People complained about the race in the original Mafia as well as the remake on classic. Never had an issue with any of them, always passed them in one or two tries. Am I weird or the rest of y'all can't drive?Fuck that 8 minute race. Took me 45 mins to win that shit.
I couldn't drive very well, either. Yet I completed it on first try. Didn't feel rewarding in any sense and I was quite mad. But whatever.People complained about the race in the original Mafia as well as the remake on classic. Never had an issue with any of them, always passed them in one or two tries. I'm not talking about beating just the race. It's beating it under 8 minutes to get the trophy.People complained about the race in the original Mafia as well as the remake on classic. Finished it couple days back. Thought it was solid all around. Only the framerate sucks
How do you get all the collectibles? Just chapter select? I bailed off the 100% after the BS with the no hit trophy. Really couldn't be bothered with itI need to replay it just to get the trophy for opening a safe without a combination. I missed the two opportunities and the first time is during Chapter 3. I'll probably stay for the rest of the way through by that point. It'll be like rewatching a great single season HBO series.

On what platform?

I hope less traversal stutter on ps5 in the fast pacing sessions. I would give a try but I'm not hold my breath. It means they injected more fun into the experience.

Why would there have been hints for that? In this type of life don't you think this can happen any moment without any hints? That's part of the tragedy and I'm sure this was done intentionally by the devs 100%. No offense, but this is a really strange take IMOI finished it about week or so ago and quite enjoyed it. It definitely had some jank from years past, like characters awkwardly getting into position for a cutscene or doing an action like opening a door, but it kinda felt nostalgic.
I did think that the story, which was pretty straightforward but still fun, kinda took a turn near the end and the pacing felt wrong. It wasn't as smooth as the rest of the game and felt rushed.
When Luca dies and out of absolutely nowhere, with no hints or anything, tells you to get out of the family, when the entire game he was grooming you to be a part of the family that he seemed to love
Shooting was a bit fiddly at times, but the rest of the gameplay was grand. I hate stealth, especially gameover if you fail stealth, but this game was mostly fine for someone like me.
Overall I'd absolutely recommend it. The story, characters, and world are worth the experience.
Did you read what I wrote right? It came completely out of the blue and it didn't make sense. The character didn't once show any signs they felt that way, ever. It was the complete opposite, actually, throughout the entire game to that point. All the other plot points you could see a mile off, but that scene was just out of place. Why would there have been hints for that? This is pretty much were I'm at too. Story is fine (very cliché tho) but the gameplay is often terrible. Special mention to the "stealth" part of the game where every enemy is conveniently moving to allow a very scripted progression. Haven't seen this since 2005.Finished. What a great story strapped to a mediocre game.
Uh. Theorically I guess when you are dying and you have the time to rethink about your whole life, you can be more conscious or simply admit how much wrong was your life choice though you never ever talked about it before. It's not exactly so strange see such pattern in an endlife character, it's quite common even in a movie.Did you read what I wrote right? It came completely out of the blue and it didn't make sense. I don't think it's mediocre but more bad paced. Too much long introduction, useless walking and chats moments, horrible stealth execution but the shooting sequences and the body combat with some enemies seems quite engaging to me. Anyway I suspect the reasons of some many approximations coming from the budget and the limited resource of the project. Probably Mafia Remake didn't sold well as expected they decided to try again and eventually repropose a main real release in case of positive sales.Finished. What a great story strapped to a mediocre game.
If Expedition 33 didnt come out this year this would be the best narrative by far. I love how it took the read dead redemption 2 route and made the first half of the game all about the romanticisation of the mob life only for it take on a much darker tone in the second half when it all comes crashing down once
But by god the gameplay is some xbox 360 throwback. Hated the very very linear mission structure where you get a game over running 10 meters away from what the game tells you to do. The repetition of stealth---> gunplay---> knife fight was also felt at the midway point where the devs really couldbt come up with better gameplay scenarios. What i would pay for Tlou 2 gameplay here.Luca died.
Solid 7.5 just for the story.
On second read, yeah I know what you meant now. But still, in his position, this is not something to share with anyone because it can cause a lot of trouble. When he was in that situation it didn't matter anymore.Did you read what I wrote right? It came completely out of the blue and it didn't make sense. That's fair, I just felt the scenario and end result of that event could've stayed as his own impactful thing, especially when Enzo gets (or had, time line is a bit fuzzy) a massive reason to do it himself anywayOn second read, yeah I know what you meant now. Has the free drive update dropped yet?
Some higher setting here and there but nothing of special. Perfomance mode is not worth it, can't keep 60 fps enough stable and the downgrade in the lighting imo is quite notable. Quality mode can run at 40 fps if you have a 120hz screen but I don't know if it's also a thing already on base console. How is this on PS5 Pro these days? Can I go back now and it doesn't bog down...
Probably they didn't expected to sell so well and they put on it the minimum contents for a driven narrative game. Also it explains how they can keep the launch price at 49,99 bucks. All that content should've been integrated in the campaign so there is a reason to do something between missions
Very weird choice to be honest
Hangar 13 has announced its previously promised Free Ride update for Mafia: The Old Country finally goes live on PS5 tomorrow, 20th November 2025. This all-new mode opens up the map for free roam and populates it with new activities and rewards. Learn all about it in the trailer above.
Free Ride works separately from the main story of Mafia: The Old Country, and allows you to "revisit the world in a more self-guided way". As you explore Sicili, you will discover horse races, car races, and challenges testing your combat and stealth skills.
We want players to explore the world in a freeform way, and Free Ride turns it into an expansive hub where you'll find and access various Challenges by travelling around, unlocking Hitching Posts, and meeting contacts," explained content manager Peter Amato. "Challenges are instanced and accessed via these contacts, and doing so will place you into a combat location or special world state."
Tomorrow's update also improves the base game with first-person driving and a Photo Mode, then offers a new way to experience the story in Cinema Siciliano mode. This option turns the game into "a genuine piece of classic Italian cinema. The visual treatment is stunning and it feels like you're experiencing a black-and-white movie shot on an old-school sound stage, while the vintage-sounding audio convincingly brings the whole thing together".
Free Ride is rounded out by a Classic difficulty mode, which increases the challenge even further. Everything you earn in Free Ride can then be carried over into the main campaign, giving you access to new guns and customisation items you wouldn't have had at that point before.

This is cool. I haven't played this game yet but definitely on my radar once I clear my absurd backlog.
