Muslims are allegedly 6.5% of the pop that's not including the estimated 1 million illegals.

I think we in the West, epsecially America, have fallen for our own mythology of heroic George Washington and his band of merry founding fathers leading a grassroots rebellion against tyranny, but forget that England was a loooooong way from America and we had some pretty big help from some of Englands deadliest enemies. So the notion that local Iranian common folk will rise up with just a little nudging by America is perhaps a bit optimistic.
Sadly, I suspect we will write some new treaties, walk away cheering success, Iran will take a few years to consolidate, kill a few million malcontents, and return to their old ways, and we will be back at it by 2030.

Posting this when we have seen the FBI unrionically covering up and reacting documents laying out the communications and facilitation of a large pedophile ring made up of powerful people and leaders in both the US; UK, Middle East and other nations is pretty quaint.

Distance and speed of communication played towards our advantage against the British. We were able to slow walk our way towards a unified front across the colonies while waiting for the King to respond to our grievances. It is quite the opposite for the Iranian people. They have no advantage against the regime and don't appear to have any "formal" resistance structure or link to the West. At least none left after the mass killings earlier this year.

You think those regions were stable before Europeans conquered them? They were constantly fighting themselves and invading Europe for ~1000 years.

OR this investigation was shut down because half of the people in current administration are in those files. Democrats also never wanted to pursue it further because their people were in it as well, and of course all those that pump money for their political campaigns (for both parties) can't be touched.
Are you this naive to believe anything this administration have to say about Epstein files and people connected to him? They lied multiple times about those files before they released them.

Every powerful nation of a few at the top and their far less well off subjects have claimed good times. Usually, their preview was limited. Sometimes, it was straight up obsfuscated by design.
Because 'good times' have always only ever existed for some people, while other people writhed in suffering. Sometimes at the hands of those comfortable people, sometimes not.

I'm hearing boots will be on the ground, but there is no time table or anything substantial. It is probably going to be something very focused if anything. This post verges very close to being straight up about politics so if it gets deleted, I won't be sad or anything
But it's important to realize that with the entire Western media screaming that no one wants this war and it's bad or whatever, that very quietly, a majority of Americans do in fact support this war and the media is increasingly a tiny but loud minority in the US. They do not serve the public interest. To serve the public interest would be to back this war and the President's actions up to this point because it turns out the public do in fact support this war

Iranians have every right to be skeptical to trust the US government's intentions. At the moment they have no real plan and just get their cues from Israel (who want a destitute Iran that can never threaten them), Saudi Arabia (like Israel but not as much) and Russia (who want a powerful Iran) so you never know what will be the policy.
The Kurds for sure have been burned now so many times.
One interesting thing I saw pop up somewhere was the small port town of Jask on the coast past the Hormuz Strait as a possible place the Marines could land. It's isolated, is supposed to be a second big oil terminal and is also in the Baloch region of Iran where an independence movement has been active.
This would be far more feasible than going to Kharg island.

As much as dictatorships etc. go the change always has to come from within. You build up coalition of people who want the change and then you make it, mostly bloodless, with economy intact, with no civil war and so on.

Also the goal of this war isn't stable Iran but civil war in iran where Iran will decompose into warrying states ala Syria as there are for example huge amount of kurds living there. Secondly once Iran will decompose automatically Israel can go for their "greater israel" campaign conquering parts of neighbours and add them to israel.
