Kinda late, was thinking this would be Nov/Dec.

I guess that also means the same date for the Xbox version.

"Physical" as in actually physical, or a Game Key Card in a box?
My bet is game key card like Bravely Default. Squix is really milking FF7 it seems. I mean we know Rebirth exist but we get the base game instead of a combination of both current parts a very underwhelming offering in my opinion at what Im sure will be full price.

I hope it's price at around 30-40 euros.

Probably $40.

I'm not sure there would be enough space to have both games installed on Switch 2, lol.

Oh, if BD was then yeah for sure. Oh well. Digital it is, I guess.

According to google the FF7 remake on PS4 is 86BG, you aint getting that on a cart.

How was it handled on PS4, was it all on the disc?

Square actually delayed the release by a month, because they said they wanted to have the Day 1 version of the game on the disc. And almost got screwed over because of the pandemic.

There was no patch at all for like 8 months.

Looks like they're adding in Steam re-release style "cheats" to these releases, no word on whether these get added to the PS5 version via patches too.

What is the new Streamlined Progression setting in the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC versions of the game?

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE is not only coming to new platforms - it has new Streamlined progression feature that tweaks various aspects of the game so that every player can enjoy this brilliant story.

The progression features include:

  • HP is always full - your HP is at its maximum value at all times. Even when hit by an enemy, your HP won't go down. Instant death is also removed (sorry Tonberries!)
  • MP is always full - your MP is always at its maximum value. Sling out spells with wild abandon!
  • Limit gauge is always full - the Limit gauge is at maximum when you enter battle, and using powerful Limit Breaks won't deplete it.
  • ATB gauge is always full - your ATB gauge is always maxed out, so you can unleash abilities as much as you want without restriction!
  • Damage dealt is always 9999 - with this set on, you'll do maximum damage with every attack. No boss can stand against you!

I thought this was gonna be a sure fire end of December release as it sounds like they have been sitting on a completed version of this for a long time.

I guess end of Jan will be quieter on the release front and the install base will be massively higher too post xmas.

Pussy mode would have helped me a lot with getting the platinum for Rebirth.

Square Enix has DQ I+II at the end of October and Octopath Traveller 0 at the start of December. Maybe they are learning to spread games out a bit more

That was a rough platinum. Well the stuff I liked like the VR battles and some minigames was great, but there were a few minigames I really hated like that one where Yuffie and Aerith have to kill cactuars on a timer, that was tedious

If you preorder the game on Switch eshop, you get the original FFVII for free

Why wouldn't they mention that in the direct? Lol

Fuck that mini game and fuck Chadley as well. Fucking Rulers Of The Outerworlds gave me nightmare when I finally took Odin down I was done, got the platinum and I uninstalled it. Will never play Rebirth again, completely ruined it for me

fuck girl clone chadley too while we're at it

real talk though, when we get close to part 3 releasing I will replay the game on steam and do 100% achievements again like I did on ps5

I'll never do a platinum for Rebirth ever again in my life. I'd rather Platinum Devil May Cry 5 a million times over than do Rebirth again

I really hope game key cards fail in the long run. There has been so much backlash before these decisions were made, and publishers just keep acting like this:

npJ2WTFx0YvtYaiK.gif

But that's more on Nintendo than the publishers. They're the sole provider of Switch 2 cards, only in 64gb capacity of now which is a waste of space for smaller games, and taking a Ubisoft's developer comments at face value the card speed may be a limiting factor in some cases( case in point, Star Wars Outlaws). And expensive to boot....

good on them for charging $40 for this on Switch 2...but still...charging me $60 for a non game key cart version, and i'd be more then happy still.

I don't wanna hear about 64gb being too big, cuz if cyberpunk 2077 can fit on one with phantom liberty, then this could with some compression. Especially if we're looking at lower res assets being used compared to other versions.

Looks like this is one of the few legit Switch 2 games that needed a key card, coming in at 90GB..!

Also that $40 price tag is insane. This game better sell like hotcakes, esp on Xbox.you can't get much cheaper than that with SE and AAA FF

But Cyberpunk don't have a lot of videos. I actually don't remember having at all, with everything at real time. In that case is better for storage

We still can blame by not doing that much compressions. For fucks sake, people do all crazy ports back in the day, and RE2 still is the master example

I was complaining about 60 and 70 gb games, and this one is almost 90 GB ! I should have check on steam :
  • Storage: 100 GB available space
If 10, 20, 30, 50 gb games are not in the card , imagine this one ? Storage will be a massive issue on Switch 2, I am already running out of space. It seems that I will need to buy several SD cards, and swap then as needed.
