Battlefield 6 Multiplayer reveal - 31st July 2025 (11:30 PT // 14:30 ET // 19:30 UK)

Wonder where the whole 14 or 15 maps thing originated from.

Also, nothing is required for that open bèta, right? We'll all just be able to download it and go?

Yup download and go for open beta. Unless you wanted those two extra days you just needed to either have signed up for BF Labs before today OR watch one of the streamers during the event today on Twitch to get a drop.

I think the multiplayer trailer was one of the best they have ever made. I honestly look if there where the physical pre-orders available at Amazon. But when the annouced that it was going to be an streamers show... I knew something might be kind of off.

I mean, just seeing streamers trying to pull CoD movements, trying to get into trucks, running with knives or praising the BR mode... they really are disconnected from the people that actually play the games for entertainment.

I dont know, I still see me playing this game, and I already secured a the early access for the Beta, but something aint that right, I hope they dont hear these people feedback, these kind of shit helped the final downfall of CoD.

Just thought of this, what is up with no more us vs russia or china, etc? Is this shit too political for the little EA now? Such pussies. These made up factions are trash.

Put players without paid skins in the same lobbies as players who have spent shit tons of money on skins. The hope is that some of those players will think a certain skin is cool af and make him want to pay for it as well.

It's all about player data that they have access to, they just need to carefully fit it into their "Engagement Oriented Match Making"
I see.

Good thing skins don't give me FOMO, I feel that if it's only aesthetic then it's on the user not on EA.

Yeah I don't like this "Pax Armata" thing very much either, but they don't want to antagonize huge playerbases like China and such so they can't really have a "NATO vs BRICS" scenario or anything of the sort.
It's not a deal breaker to me but it does feel like a step backwards compared to the early days of the franchise. It is what it is.
I see.

Also depends on the person, to me skins just make me want not to engage with them at all. I liked COD MW 2019, I never particularly cared about Warzone but once they began the skins shenanigans I was completely out, every time I see one of those ridiculous skins just makes me not want to touch that game ever.
And Battlefield V also does this to a lesser extent, I don't quit the game but it does ruin my immersion every time I see a German running around Iwo Jima or a Japanese woman slashing down Brits in Rotterdam, whenever I see one of those fuckers I do everything within my power to kill them and grief them as much as I can. And no, I'm not ashamed of it, fuck those dumb skins ruining my world war 2 experience :messenger_unamused:

If the skins are conservative and believable then I won't mind it, but I know better by now than to trust the likes of EA to not take it too far to try and sell as many skins as they possibly can.

100m concurrent players.
They're dreaming lol and even if this was the case, so what? It's just a damn game. If Russia is too much for the current year, then there's plenty of other countries out there that they could've chosen from.

On a side note, i really liked the the little trash talking we heard from the playable characters in BF3, BF4 and BC2, and hope it's in BF6 cuz it was cringe af in 2042.

Yeah, I understand that. I don't particularly care when they have designs like the ones in BFV but I prefer if they have an art direction that is consistent with the rest of the game.

I played Warzone like 15 minutes and didn't come across any weird skins but I've seen them elsewhere and it does put me off.

Even if it is an unrealistic number, it's the simplest, cleanest, and most straightforward answer to any question about "Why Pax Armata"

They want to absorb as many player numbers as possible.

That was exactly their message for the last 2 Battlefield games as well. Verbatim!

Was it?

I would agree, their trailer for 2042, they tried to play off to the fans. The rendezook scene, the germans launching their vehicle....all saying "see we know what you guys want and we have it". And The 2042 trailers were peak deception.

But I dont recall, at any point, multiple developers emphasizing the community feedback as they did here.

Battlefield 5, they were far far more divisive in their message. Maybe during their Pacific expansion..they tried saying they learned their lesson (i wasnt paying attention or playing at that point) but during the lead up to BF5 reveal and after...the whole "dont buy the game if you dont like women" and " i want my daughter to have a character that represents her".

The messaging from today was to throw 2042 and DICE under the bus here. Hell, does DICE even exist at this point? I think i recall one person whos titled was associated with DICE. seemed like everyone else was under the "Battlefield" or "Battlefield Labs" umbrella. DICE's logo was always proudly at the beginning of any BF trailer.

Seems like only portal will have a server browser, the main game will be matchmaking only.

I'll make a guess as to why this is

PlqJmGQ.png

(this patent is from Activision but it's naive at best to think other publishers don't have similar systems on their games)
And here is the first red flag.

