Javelin thrower Leryn Franco
Leryn Franco of Paraguay will be competing in the Javelin competition in London but will no doubt be getting some extra media attention as one of the hottest Olympians on the field.

NBC treated Jordyn Weaver like Superwoman even though Gabby finished ahead of EVERYONE in the Olympic trials. And now Gabby is in, and Jordyn is out.

derp.

I'm sorry but I don't see it. I've seen tons of girls I thought were hotter in these games, and I haven't even watched that many games yet.

Javelin too pointy?

I dunno, that was literally my reaction. I'm not generally one of those pointy knees type of dudes. I like a variety of women, and I do admit she is very good looking. But saying she'd get media attention for being the hottest olympian on the field and then posting those pictures it just seemed weird to me. Most of the beach volleyball players I've seen looked hotter to me.

The modeling picture doesn't help. Her skin looks unhealthily orange.

Why isn't America being considered anymore? Are we too big of a security threat? :(

I know I'm late on this but the reason the US didn't win for 2012 or 2016 is because there was a huge argument over allotment of funds with the USOC and the IOC. Chicago wanted it so bad that Obama himself went and spoke to the IOC pleading his case. Because of the disagreement about funding, Chicago was shot down in the first round of voting, which was considered a humiliating slap, and a message sent by the IOC that there would be no more US games until they reworked their contract. Basically the IOC thought the USOC was getting too big of a percentage of the marketing and tv deals that came from the US. This was from an open ended contract signed in 1996. Then the USOC president said they would make no more bids for US cities until it was resolved. Hence no bid for the 2020 games, because it was just resolved a few months ago.

So now the US is expected to bid for the 2024 games (or 2022 winter), and they would probably be a shoo-in except some people expect Paris to get it for their centennial of hosting. So now they might not get it until 2028. The IOC chairman said, just before the 2020 deadline that he wished the US would make a bid, so you can see, they want the games back in the US now that the shenanigans are over (purely money reasons, the US companies are the cash cows, and they make the most, and pay the most with a US games). So it gives them a shot to beat Paris in 2024 but we will see.

here's a link on the resolving of the issue...

It's going through Youtube for me. I think we may be talking about different things. I'm currently browsing through and I'm able to get the full shit. 4 hours of Judo, the full QF/SF/F of W Archery, among many other things I haven't seen yet. I had to confirm through my cable provider.

there...using...youtube?

there is not

AND I MEAN NOT

enough SMH gifs on planet EARTH for this.

WHY GIVE YOUTUBE, YOUTUBE the server backend!? Comcast Xfinity uses Silverlight. Silverlight was used in the SuperBowl to amazing EFFECT. WHY GO BACKWARDS?

NBC caught flatfooted this time. BIG TIME.

Oh, she has nudes. Well would you look at that.

If there is one good thing about the NBC coverage of the Olympics, it's hearing that Brisco Country Jr. Theme Song.

I was happy Chicago didn't get it. Screw Daley. Guy tore down an airport in the middle of the night to make room for the Olympic village, without even considering Chicago might not get it.

I did like Brisco County Jr. :(

Wow, Carlton Cuse (Lost) was a creator of it

So are you saying there is zero chance that Toronto might even host the summer games? Damn.

I always hoped I would live long enough to see Toronto host it but it's looking like a long ways off .

We'll see after the Pan-Am games. If we don't fuck that up we might get a shot. Canada gets a lot of winter games, but we're due for a summer games some time in the next couple of decades.

That was one of the better theme songs that - i think that was Elfman created. They used it when NBC had MLB Playoff Rights. Cant Believe they didnt create a whole suite of intros outros and sequences for this theme.

The gymnastics finally played out here on the west coast...oh man NBC really makes it as awkward as possible at the end. May as well just punch the one girl in the face with the camera while she's crying :/

Why, Oh WHY they dont a Prime Time TV show like this? Done the way they did it, its bad taste. But on a scripted show its great TV.
