Super impressed by this speech from the kids. Someone already said it on here but I'm going to echo. I didn't know fuck all about the politics of my teachers in school, we did our school work and debated about the topics of the class. If any kids raised something of a political nature a teacher might ask them to explain their position.

I couldn't care less about Jimmy Kimmel but your summary is extremely incomplete. If we nuked weapons grade disinformation platforms where comedians say inaccurate things, Joe Rogan would have caused a mushroom cloud over Austin.
Probably the only time I saw right wing cancel culture at this national scale with full synchronicity between government and corporations was in the run up to the Iraq War. If you weren't a total patriot, you got nuked. And by patriot I mean going along with every claim made from the government. A lot of news broadcasters got nuked. Bill Maher got nuked. Of course that led to the suppression of any discussion that we were going to a disastrous war based on lies, but at the time thats how people demanded it went down. Pretty similar.

Just in case anyone is interested as I had to google it myself, but Nexstar is a big media channel who owns tons of tv channels. So though they can be affiliated with Disney/abc content they still have control what to show. At least I think that's how it works.
So they would license shows from big media companies for their creative content.

This is weird and I'm torn. I don't like cancel culture. I support free speech, with one clear line being calls for violence. I also don't like obvious propaganda, and I don't like tasteless gravedancing. At the same time, part of me hopes that the far left finally getting a taste of their own medicine could be the first step towards moving the discourse in a freer and healthier direction.
EDIT: I'd also be lying if I said I didn't feel some schadenfreude. Mostly, though, I want the temperature to turn down.

I talked about it in an earlier comment, but I really hope this compels the teaching profession to get looked at a little closer. Some of the most vile comments and actions have come from professors and teachers. It's unacceptable and, just like the media and their ofttimes disguising of opinion pieces as "news" (equivalent to teachers disguising their opinions [read: propaganda] as education), it's a big part of the problem with regards to extremism and radicalization - not to mention the stress, lack of compassion, and anger it can and does instill in malleable young minds.

Edit: For clarity, I was briefly an Administrator over at IIDB.org, which is a secular forum. In all my years participating there, and even during the short month I was serving as an administrator, I never once came across this guy.

In the United States, the actual major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox) do not own the local TV stations themselves. The TV stations have licenses to show the content produced by the major networks ("affiliate themselves") but fill the time not taken by the networks with their own programming. The broadcast TV structure of the US has always been this way and if you happen to turn on the local TV station's signal when it's not prime time broadcasting hours you'll find all kinds of local content or licensed content which isn't network programming. The loud sjw/political group thinks the rest of the world thinks about them all day in a negative way the only way to cure that is 24/7 positive vibes and flag waving in people faces.
That's how insane they are. And not surprisingly comes from their mindset of being attention whores like it's the most important thing in the world.
When I walk around and see people on the street or store I just care about doing my own thing or listening to music while shop for a bag of apples.
If someone is gay or trans walking by who cares. I just want to finish what I'm doing and get home and chill.
What the insane people think is that every person near them thinks they are so important they got a target on their head in a most wanted list. As if a mom and her kid who wants to buy paw patrol really cares about another persons gender/sex.

All the talk shows are dying off. Kimmel, Colbert, and Maher all have their contracts end in 2026. Fallon and Meyers end in 2028. They all got contract extensions late in Biden's presidential term even though all of them lose their network tons of money. All are left leaning (Fallon by far the least, Maher less outspoken than in the past). There has been rumors that the shows were financially propped up by USAID, but I haven't seen proof of that.
