Anyone else watching the coverage on Youtube? I was confused with the rebroadcast of Women's 10m Air Rifle and a couple other events, were they just flukes/accidents or is there something I'm missing? It seemed like they were trying to say they were live but it was clearly happened the day before.

what a totally fucked and bullshit list. China's second sport is definitely basketball. That's 1 billion.

lol Basketball at 10.

It really shouldn't be based on popularity and population. Wushu and some other stuff is also popular based on population because of the size of the Chinese population itself, but it's not going to be close to an Olympic sport soon.

There is just a large number of countries that play basketball, particularly all the former USSR countries, Western Europe, and East Asian countries. And then you also have it's popularity in Brazil and Argentina.

NBA players actually get competitive salary offers from teams in China, Russia, Italy, Israel, Spain, etc.

just do a google "most poular sports in the world" search. every fucking list is different, i dont think that it's possible to find a definitive answer. Football is easily the most popular sport, after that everything is fair game i think. you can make a case for almost every sport in the "Top 10" lists to be the 2nd most popular sport.

Field hockey is pretty fucking lame. Those sticks ruin any chance of it being interesting. How can this be one of the most popular sports in the world, while Bandy is like the smallest sport in the world? Why does the world hate winter sports so much? :(

I would switch it over to USA Field Hockey, but that would mean subjecting myself to NBC commentators. So I'll end after a very impressive Table Tennis match (Hsing in 2016!) and laugh at the swimming/gymnastics implosion that NBC will have to deal with.
