And it's still significantly cheaper than it used to be. You know, tv shows didnt start with streaming services believe it or notEvery streaming service I listed has gone up in price steadily.

Ok…..but the current medium through which we view shows/music has been getting steadily more expensive. I'm not sure what the argument here is.And it's still significantly cheaper than it used to be. You know, tv shows didnt start with streaming services believe it or not
yes because it has more content. meanwhile for the most part games have been releasing with less content than 20 years ago.Ok…..but the current medium through which we view shows/music has been getting steadily more expensive. I'm not sure what the argument here is.
That's a huge drastic lifestyle change to cope with the console gaming.Buy less games. You don't need every hit game that comes out if you can't afford it. NES and SNES games were in the 50 dollar range in the 90s. If you haven't noticed, everything else has gotten way more expensive since then. I really don't want to be insensitive but I'm genuinely tired of the whining. Cancel your Netflix/hulu/max/disney+/bangbros/spotify/youtubepremium subscriptions or stop buying every newest iteration of the iPhone. Stop getting food from apps. Game development has gotten more expensive. I don't see the issue.
The price of games will go up on steam too, dumbass. That's a huge drastic lifestyle change to cope with the console gaming.
Yep. And those cheaper key sites will go up as well and we'll be paying the original full retail price. The price of games will go up on steam too, dumbass.
Are you also unaware that Rockstar that RDR was upgraded for XBO X and PS4 Pro? Are you aware that GTA V came out 2/3 full years before the upgraded 8th gen consoles but GTA VI will be releasing a year and a half after the Pro?An IGN personality unaware of the fact that Rockstar's never optimized a game for a Pro console?
And it's not really cheaper either. Cable used to be like $60-150 extra on top in Internet connection (depending on add-ons) or less.Ok…..but the current medium through which we view shows/music has been getting steadily more expensive. I'm not sure what the argument here is.
WYM? There was both a Pro and XSX patch for RDR2 upping the resolution and locked framerate. An IGN personality unaware of the fact that Rockstar's never optimized a game for a Pro console?
In defense of PC gaming, I must say this:The price of games will go up on steam too, dumbass.
Difference is that change depends entirely on each publisher. Valve doesn't control game price on their store like console companies. The price of games will go up on steam too, dumbass.
Like anything in life, if it gets too pricey just cut back.
It's like people who complain about movie and music subs. Well, if it's so expensive why do you do NF, Disney, Spotify and also have traditional cable TV? Sounds like a lot of monthly fees. Why not cut back to only the 2 of them you use the most?
It's like when I first moved out and the first thing I did was get my cable company to get me high speed internet + VIP cable TV tier + sports package + movie package. I think my monthly bill was over $200. Sports and movies alone was around $50. Then realizing what a waste of money that was, I cut it all back down to high speed internet and basic cable TV tier. I like sports and movies, but I dont like it that much.
Even a few years back, I switched back to an independent internet service provider and got a cheap low tier bandwidth plan that works.
It's a very live for today kind of world. People got to have it all now. But got to give credit to companies with slick marketing getting people to buy shit when they probably can't afford it.This is my response too! Every time!!!! Why have it all and all at the same time if it's too expensive?

It's like all the 27 year olds at work all leasing bmws and Audis. They make good money at a young age and blow it right away on luxury tier cars. And of course can't forget two trips a year to Mexico and daily Starbucks runs. And they complain they are broke and can't understand why their $100k salary plus bonus doesn't go farther. Same crowd who always gets Mac's, iPhones and Iwatches too.
You know that's not exclusive to Steam right? Console manufacturers don't enforce pricing any more then Valve.Difference is that change depends entirely on each publisher. Valve doesn't control game price on their store like console companies.
iwatches are the worst.BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The two trips to Mexico and Italy are soooo true.![]()

While spending $80 per month on Starbucks, but got the nerve to get mad when Disney+ increases their monthly subscription by $2 a month. CRAZY!
At least here, game prices on the Xbox store are totally different depending on the publisher as well, just like on Steam.Difference is that change depends entirely on each publisher. Valve doesn't control game price on their store like console companies.
Yep. And those cheaper key sites will go up as well and we'll be paying the original full retail price.
You know, "saving."
It's not lack of knowledge, they know this. It's just a stupid PCMR retard narrative.A lot of the people who talk the most about how expensive games are on console never seem to remember that - (on PS) there are constant sales going on in the store, physical games are often cheaper than digital, and second hand even cheaper than that. That lack of knowledge shows in so many posts about how much you "save" by gaming on PC.
You can buy and sell used games on console. That alone negates any argument that PC is cheaper. In defense of PC gaming, I must say this:
1. You don't have to buy the newest shit.
2. Plenty of indies and older games at better prices.
3. Yes, the games will be cheaper on key sites after a few months no matter what you say.
4. Games will still be cheaper than console due to discounts.
5. Even a shitty rig will get you plenty of games to choose from.
It's mainly Sony, there's been a bunch of lawsuits that brought it up:You know that's not exclusive to Steam right? Console manufacturers don't enforce pricing any more then Valve.
Deals could and I'm sure do exist but that's also not going to be exclusive to consoles.
The second difference between PlayStation consoles and others, the suit argues, is that PlayStation game publishers "must cede total control over the retail price to Sony."
The suit cites a PlayStation Global Developer and Publisher Agreement filed with the SEC that states local Sony Interactive Entertainment affiliates have "the sole and exclusive right to set the retail price to Users for Digitally Delivered Products sold or otherwise made available for purchase on or through PSN in its territory" and to "modify any Digitally Delivered Product's retail price at any time without notice to Publisher." This is in contrast to Microsoft and Nintendo, which "allow developers who sell games through their platforms to set the retail price."
Good luck. Physical is on its last legs. Also, I can't guarantee that used games I buy won't be scratched disks. You can buy and sell used games on console. That alone negates any argument that PC is cheaper.
Good luck. Physical is on its last legs. Also, I can't guarantee that used games I buy won't be scratched disks.
Yes, yes, physical and consoles too have been on their "last legs" for years now. Also, as someone who actually buys physical, you check the disc before you purchase or (if purchased online) you return a scratched disc.
Do you ever get tired of waging your little war against console players?
Just spitting fact. No war around here.
Going to a restaurant with two people costs 70 eurodollars. Its expensive if You own the four ecosystems:
PS5
Series X
Switch
PC
This generation decided to play just on PS5 PRO, also reduced how many games Buy at release day by 1-3 per year specially single player ones since won't miss anything if You play it 1 year later
Gaming vs other hobbies is still affordable if You manage your spending.
I don't see how any one adult person can use multiple ecosystems in such a way to make it worth it.Its expensive if You own the four ecosystems:

