Wii Whu?
Playstation Vitamins?
Wii Whu?
Can't speak for them, but here was GAF's reaction:

The thing is that gameplay isn't what's driving Nintendo's decision in this case. The pros of capacitive need to outweigh the cost. The durability is a big factor as well, since they'd likely have no choice but to pay more for better glass.
In addition to that, the aesthetics factor is mitigated due to the fact that a controller with an all glass front doesn't really work. So, basically, Nintendo would make the controller more expensive, and the only thing gained is pinch to zoom. It makes sense that they wouldn't feek that it's worth it.
Really, you might as well be arguing that it having a 7970 GPU is practical.
Sorry it was a little reductionist. I should have said motion gaming hasn't really been what I was hoping it would be. Wii U seems a lot more promising to me.Wii Motion Plus?
Can't you accomplish the same thing with a touch screen? Why do people forget the motion and pointer capabilities of the Wiimote?
I liked that, the Slim is horrible though. Looks really cheap.
Haha, I thought the Slim was better looking but not by much. I guess the size of the Slim helped with that but it just looked a lot more cohesive than the og PS3.Yeah definitely, the OG 360 wasn't all that but the 360 slim and OG PS3 look great, I like the look better than the Slim PS3.

When you try to compete with tablets (well the iPad basically) on the living room, it would be better than with something that isn't like one of those cheap bq tablets.
And I clearly think that capacitive is much more that pinch zoom, but well...
Hah, yes, my first thought when I saw the pics. Looks like a GameBoy LCD screen from that angle lol
When is the Reggie interview? I doubt we'll get any news at CES.

The Gyro controls make a decent substitute for pointer.
Awesome! Too bad we won't get any new WiiU news until E3.Tomorrow night.
I liked aiming the bow in Skyward Sword with the Wii Motion + but i hated the item menu and dialog selection with it.
It is cheap. Nintendo should release a $150 controller just so people don't think that it's cheap?
Say what more multitouch offers, or stop saying that it offers more.
Guess someone made the thread, in the speculation one we were having a sane discussion with funny posts. Enjoy yourselves in this.
multitouch could have clearly benefits on RTS games, selecting different units and guiding them to different objectives all at the same time, just for example and other amount of possibilities just like a stylus.
And I think that's the problem, the controller needs to be cheap but it shouldn't be cheap, no when it tries to gain attention from one of the most refined hardware in the market like the iPad, and that's nintendo intention.
It might be ending the best idea ever and the most successful console ever, but as I said, right now I don't see how the whole concept will appeal people, the people they want to appeal, most of those that I know refers to the Wii U as some cheap knockoff iPad.
Just wondering, when is the Reggie & Geoff interview?
Welcome to NeoGAF.
The people that follow the news will always be heavily out numbered by the people that really don't give a shit and are just here to stir the pot.
On the other hand, the people following the news are investing hundreds of hours into mostly wild rumours and unfounded speculation... kind of like people who are experts on UFOs or lizardmen.

Whoa whoa whoa.
There's a Lizardman GAF and I wasn't invited?
kind of like people who are experts on UFOs or lizardmen.
Evilore is really a lizardman. He is also really the British Queen.
Tomorrow night.
I think at 4PM PST or something.
Is it just a fluff PR interview? Is Nintendo giving any kind of keynote?

Not really expecting to see anything new tomorrow, but I am curious about that city that was the tech demo for the Wii U.

The latter two can be used with the analog controls.
I was hoping they would change the appearance of the actual console, but I guess that ship has sailed.
But barely moving the controller would activate motion controls and mess everything up.
I guess I just see the trade off as worth it then.HotD:OK Great with pointer controls, would be boring with a touchscreen.
TypingotD: Great with a touchscreen, would be hell using a pointer.
It's just Reggie and Geoff talking about nothing for like an hour.
And probably playing Mario Kart 7. They usually face off in some Nintendo developed multiplayer title during these interviews.
Bwahahahahaha

Is it for 4pm PST? I that that was EST?
