Ok I didn't like the beginning but it really stepped it up towards the end, redeemed even with Paul McCartney getting people involved, it's a good touch

How many of you gushing over this opening ceremony have actually seen one live before? Sydney and Beijing were amazing too, I wasn't a fan of Greece.

I've seen every ceremony (Summer and Winter) since Barcelona live on TV.

As far as Summer Olympics go Athens is my favorite overall, Barcelona had the best torch lighting, China the most spectacle and this one is definitely the most fun. Atlanta was actually pretty bad in my opinion.

I personally enjoyed beijing«s opening a lot more. For me the olympics are a time where countries and races are forgotten and it's the true ceremony of humanity. The beggining where they wre pretty much shoving britain down our throat was really underwhelming and put me off for the rest of the show really.

It wasnt bad, it's was obviously well planed and well executed, but I really think they could have done better. Not a fan of the music segment and the Torch really, I prefer the classic bowl torch

Amazing, but still worst than Barcelona 92.

I remember I was amazed when I watched Barcelona 92 as a kid, but I dont know if it would be as good on a rewatch (they are going to de a documentary after this in TVE maybe a take a look).
Of course theres was the amazing Freddie (on a screen) with montserrat singing Barcelona that was pretty epic, but this had james bond, mr bean and some fantastic music (UK music is amazing) and epic moments (and some not good ones also), but the majority was great.
