you know what, if the rest of the world didn't like it we don't really care, we fucking loved it.

and we paid for it so you can stfu

Hell yeah.

Sir Danny Boyle, bank on it.

Barcelona torch lighting is still more epic, but this one is pretty good design as well.

I am just surprised there is almost nothing before the industrial revolution, although that part and NHS is pretty good. The Internet part was too long though.

Brannah was playing isambard kingdom brunel, one of our greatest civil engineers, heavily involved in our first great railway, our docks and bridges, sub terranian tunnels, the first iron clad propeller ship etc. I would have liked to have seen more tributes like that.

I was disappointed with no live Muse either, they are easily our best live band at the moment, I like dizee but he got an inordinate amount of time.

Overall I enjoyed it and loved the cauldron / pink Floyd fireworks

Well the Olympics are a world wide event, it's difficult to enjoy a event featuring local talent, still I'd prefer Mick Jagger, Elton Jhon, Enya, etc. There're many great british artists with world wide recognition instead of the rapper dude.

It's taped. It's 1am here now and it finished half an hour ago.

Apparently NBC wern't willing to stream it live even online because they wanted to monopolize a primetime audience. OLYMPIC SPIRIT WOOOOO ¬_¬

yeah.

Thing I liked about Beijing, was that I could catch strange sports online in the middle of the night. I hope to have similar experiences this Olympics.

I liked the fake fire building a ring.

Better than Beijing IMO, didn't expect laugh out loud moments. And it was spectacular while still being somewhat casual and fun. Hats off to Danny Boyle.

I guess being in the stadium would be a trading seeing the details for the live music and the participation with all the lights from the seats and all.

Awesome.

The execution and production value was catastrophic. Showing the Queen when she picks her nails? They basically, did not nail a single Head of State/Leader when their country walked in.

Compare to the Beijing opening, where every time they showed a world leader (say, Putin, Bush etc.) You saw them waving and standing up happily.

50 % of the time, they showed the leaders in London, they were sitting down, or looking bored.

The point is, show the leaders when they are happy and clapping. Instead, they humiliated the Queen by showing her in an extremely unfavourable situation.

Best part:
The opening (industrial revolution, MINUS THE FUCKING ATROCITY OF A INTRO MOVIE, the CGI Helicopter+ Stop motion= PUKE)
Atkins
Queen+ Bond

Worst part:
The music/movie tribute joined with the girls night out. (WTF was that, terribly way to tribute UK pop culture)
I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, (WTF; save this for the ending at-least...this is not some semi-crap award show)

Crappy sing a long version of Hey Jude (This is not some special concert in Hyde Park...where it would have been appropriate)

So many other small things, were just, badly executed. The opening was sooooo good. Even Atkins and then the NHS part but i mean...they completely dropped the ball after that...

The flag raising etc. all of that, completely bullocks. The LOCOG speech, horrid. Ali M. all of sudden, just showing him, too sick to even stand...like a trophy...

Gosh...

Very creative but not in any way a class act...

6/10...sorry...

This is ok but compared to Beijing it's very lacking.

It's ok though Britain. London is still my go to choice for place I want to go to the most outside of the US.

Eh, Bonkers and IBYLGOTD are two of the best known tracks from the last decade, they earned their place over a band who are on a bit of a downward slope.

edit: best known in Britain
