I mean if this thing is $600+ CAD then definitely not.

I'm just not into Nintendo enough for that. And it will never be the best option for 3rd party games....

Switch 2 - € 469,99
Switch 2 + Mario Kart World (digitaal) - € 509,99
Mario Kart World (digitaal) - € 79,99
Mario kart World (fysiek) - € 89,99
Donkey Kong Bananza (digitaal) - € 69,99
Donkey Kong Bananza (fysiek) - € 79,99
MicroSD Express-kaart 256gb - € 59,99
Nintendo Switch 2-camera - € 59,99
Nintendo GameCube (GCN) Controller - Nintendo Classics - € 69,99
Nintendo Switch 2-Pro-controller - € 89,99

Taken from the store. Let that sink in for a minute.

I was already pretty much already sold, won't be missing out on all the good Nintendo games coming. But this reveal didn't sell me on it any more, no. It all feels very Switch 1.5, and I was hoping for more exciting game reveals.

I'm not anti switch 2 but nothing they showed was exciting or appealing. They've gone the iphone route and made a device that's very similar, just a bit faster with features that i probably won't use. Mario kart world looks alright but 100 bucks? Eh.

All that said my son is probably down so yeah we'll get one

No dpad, no full backwards compatibility, making me a buy a new SD card, and only 4 new games of any interest, really just DK for me, did not sell me on it I'm afraid.

I'm not dissapointed since I never had a Switch, meaning, the Zelda's and Marios released so far will be actually new to me.

Having said that, I don't see the reason getting it day one since Metroid, Bloodborne Ring and Demon x machina 2 (looked good) are all scheduled for 2026.

Not interested in Mario karts or what have you so...this will.be a 2026 buy for me

PS: I also need to see first how much they will charge for those switch 1 to switch 2 upgrades

Eh we had the same outrage when the Switch launched, calling everything extremely expensive. At the end the prices went down around release and it was fine.

I recall the Pro controller was told to cost 70 and I got it for 55

There was nothing shown that makes me feel I need a Switch 2 at the moment. That will probably change in the future when more first-party games come out.

Hell fucking no if true

Wait Metroid isn't out this year? I must have missed that

DK looks good, but no nowhere near. Especially after the Switch was a massive disappointment in terms of software for me.

I don't Have the money for one. I'll wait for a while and get one once they have been out a few months.

I'll get one eventually but in no hurry. Will wait.
I'm currently watching the direct and not much to interject so far.
1080p 120hz HDR screen is probly it's best feature. 8 inches is pretty big. Might not have to wait for OLED if the screen is good enough.

I'll get one for my wife and I to play Mario kart and eventually it will have a new animal crossing other than dk which looks good this was damn bad

If the reports are true and games are $80+, in addition to the $449 price point I'm going to hold off for now. Unless in the next few days the tree house demos change my mind, I just don't see the incentive for me personally to upgrade right now.

Nothing to pull me in was shown to be honest. There also seem to be a lot of potential extras to pay for as well, and it wasn't made massively clear what was needed to play certain games.

Charging for a tutorial of the system is only something Nintendo could get away with.

The difference is since then we had Covid, massive inflation, war in Ukraine, budgets being cut left and right or redirected for military spending, and now US is on a brink of recession. By comparison 2017 was party time.

Yes, definitely, it is exactly what I expected from it, I don't get what else were people expecting lol for it to take on a flight and then get home and wash your dishes?

Not at launch, no.
Even coming in with low expectations the hardware looks very underpowered.
The only launch game that appeals to me is DK, but it doesn't looks $500 good. The only other remotely interesting game is that FROM one which isn't even coming out this year.

I'd reconsider in a few years once they have a new 3D Zelda, 3D Mario, something new by Monolith, maybe a new Fire Emblem. Though the hardware looks weak enough it might get emulated by then lol.

No only the From Software game is exciting, the rest is the usual stuff already seen countless times but the age of buying a console just for a few games it's over for me with the available time.

Pass. There were some neat games shown but they're probably going to be multi-platform. I'll emulate the exclusives.

Playing PS3 looking games but now at 60fps just doesn't do it for me. Will wait for Switch 2 emulator for PC in few years to catch up with the library once it stacks up.

This is an industrial disaster.

Even Wii U had some hype with Zelda tech Demo.

Worst console reveal of all time. Only valuable games are MK World and DK, but those are Switch 1 level games.
And the price... what the fuck are they thinking ?

It will bomb.

hahahah, as I was just playing Kirby and the forgotten lands in 8k last night

My hype was through the stratosphere during the Mario Kart World unveiling, I thought they were gonna have a bunch of first party bangers to show off.

Holy fuck what have they been doing for so long? No Mario or Zelda, not even a teaser. Not even COD, RDR2, GTA5, or any third party game that anyone gives a fuck about. All of the ports they showed looked like the worst versions.

The new From game looks like a PS3 launch title. They showed a bunch of Kirby shit that nobody on earth asked for. I mean they couldn't throw together a Wind Waker/TPP remaster or add some new worlds to Mario Odyssey?

And the fucking WHEEL CHAIR BASKETBALL. Holy fuck.

I'm a 40 year Nintendo fanboy who has owned every console day one and now I probably won't get one until next year at the earliest. Mario Kart looks amazing but there's nothing else I'm interested in. I want Nintendo games on my Nintendo system. I can play third party games at PS5 fidelity on my Portal.

God help the Switch 2 sales this holiday if GTA6 launches in the fall. I cannot believe how bad that Direct was after waiting so long for it.
