to run at 60 but other than that it's not impressive.

If you think this was switch 2 footage your standards are in the mud.

Looks good to me and the most important part is that Nintendo makes the best console games. So it doesn't matter if they are not high end eye candy.

The art direction though...what happened? This NOT feel like a Retro Studios title so far. Low res trailer, subpar music, almost bad art and zero atmosphere. I hope I'm wrong in the end though.

And also, the colors! Oh-no!

Crysis levels are way more open and have destructible environments.

There is no way MP4 will have half of what Crysis does, in any moment of the gameplay.

All the footage shown so far of MP4 are really linear, with not much happening.

You asked for a higher res Crysis shot, here it is!

This looks multiple gens ahead of anything on the Switch, and it came in 2007.

Jokes on you because the switch can run crysis