Bro, don't you know that there isn't a single redeeming factor about consoles, every argument you have is fabricated, and that the only reason you would ever choose console over the glorious pc is because you are a retard? Get with the times my dude!Yes, the pic in your reply was all about "spitting fact". You have no idea about the realities of buying physical, how long the market will support it and consoles, and just use every opportunity you can to take meaningless jabs at people who have a different preference from you in how and where they game. It's ridiculously transparent and very tedious.
I own every platform but Xbox (traded my SX a couple weeks ago) and have my entire adult life including Xbox. Every platform has games that I care about, and I can ford to own multiple platforms. I just split my time across platforms.I don't see how any one adult person can use multiple ecosystems in such a way to make it worth it.
The time just isn't there.

Nothing will win over your audience better than this... StopBeingPoor.memeAsk for a raise then
Agreed. The funny part is that there is definitely fabrication going on here. I've seen people saying things like in PC gaming "you don't have to buy the newest shit" (as if waiting to buy is a unique concept to PC) and sub services for online cost $200/year (have no idea where that price came from and it also ignores sales/added games and benefits and those who don't subscribe). There was even a person who posted a PC build "equivalent" to PS5 - all used parts (of course) with a knock-off Nintendo controller. Then dismissed the idea that a used PS5 should be used for a comparison price point.
So many people who post shit like the above have zero idea about console gaming - and it shows. Then there's the habitual offenders like the person I replied to who's just incredibly insecure about the existence of different preferences in general
It is indeed spitting fact. Not my fault if some people refuses to accept the dismay of physical format. There isn't any reason to sugarcoat it.
We all have facts and figures.
Agreed.
I've been a gamer since 1989 (NES was my first console) and a PC gamer since 1993 (or thereabouts) and console gaming OR a similar form of easy ON/OFF accessible gaming will never die out.
I literally run a DC and have spent decades putting PCs/servers together and even I have periods where I can't look at a PC without being annoyed, let alone game on one. I know TONS of people who work with me and are spend their entire day repairing or configuring servers and switches and don't game on PC and many of them have told me that if PC were the only option they would just quit traditional gaming and stick to phone or tablet gaming (some of them are Platinum monsters and are what I would definitely consider hardcore gamers).
An easy option will always have to be available and sorry but PC is just not there - Steam Deck doesn't change that (also own an Ally X which I feel is significantly better BTW). Suspend/resume is broken 50% of the time; many games don't work (anti-cheat); graphics are lackluster on a bigger screen etc... Streaming is getting better and Moonlight/Apollo works very well for me on my Ally X, Shield Pro and laptop but there are always issues where I have to switch to KB+mouse or hold start to use my controller as a KB+mouse in Moonlight. Big Picture on my laptop sucks on the TV because I would say only 60% of my 1200+ PC games are on Steam. Playnite fullscreen is GREAT but the amount of times that I've had a pop-up appear makes the 'controller/couch' experience suck (UAC, game launcher requesting that you accept something, a game like Hitman or TR that makes you set things up in another launcher etc...).
A simple option will ALWAYS have to exist.
PC has grown and I'm happy but I'm not going to limit myself - PC, PS5 Pro, Series X (that I admittedly do not use much), Ally X and Steam Deck all in hand and I would say that my time is mostly split between the PC for MP shooters (hate playing long story games at the computer because I get distracted and it's not as comfortable) and PS5 Pro (definitely use it a lot more for SP games). I also use the Ally X to stream my PS5 using PXPlay and to play Game Pass games (native or remote if I'm home).
Consoles might be getting more expensive but PCs are already expensive and the prices are not even comparable . This BS narrative must stop. I have a 4070 with 32 GB of RAM and a 12700K and it easily cost me over $2200 CAD (at 4070 launch). My Pro, Series X and Steam Deck put together cost less than my PC. PCs have some amazing advantages but price is not one and neither is stability (at least for new releases). I have Maybe 45 mins to an hour a day to game and, at most, 2-3 hours on the weekend if I forego sleep and I can't be bothered with anything that limits my playtime.
*EDIT: Didn't change anything - just clarifying that I have a Desktop with a 4070 and a laptop with a 4060 that I use to stream/play games on my TV.
Console warring isn't "spitting fact". You should be old enough to tell the difference. You also don't have facts and figures because you're not about accuracy or having a discussion.
only a console fanboy will think spitting facts is console warring. You're getting your emotional misleading yourself. At this point, presenting facts and figures that physical has declined into a small niche, is redundant.
