I am playing with Japanese dub for authenticity, and after hearing Erica Ishii's voice on Youtube i am even more glad i did. The Japanese voice acting is just amazing and especially Atsu's voiceactress is really good.

Nice to see that people are enjoying the game. I'm still on the fence unfortunately. Can I assume that this game isn't packed to the rafters with D.E.I politics etc?
I'm almost through and encountered no DEI to speak of.
The only weird situation was when i had to brawl some samurai in a sake house.
Other than that the setting is really realistic. They even note her being a woman at times and how it is strange. And there are enough situations that depict her in moments of weakness; no constant "unbeatable girlboss / strong woman" or anything like that.

Some people just seem to take offense when a woman is the main character, paired with Erica Ishii looking 'mid' rather than like Eve from Stellar Blade, and her questionable social media posts, it is apparently enough to brand the game woke trash, while it is actually quite enjoyable.

YouTube algo strikes again..... (relevant because of the Shamisen)

This channel is pretty great too. She's not limited to just the shamisen though.

None. Play it in Japanese. No girlboss tropes here. Protagonist is mostly stoic and quiet. She's kind and respectful to those deserving and humbly takes advice from the various senseis you meet. I'm actually enjoying her character so far.

In the first game, there was a way to set the guiding wind to lead you to flowers, fox dens, etc. I know the Shamisen is a substitute for this to find shrines and all, but is there a song that will lead you to flowers?

Just a heads up, when you get to the last brother bounty, it tells you to look for a tree with white leaves so my ass is running all over this area looking and there's no tree with white leaves….and then I stumbled upon an injured guy by the bottom of the nearby cliffs so look out for him (talk to him) and then you climb up to the tree :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Does the game not have Witcher Sense anymore?

In Tsushima you could "hear" enemies when sneaking around in camps, this helped a lot with figuring out where enemies were.

In de control options it says press R3 to listen but nothing happens.

The predator vision was nuts. Too OP. I hope it isn't in tbh.

Controversy aside, I am annoyed that there is no demo for the game. People tell you to think for yourself. How am I to do that and make any kind of decision if I am not given the ability to engage with it at all in order to do that? They really want me to rely on YouTube and potential forum shills without being able to make my own decision?

OK I am officially done with the game at 20 hours.

Bad story, non linear, too much to doo honestly no energy for that right now. Also 30fps cutscenes is awful. It kills this game.

I will wait for all the expansions to be out and then play it again in a year or so
Assassin's creed shadows

I honestly have no idea how this game got 92 on metacritic.

I would honestly give it 6/10 at best.

It's above average
Expedition 33

Hate to say it but I uninstalled this game after 5 hours. It's not for me and I guess I wasted 70$.

GOT was my favorite PS4 exclusive but this game it beyond mediocre in terms of story,it's setup and main character.

I have no idea who am I fighting and no desire to take my revenge at all.
Now ghost of yotei

That's all there is to your douzain posts, do you need attention this bad?

I feel like the way the story starts is a bit weak compared to GoT, but 20 hours in I am digging the story a lot more now in GoY. I just really wish they would have taken a few weeks longer and given the samey missions slightly different openings. The 10th time you find a wolf den it feels so cut & paste it isn't funny. GoT had the same problem though.

Glad to hear many are enjoying this game. To be honest I was not expecting as many praises. When I first heard that they were working with that nutjob activist for the voice actor, I lost all hope for the game and the studio. I do find it hard to believe that the game is not woke. Or if it is, not enough to get GAF attention. Reading comments here, it seems like they did a good job with a sequel by improving on the original in many ways. Since I do not have a PS5, I will not be getting the game. It is hard for me to look past the main character actress as you literally play a character who looks and definitely sounds like her. Even if the game comes out on PC and gets modded, they still hired her and specifically picked her, likely due to her politics. I have to wonder if Sony forced some last minute changes to remove any modern politics from the game. That would be good news, as there is hope for future first party Sony games.
Idk why people thought this game would be "woke". The first game wasn't. I don't think Nate Fox, the head of SP is woke unlike Neil Druckmann. Just because the voice actress is woke, it doesn't mean the game will be. Voice actors/actresses have no creative control over the product.