Goddammit EA just put a server browser ffs

I was sure I signed up for Labs but I must have messed it up somehow. I didn't get a confirmation email didn't think to check that back then but I do remember signing up on the labs page, missing out on the early access is a bummer but oh well. Anyone have a code from streaming they wanna PM me? Or is that all too late now? Pity the streaming happened while all us aussies were sleeping.

This is just one example of dozens at least

10 seconds of google search came up with this

I'd probably be able to find quite a few more examples if I tried but there isn't any point in doing so really.
Truth is they always try to play it up as if they're "doing it for the community" but in reality they're just trying to make a live-service Battlefield game happen, EA won't rest until they have a Warzone competitor.

Now, if the stars align making a good competitor might conflate with making a good game that Battlefield players actually want, one can only hope so. We'll have to wait and see.

But, looking over this article..the statement is made more by the writer then a DICE official. They mentioned listening to their community but they also talk about changing the game up, reworking classes.

I just dont recall the message, directly from the developers being so front and center that they messed up and are trying to win back the fans.

Maybe I am being hopeful...and stupid...but I just see this reveal and live event being different then previous ones

...a year from now I maybe be like...fuuuuu lol

I mean it's honestly way more realistic these days for us to fight groups like ISIS or Al-Qaeda or Shia militias than Russia or China.

We haven't fought a major power with ground troops since 1953 at the latest, but really not since 1945.

And that would be good. I just want it to be more realistic, and hear other languages being spoken by our characters. Whatever they have in BF6 is not what i want to see from BF.

It's obvious that they're doing it this way so as not to piss off Chinese censors or gamers but...

Is there any power that could even sort of challenge the US today? Honestly makes more sense if the threat comes from within.

Dice is still a part of the development team. There were a couple of Dice management on stage presenting today's showing.

ok, vinny z brought heat

  1. whoever chose "break stuff" for the song needs a raise
  2. same for the editor that lined up the sledgehammer swing with "BREAK YO FUCKIN FACE TONIGHT"
  3. Delta Force better fix their hacking problem or this game is going to eat them alive

That looked INSANE. Holy shit. Made me instantly want to play this game. I've been wanting a good battlefield since BC2, and this looks like the closest they've gotten to that game.

This is an instant classic trailer imo

They are in the back seat at this point. Basically acting as a support team. They had no influence on the direction of BF6. This is Vince Zampella's game. One of the last vets of the genre. You can track the success of CoD back to his involvement and now he's doing it with BF. He's a true professional in this business.

That's probably going to be the twist. The Metal Gear-style PMC breakoff faction or some sort of coup. Hopefully they write it decent enough to be fun or interesting.

My main concern are the maps at this point. The most memorable Battlefield games had large maps where each conquest flag felt like its own epic battle to assault and defend. I'm not talking about 2042 large but large enough where things didn't feel too clustered and you could play a bit slower and more tactical. Maybe I'm in the minority here but a lot of these maps and their flags felt way too close to each other. Hopefully the final release and subsequent DLC has more of that OG Battlefield feel when it comes to a majority of their maps.

Too fast. Too wacky. Too Exxtreme(!).
Old school Battlefield is dead and gone it seems. BF2 aint walking thru that door.

Looks better than the past 3 entries at least - so back on the right track.
Ill buy it and play it - but maybe not quite what I wanted.

Watching that live stream was hilarious - everyone full auto hold down left click when enemies were miles away.
Ever hear of tap firing you dolts?

Hoping for much more open maps. All of those seemed super cramped.
But Im guessing big maps that allow for tactics and time to think would get in the way of the Xxxxtreme.

Great to see EA and DICE pivot back into the testosterone market, although trailers from them can be deceptive, BF2042 also had a pretty neutral reveal then the actual game was a complete ghey fuckup of enormous proportions.

Tentatively optimistic but fully prepared for typical Swede woke bullshit.

Trailer was hype.

The streaming footage was...more Battlefield. I mean if you haven't played a modern battlefield in a while and you enjoy the newer sequels I'm sure you'll love how this is more of the same?

So Limp Bizkit was kind of fitting. Nu-Metal + Nu-Battlefield= Same old shit.

Didn't have female voice actors literally screaming in your ears in the older games, don't know why they think that inclusion was ever a good idea. If inclusion is important you limit their shrill voices to vehicles, that works, this doesn't. There's something primordial that fucks with your head when you've got adrenaline going even a little bit and hearing distressed women, I can't stand it.

Your point seems entirely unrelated to drotahorror drotahorror 's point.
