I just wish we were a bit more competitive in general.

We take the piss out of America with their 'must win!' attitude, but I wish some of it would rub off on us.

We're too much of a "taking part that counts" society.

Wait for Rebecca Adlington!

But yes, the swimmers could learn from our rowers and cyclists (except this morning's fuck up) and go for the W rather than just taking part (losing).

If I was athletic then I'd be an absolute monster. When I am a part of competitive events I turn into some sort of barbaric viking on a warpath. I'd end up wanting to destroy my rivals for myself rather than the team... but I'm fat and lazy so no one has to endure that.

GBR will do well in events they usually do well in. Cycling, rowing, sailing, heptathlon, horse stuff and so on. Simply entering people in every event won't make them competitive in every event.

No TV service (I'm unplugged!) ... no proxy service that I can find to watch streams from outside USA.

Same issue I run into when I want to watch CBC for Hockey Night in Canada.

Can anyone here PM me a way I can watch the BBC stream from USA? I will love you forever!! Even longer if it also works for CBC next hockey season ;P

But that's what I don't understand. Why can't we be good at more events? No one seems to have the desire to properly succeed in the other events which is just bizarre to me.
