I don't understand NBC TV. They decide to not show the Phelps match live so they can save it for prime time, stupid but whatever I can wait. So I stay offline and try to remain spoiler free but when I flip over to NBC about an hour early to wait for it to come on and they go ahead and spoil the whole thing anyway .. I think I hate NBC.

This is just one of the reasons why it would've been better for ESPN to get the Olympics. Sports are not fun on tape delay.

Yeah, every 2 years in general and 4 years for Summer... I make every attempt to watch all I can. With all the streams I finally have the ability to watch what I want. Great first day of sport with much much more to come.

I cant believe how much of a shit fest NBC coverage is. First off some of there stations dedicated to covering the Olympics is showing regular crap like "Caught on Camera".
And for all the delaying they are doing they still show highlights of the winners ruining the tape delayed broadcasts so you have to wonder why they just don't show it live.

When I moved to the States from Europe people made fun of me when I asked why no one knows or plays handball. Its an awesome sport.

I was using the NBC extended coverage app to watch some live badminton this morning. Lol.
Archery was awesome too.
The fact is that in the age of internet is just stupid not airing live the biggest sport event of the year. It doesn't make any sense, you can still show a rerun later, but why not showing it first live? Results are instantly all over twitter and news sites. Are they gonna do this for all the "main events" like the 100m race? Because that would be beyond stupid.

That channel annoyed me earlier today. There were a lot of live events going on, but what were they doing? Showing replays of swimming that they'd previously shown live.
I liked Handball when I was in high school until I took a ball to the face (I was the GK) and broke my nose.

Yes. This was discussed earlier. All big events involving prominent Americans and the top events like the 100m are currently not scheduled to be shown live.

Honestly the time delay doesn't bother me even though its mountain time. I am all for them making money. Really dissapointed they require a cable sub to access online streams though. That bothers me way more than the delays. Though I am forced to never read this thread thoroughly.

After 40 minutes they showed a quite a bit of the USA beach volley ball match, a very small amount of the USA vs Korea indoor volley Ball match, a pre-recording of Lochte training, talking to some dude, and they are back to beach volley ball after the commercials.