Wouldn't of bought it if it was woke or had DEI in it. The voice actress is a nutcase but it has nothing to do with the game

I mean at the end of the day they are another form of rock paper scissors, i don't know hard, but i can't even imagine playing on lethal, being surrodunded by 15 enemies and having to hit enemies 2-3-4 more times just because i want to use a specific weapon because i would get absolutely brutalized, being lethal with less hit possible is how you handle groups in this game, wailing on enemies when they can kill you in 1-2 hits reduce the freedom you can have in combat, even worse in duels where one single mistake can fuck you up so you wanna end the thing as soon as possible.

Maybe it's more balanced on hard and normal or going further in the game the rps aspect is not gonna be a thing anymore but for now they feel like a tool for specific enemies more than different weapons that i want to learn like in most games with multiple weapons.

This system was never a winning or a smart one, no idea why they went with this again in the sequel, changing weapon 50 times in 5 min to deal with a group is not natural nor engaging, it is just annoying.

Again i don't know if the system evolve later but for now it is probably the thing that feel the worse in the game combat wise, that and enemy sliding and having magnetism in their attacks, very noticeable, very cheap sometimes.
I was going for a high-effort reply, but now I see others already did it for me. In short, aligning weapons doesn't feel as strict as in GoT, an upgraded Odachi can perfect counter everything, including red attacks, and melee is not the only way. I unknowingly played the game in a sort of "incorrect" order, where I did most of the Teshio Ridge, full of sickle enemies, before getting the Yari - all good. I feel like somewhat extreme enemy tracking/sliding is a must, so as not to devoid combat of any challenge - with no limit on rolls. It does indeed look goofy at times, but I'll take it.

Man, this game is just phenomenal.

I haven't enjoyed myself in gaming so much in years as I am currently. Going on a road trip tomorrow for a week, and I'm genuinely bummed I have to put this on hold for a bit as it's going to be nagging in the back of my mind.

Bravo, Sucker Punch!

I'm hearing that one of the co-creators said that New Game+ is not planned for this as it was for Tsushima? I really hope that's not the case, as I'd really like to play from the beginning with everything unlocked and available. And if any game warranted a challenge mode (ala the Arkham games), this is it. The combat is so good that it deserves its own mode.

I'm willing to bet that SP has something cooking for this with how successful it is. Maybe they will even expand features for your home as well. I hope NG+ is coming.

Btw, this game has one of the easiest gambling games but also pretty fun. The coin flicking is kind of addicting. Making loads without having to bloody my blade. Also, it's cool that they added charms as a reward.

Can someone tell me how much game is left once you finish the Kitsune area?

I've 100% cleared each area and almost done with Kitsune.

I'm hoping that the spider and dragon are part of one final area and not each their own.

This game is awsome, I can't stop playing it and BF6 incoming. My two biggest complaints about this game

1. all the NPCs look the same, every time I meet someone I think I never seen them before. And everytime I wonder WHO are you again.
2. playing on a LG OLED but sometimes you just cant see shit, the lighting is so distracting for my eyes.

Even though these games are best played with Japanese voiceover, she's actually done a very good job of the English voice over (child voices aside, but those are very infrequent throughout the entire campaign).

1, Until someone comes up with a face and clothing randomiser that as more AI based then this is just the nature of the beast with open world games. (edit: sorry, re-read, I see what you mean, errr, I don't really have that problem? they look different enough for me to recognise the main NPC's individually)
2, Setup issue? I don't have any issues with the lighting, or are you talking about the engine's lighting? I have ray-tracing on and not perfect, but certainly not bad at all

This game is okay for me,
Its obviously a fantastic work of art with attention to detail and incredible music, atmosphere and very cool gameplay.

BUT

I cant play it for long stints nor do I want to, I dont find it particularly thrilling, its just good, as in, I can see all the outstanding elements like I said but it still doesnt blow me away as a package.
Its not one of those games where I am thinking about it alot or am thinking I need to get back to the story, its all very predictable and we all know where this story is going, its kind of like ok, I am going through the notions.

Its very pleasant to do so, as in yeah I am enjoying the hour I play here and there and I love the dualsense implementation, graphics and sound and even gameplay but I dont know its just not exciting me. Its nothing to do with Atsu or anything either I think theyve done a good job with her. I guess maybe because I played shadows earlier this year?

I can see myself dropping it for a bit then coming back in a few weeks time like I did with DS2, could also be where I am at with these type of games.

I find myself much more hyped for BF6.
