I've beaten them twice with 5 stars.. How many times do we have to defeat them to get their crystals?

Sorry to ask again but I don't think anyone answered. Should I focus on leveling the Don Tonberry or Golden Chocobo?
Also Flanitor or Green chocobo? I just made my Green Chocobo infuse with the flanitor but I don't think it was worth it. Since the green chocobo is a late bloomer does that mean it will get better later on? Because its lvl 45 now with really shitty stats.

Did you exit the slot machine? You have to to unlock it.
Or it may have glitched or whatever, I got something similar and sort of gave up. Afterwards I went to try again and got 7500 coins in a couple of turns in the slots, and immediately afterwards I played some chocobo races (after earning about 5K coins with my chocobo, that would be way over 10000) and when I exited the chocobo menu the trophy unlocked. Experiences on how to get this trophy are all over the place on the internet.
I exited it, waited around a bit, talked to the chocobo lady... went to the chocobo races... still nothing.
Someone said it's like 7% base capture rate?

I've fought them like 4 times and nothing. This is going to take a while lol. Lightning is going to help me with my bestiary hunt! Lightning and Amodar do drop a lot of "crystal" monster materials though

Having the fragment skill equipped and using the monsters' Feral Links don't help?

Thanks for reminding me!I imagine they do. Just like chocobos though, it's still hit or miss when the base rate is that low.

Bah, I got Lightning and leveled her max with whatever crystals I had and she turned out terrible, so I released her. I should probably go all potent or all mana or something
So I have to be up 10K coins? Cause I started at 30K.

hey, i'm still really on the fence with this. i really enjoyed FFXIII for what it was, but something about this game just feels off to me... the two main characters Serah and Noel seem lame as fuck even compared to Vanille and Hope.
do i seriously have to to use Serah and Noel all the time? them and one monster of my choosing, no other human party members?
and about the music, is it anywhere near as good as some of the best stuff from FFXIII, like the battle music and somber tracks like The Archylte Steppe, Mysteries Abound or Dust To Dust?

Flanitor's Hyper Rescue is so awesome. Switch to paradigm with Flanitor, press square, done healing.
Yeah, you'd need 40K I guess. Apparently each time you lose it subtracts from the amount, so if you're +9000 then spend it all winning nothing, then go +5000 you'll only be at 5000, not 13000.
If you started with 30,000 after going into that timeline, you would have had to get to at least 40,000 without leaving the timeline or the save file.

Got Lightning again... I'll make sure not to screw up her leveling this time. She had really low HP at max last time... so I'm thinking potent crystals would be best so she gets both HP and mana bonus
Could you list her stats before and after the potent crystals? Abilities too if you would be so kind.

Agreed, I think the music was definitely a strong point in this game. Really enhanced the intensity of many scenes in the game.
Some guy on 2ch leaked the announcement of Lightning and Amodar a day ahead, he also posted their complete stats so if you're willing to go search through the FFXIII-2 walkthrough thread there (which is where it was posted), yes, a site does have them.
Alternatively you could ask someone with the ultimania books to post them since that's where he got them from.

I think Noel and Serah actually give better performances then most of the FF13 cast. The dialog and interaction sound more natural here. They are way better then Vanille/Hope.
Yep. Most of the time its just Noel, Serah, and 1 monster with 2 back-ups that you can rotate in.
I'm finding the music to mostly be a disappointment. There are a lot of vocal tracks, which is ok, but they all start to sound the same because it seems to only be sung by one actress. Overall I feel its a pretty big step backward from FF13. There are some good ones though so it's not all bad. If you liked Ff13 I think you could have some fun here.
I'm about to give up on this game...every new place I go now,I get killed in like 3 shots,and the 2 Bosses that seem would unlock a few things I don't even come close to killing(second Flan fight and that dragon in the Steppes)...there's something I am not getting and I think it's the monster stuff...raising Commando on the big nodes for Noel,ravager and sentinel on the small one...Ravager on the big nodes and Commando,Saboteur on the small nodes for Serah...but the monster Crystalium and Infusing,not sure I understand it so that is probably messing me up,making the game hard...I am left to grind in Breshna or Sunleth or Steppes...(I'm about 11 hours in)...why can't I travel to the small circle on the crux road,like the one between Bresha and Sunleth?...why did I go to the Coliseum and it told me after to go do something elsewhere that I had already done...so confusing.
Try easy mode?
I dont understand this either...you bought the DLC,you fought them and won but you didn't get the crystal? so you have to restart the fight till you get one?

Made it to the final dungeon. Man, that section from
onward was FANTASTIC. Solidified Noel as my new favorite FF protagonist.

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I think you also need to do the chocobo races. I got my trophy even if i left serendipity (got 5k via slots, quit and turned off the ps3, resumed, got 5k on chocobo racing, then trophy popped out after leaving the races).
I finished FFXIII on normal,I don't see why this game is so hard right now,like I said,ther's something I dont get that's messing me up right now and it's probably the monster stuff and the paragdim packs, or I am trying to go to fast and I need to ''grind'' more.
I've done some of the chocobo racing.
Yeah. You can do the fight as many times as you want.
You can win 5000 coins in one chocobo career pretty consistently with a max level chocobo. The trophy would take like two hours of racing if the slots keep screwing you over.
