I come down on the side of Capacitive, but don't sugarcoat it. If he'd levied that against any other fanbase you'd be more than a little peeved.
Now instead of insulting one another, why don't we try to discuss the screens since that seems to be the arguing point of the day?
Resistive touchscreens do have an edge over Capacitive, but from what I know it's only by pixels. An issue with the DS and 3DS, but not so much the DRC.
Second reason? I don't think it's smart to put that much separation between thought and input. In the heat of battle, do you really want to reach for your stylus on the off-chance a developer has piss-poor implementation? Generally I don't see the need for the stylus at all, unless they are going full Mario Paint again.
In which case... Capacitive touchscreens can use styli too.
You gain more functionality by going Capacitive than you lose.
