That was really dumb, skydive. Think I'll stop watching as others have said it fets bad(as I can see). As an American I really don't give a damn about the Queen taking her seat.
I'm an American too. However, this Olympics is in London not New York. Pipe down.

Really interested to see the US reaction to the healthcare segment.

Probably something really stupid like it's the reason we are still in recession. Not at all because we have a government in power who believe like the Republicans do, that the private sector can always do a better job and that big government is inherently evil and wasteful. A government that has embarked on a foolishly high level of austerity too quick, too soon and jeopardised our chances of recovery, whilst cutting taxes for the rich.

I saw the cameraman capture a scene where some audience use an iPhone (with a oversize Apple logo) for a few seconds. I guess they forgot the official sponsor is Samsung.

Exactly. Why try to beat it?

We went in a different direction and it was brilliant. I have to say it was very British. We Brits loved it, rest of the world's loss if they don't.

You Btits should be proud, this is pretty frickin' awesome.
Very British indeed, but very entertaining. Loving it.

I thought it was very British and very awesome - A success in other words. I'm looking forward to watching the sport over the next couple of weeks.

Why was Beijing only a throwing money spectacle? Beijing had a lot of China history, if you didn't get it don't say there wasn't soul. You could say the same for this ceremony as a non-Britain.

Agreed. The Beijing opening ceremony was gripping, you couldn't take the eyes off the TV.

The London one looks more geared to the domestic audience, with plenty of "what's that and why should I care" moments for everyone else. But there were great moments too...

Are you British?
Beijing celebrated China's history, arts and everything. The contrast is large because we're talking about two completely different culture. If you compare Zhang Yimou's and Danny Boyle's movies you'll see the same differences. That doesn't mean the Chinese are robots and the British are full of heart, people are different.

Agreed. Completely different. But, China's was all about spectacle, scale, precision and choreography. This was completely different to that, to its credit.
