Death Stranding 2: On the Beach |OT| Ain't That A Beach

I saw an article saying that the recap and in game codex logs are enough to get those that didn't finish or play the first game up to speed. Would you say that's accurate? I'm keen to just hop into the second game as it looks a bit more interesting to me than the first.
It's short but accurate, dont explain everything mostly the start bits and ending

Man this game just feels so fucking good to play. All the systems, the controls, animations, the amazing haptic and trigger implementation adds a lot aswell. Also vehicle controls are massively improved, atleast the truck i found. Combat is hilarious now you can do so much shit. I advise to do the VR tutorial for it when its available

I was going to post exactly that right now

Vehicle control has improved so much, it doesn't get stuck in the map as much as the previous game. I am loving that

woah at the opening section, it looks amazing on pro.
with incredible aerial cam, rain, tremor effects on top. quite a decima flex there.
unfortunately will need to continue after work.

One thing is really disappointing about the graphics are the mid range details. It looks so bad. Like the things close to you looks good, things far away like mountains looks amazing, but then you look at the ground and its like a ps2 textures. They should've focus on improving that thing, because it really sticks out :(

Thank fucking god, vehicles handling in the first one felt terrible unless it was perfect asphalt.

maybe motion blur? there is no option to remove it

I am playing on quality mode and haven't noticed this issue. Can you post screenshots of this issue?

Yeah, like every tiny pebble would stop the tricycle und trucks. Really nervracking. It seemed as if they designed the maps with on foot traversal in mind...and then slapped vehicles on it and called it a day without smoothing out how they handle bumps and stones and pebbles.

But I resorted to on foot delivery 90% of the time
Might change that in the 2nd if the handling is indeed much improved.

Just started it :messenger_fire: :messenger_beermugs:

Performance mode seems to be the best mode on the Pro. The 30fps of the quality mode coupled with the motion blur actually make the image less clear.

Now I'll have to watch a detailed recap video of the original before proceeding.

Is the "MP" still the same? See other people's buildings/vehicles and all contribute to building roads?

Cause you best believe I built every single road I could on DS1. Was better than delivering packages IMO

Are you sure it's not a bokeh type of effect in certain occasions?
From the DF video I saw some instances of lens aperture effects in certain shots.

Usually consoles dont use anisotropic filtering x16 like on pc.

This is a console version after all. I am sure the PC version will fix it

Im talking about shit like this. This is not AF issue nor DoF. Its shit LOD and ground detail at mid range

This is something that I am sure will be better on PC. That being said I haven't seen anything like that so far while playing, maybe in quality mode these lod issues are less obvious

I thought quality mode on pro is extremely jaggy, not a pleasant experience, although it does look slightly sharper but difference is nowhere near the difference you get in smoothness

Jesus tittyfucking christ

Pretty damn photorealistic to me. That Decima engine man. KojiPro does more wonders with it than Guerilla.

Please don't post open spoilers here if you're thinking about it. If you guys want an open spoiler thread for this game, I will make one.

With that out of the way, time to finally start my journey!

Same spot, quality mode. They look relatively similar I believe but a Quality mode looks a bit better, it seems to me the LOD is not great in some spots. This is the trade off when playing on consoles unfortunately

Stranding games always look incredible

One thing I love so far is that menus are less confusing than the previous game.

Everything is more tidy and organized
funny you say this. literally just started DS1 yesterday. about halfway through chapter 3 i imagine. 3-ish hours in. fucking menus man. i get to terminals with shit i picked up along the way and it's like, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS?! recycle, give it away, donate, deliver (although sometimes it's grayed out), yadda yadda. let's just make it an easy "turn everything in" and be on with our day. good to hear things are a little more streamlined!

95% here, it was that or throwing the game out of the window, i already hate driving in games enough as it is :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Shit its GTAV grass gate all over again!

That top image in the other post isn't Perfromance mode on pro vs Quality mode is it?

I feel sorry for people that saying they wont play this, because its a "walking sim". The gameplay is just *chefs kiss* especially in this one with all the improved mechanics and the social strand mechanic is still the coolest shit ever.

Yeah it doesn't look very good, but i think its common for quite a lot of games.
Let's hope its some kind of bug and they fix it
I don't remember such cases in Forbidden West.
