source?
cricket? rugby? tennis? i don't believe that.

those might be more popular attendance-wise. but basketball is the only "big" sport besides soccer that can easily be played on the street / at schools. I think in terms of players basketball could destroy those sports.

It feels like something out of the future. Is it unique for now? I don't recall having heard of any international TV station offering that service, although it's not exactly something I've been deliberately on the lookout for.

ESPN3 has had it for years.

I can't help but feel that our men's football team was deliberately picked on the basis of their names' usefulness in punny tabloid headlines.

the BBC recently added this feature when Wimbledon started this year and it's pretty awesome to instantly rewind or go back to Live (or highlighted bookmarks like a Goal or something).

America has NBA. It's played all of the country, and is one of the most popular sports in the country. I don't think it's such a big deal in France...so I mean, if you want to convince yourselves that then go ahead but I don't think US beating France at basketball is noteworthy.

Cricket and ruby more popular then basketball? lol

Yes. Cricket is the national sport of India and Pakistan and it is watched and played all over the world. It's easily more popular than basketball and, according to most of my Google searches, it's the second most popular sport worldwide.

FRANCE.

Don't worry, my fellow Americans. Jose Ramirez is about to avenge our men's freestyle team.
So because you can't name a single player, that validates your claim? lol

So I guess Paul Gasol, Marc Gasol, Andrei Kirilenko, Tony Parker, Yao Ming, Nene, etc. are all American players in the NBA huh?
Don't forget Dork Nowitzki.

It's a good thing France isn't representative of the rest of the world.

Table tennis is great, I used to play it a lot and it's quite fun to watch. However, it's rather annoying that basically every nation has an asian player playing for them. It would be nice to have more diversity in playstyles and just in general every match feels like china vs china.

Was he the guy that went first? Sometimes it's hard to compare because the 2nd 3rd and 4th guy have to start on sight and not a buzzer off the blocks.
yeah the 1st guy, he did 37.8, Phelps did a 37.2 split and in swimming you roughly add 6/7 tenth for the flying start. (The 3rd guy did 37.7, Lochte also 37.7)

Just the last two French guys were really quick 37,3 and 36.8 (fastest of all).

but it was great to see the French getting one back for the one 4 years ago and Aussies were shockingly slow, best 100m relay team ever Thorpe called them :P

It's not the number of individual fans, it's the ranking of the sport in each country which matters.
I doubt basketball is the second sport in France!
