How often do you check the ban history page?

Yeh I'm all good dude, just took an extended break due to a busy period, both in terms of work and play.

No drama, don't need to announce my departure or request a ban when the log out button is right there.

I see it's (unsurprisingly) been a dramatic period for the forum though, that ban page has been really active.

Banning 1-3 people every day feels like it's systematic. It feels like I'm watching one of Stalin's Lists, writing names for the sake of writing names.

Edit: looking at the reasons, some look legit. Others like "Angry incel" and "Retard alert" look opinionated.

Bans are a neccissary evil, but if it happens too widely it starts feeling like Era where it evolves into a narrow echochamber.
 
Later today I will be hosting a memorial service for GigaBowser in the Gaming section.
All are invited to observe a moment of silence with a 10 post salute as we reflect on one of the best performers in the history of the NeoGAF entertainment universe.

The average IQ level in Nintendo threads just went up a few points. The schtick got old a long time ago and I'm glad they finally gave him the perm. He reminded me of some of the retarded fanboys you'd see on GameFAQs and not in a good way.

Ban page references several warnings so probably wasn't any one thing. I know he just came back from ban and started up like he never left. People tried to tell him him needed to calm down but I think he wanted to be permed.

Agreed. He was funny, people cheered on him and gave him attention, so he became an annoying attention whore, and got banned.

People get plenty of warnings in almost all situations. If it gets to the point where you actually get banned, it's definitely justified.

I'll do that if someone is unable to present an argument without being an asshole or is clearly acting in bad faith. Funny thing is almost everyone I've added, or come close to adding, to my ignore list (which isn't very many) eventually got permanently banned.

But yeah it's still pretty annoying when there are blank posts/people are quoting someone I've ignored. Bad posters can really shit all over a thread even if you ignore them.
