I loved Ghost of Tsushima... why am I not excited for Ghost of Yotei??

Yeah, maybe she's cringe in-person, she's just the voice actor tho

What I do find amusing is the people complaining its too much like the first game also want to play as Jin.... in Tsushima..... against the Mongols (second invasion)?

Smh, what could have been. :/

She already acted in callisto protocol and tv, what the fuck do they want? Multiple oscars winners? :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

This sound like fake, even sony is not stupid enough to pick that nobody gargoyle over a much well known name.

Unless karen acted like a karen and asked 10x times the money.

Why would asking for her worth make her a Karen? She would have been way better for the game.

if they didn't reached to her but it was her choice, i think that asking a bit less than what you get paid in hollywood is the correct thing to do, it means that she was passionate about the project, you don't try to get into a videogame project expecting to be payed as much as hollywood, cmon.

She is not THAT famous nor THAT talented to be payed 10x times another good voice actor with previous experience.

The most probable thing is that the news is a fake, i don't see sony ever choosing a nobody over her if she didn't asked for a world of money.

The karen thing was just a joke about her name.

We're not at the gym, we're in feudal fucking Japan.

Yes, and it makes sense for her to look like a "simple woman" She's exactly that. Likewise, I'm fine with a combat android looking the other glamurous way.

IMO Sucker Punch just went a bit too far and chose the "worst" option possible. See Naoe from Shadows, for example. She looks on point as a japanese ninja.

I like the design of the MC in Blue Eyed Samurai. She looks way cooler.

Maybe because they chose ugly over cute for the character.

It's the western way.

Got to dumb down the women to make all the fuglies at head office feel better about themselves. One thing they cant stand are good looking women.

But funny how the male leads are usually still pretty studly being fit, handsome and sometimes got some nice looking 5 o clock shadow or trimmed beard. As if the guy running around in emergency situations killing mobs of enemies has time to stop in a bathroom and groom his face with a beard trimmer.

What doesnt make sense is when the real actress doing gaming VA or mocap can be good looking in games. But they still dumb her down. It's not like she's a fake person, so it cant get any easier to just use her real self. But they spend time and money making her look worse. But then the male actor they use looks just like him.

Figure that one out.

They were probably looking for an activist, which Karen probably isn't. Activist modern developer. That's why I don't buy Sony's 1st games anymore. I won't give my money to activists

Maybe because she is an activist?

This isn't activism. I think the right would call this "woke" ideology.

I think the important thing here is that there are a lot of people who share these views, but in most cases, that's all they are, views, so I'm not really seeing whatever you think the controversy is here.

I'd go as far to say that I'm personally aligned with the intentions she has, but in my day to day life I wouldn't really want to have anything to do with someone like this because they're annoying.

But the model doesn't even look that similar to her face and she is not even voice acting the character, if it was so important to have her to prove a point, they should have used her exact face and voice...this is why i'm not fully convinced even if it's probably the truth...

But she is an activist. Some of those things listed below I had to google what they represent. And they focus on LBQTG. And some others involve general civil liberties.

Tell me about your activism. What drives you?

I hope to change the world through stories and the communities that form around them. I am endlessly inspired by my friends, family, and online community. My twitch channel viewers have raised well over $100,000 over the past few years for numerous charities covering a myriad of causes: National Alliance on Mental Illnesses (NAMI), The Trevor Project, Black Girls Code, The Okra Project, Worldbuilders, ACLU, ExtraLife, and more. Friends have fundraised at my 24-hour livestreamed parties by doing things from Jello-wrestling to pie-throwing, eating spiders, writing, and reading erotic fanfiction, and lighting each other on fire. So many nerds who are passionate about pop culture just want to be as heroic as the characters they admire. When given the chance, they more than prove themselves worthy.

Propaganda trash

Yeaaaaa with all the negativity surrounding this transformer, i am not seeing the game selling well compared to the original. There will be nothing but negativity on the socials when it comes out, bad for marketing. But who gives a shit, it'll teach CaliSony to wake the fuck up, and hire non activist transformers in the future. At least that's what you'd hope lmao but you really don't know at this point.

Smh, what could have been. :/

I love her and she's amazing as Kimiko but I gather she wasn't hired just because it's her. But given the way things are going with paying actors, I wouldn't be surprised if SP just thought she'd cost more than they were willing to pay.

Although I just admit with her current fame due to the boys, it would've been amazing to have her as the lead.

Because "The Future is Female"

Nah, just kidding (sorta).

But it feels derivative and lacking the main character we all fell in love with over dozens of hours in the first one. It's an unforced error to ask us to start over with a sequel but yank us away from who we were attached to. I think most of us would have voted for a brand new IP if the only option for a sequel was this.

They did this with inFAMOUS as well when we were so attached to Cole and then they were like "nah, forget him, play as Native American Troy Baker." So naturally, Second Son isn't cherished and loved by most people who played the first two.

The ironic part is Ai Fairouz is a gym nut herself and she happens to also check the "diversity" tickboxes as she's also Egyptian.

I guess even that wasn't enough... 🤷‍♂️

being Japanese isn't diverse? Every race is part of diversity except the whites. That is how it works. Whites are the oppressors and every other race is part of DEI.

I think it's unlikely to see a big change anytime soon. Sony is rolling in cash enough to throw billions without giving a fuck. They'll afford to keep hiring these activists even if the games sell like shit.

Well, a bunch of white people born and raised in different parts of the world like US, Finland, Russia and South Africa can all look similar. So they must be all the same!

But a white, black, latino and asian all friends growing up in the same neighbourhood and schools are totally diverse!

If some people cant even understand the basic concept of Fresh Prince in Bel Air, they wont understand it in real life.

Probably because this game design formula, which was never good to begin with, has been copy pasted ad nauseam by multiple developers for almost a decade now.

Asians tend to be considered "white-adjacent", so even though they're a minority, they're near the bottom of the oppression stack. Everything else, I agree with you.

But yeah, if I were to cede to your point, Ai Fairouz is both Japanese and Egyptian and apparently even that combination ain't enough.

They tried to totally change Cole's character design for Infamous 2 as well, but it was shown early enough and everybody complained so they changed it back.
